Use of soybean meal as substitute of fish meal on aquafeeds is ***,levels of substitution are still low(less than 25%),because of its certain nutritional characteristics(low levels of some indispensable amino acids and high content of carbohydrates) and the presence of some antinutritional factors,such as phytic *** improve the use of higher levels of soybean meal on aquafeeds,the aim of this research was to use the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisicae in diets with high content of soybean meal for juveniles of rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss. Three experimental diets(40%protein,10%lipid,10%moisture) with a 75%of substitution of fish meal with soybean meal and adding 1.5%of yeast(diet 1);1.5%of yeast + 0.8%of phytase (diet 2) and 0.8%phytase(diet 3).A diet with 100%of fishmeal and a commercial diet were used as *** diet was fed to triplicate groups of 15 juveniles of rainbow trout with an initial weight of 1.2±0.02 g(mean±S.D.) for a period of 60 *** data were analyzed with a one-way ANOVA and statistical differences were evaluated with a Tukey-Kramer *** on weight gain(WG) and specific growth rate(SGR) showed a significant lower value of the fish fed with diet 1(687%) when compared with diets 2(801%),3(843%) and the control with 100% fishmeal(1081%).The higher WG among the treatments was observed on diet 3,but no significant differences were observed with respect the diet with yeast(diet 2).Survival rate of all groups showed a minimum percentage of 90%.Growth data indicate that use of yeast on diets with high supplementations of plant meals,might be helpful in the utilization of soybean meal in rainbow trout.

Respiratory Muscle Strength Evaluation in Healthy Adult and Elderly Women—Respiratory Muscle Strength Assessment in Adult and Elderly

Measurement of respiratory muscle strength is performed through static measurements of maximal respiratory pressures and is an important tool for determining the existence and prognosis of neuromuscular and pulmonary disorders, such as weakness or fatigue of this musculature. Objectives: To evaluate and compare respiratory muscle strength among healthy adult and elderly women. Methods: A total of 163 healthy women were recruited through convenience sampling at the family centers of the city of Manaus (AM, Brazil), divided into two groups: adult women (age 20 - 59 years) and elderly women (over 60 years of age). The evaluation was performed by Manovacuometry, in order to measure the maximum inspiratory pressure (MIP) and maximum expiratory pressure (MEP). For statistical analysis we used the Student’s T test, considering significant p value ≤ 0.05. Results: The final sample consisted of 116 adult women and 47 elderly women. The mean age in the group of women between 20 - 59 years was 44.5 ± 12 and the elderly group was 65 ± 6.6. MIP values in adult women were significantly higher when compared to the elderly (−108 ± 5.3 cmH2O × −79.5 ± 4 cmH2O, p = 0.0014, respectively). The same behavior was observed in the evaluation of MEP (87.1 ± 2.9 cmH2O in adults and 69.8 ± 3.5 cmH2O in the elderly;p = 0.0008). Conclusion: The results indicate that inspiratory and expiratory muscle strength is lower in older women, suggesting that the aging process tends to interfere with those muscles, resulting in altered respiratory system function.

The paper is to study the structural changes in cortex and cerebellum of autopsies of subjects with schizophrenia. In the Pathology Department of the Psychiatric Hospital ＂Fray Bernardino ,Avarez＂, there are 410 autopsy cases with diagnosis of mental disease, from which 52 match schizophrenia. The aim of this work is to describe structural changes in the autopsy material and make markers in order to confirm neurodevelopment alterations. The tissues were preserved in formol, paraffin-embedded; cut into 5-7 μm slices; stained with H-E （Hematoxilin and Eosin）, Bielschowsky, crystal fast of violet. The observed changes were brain asymmetry, cortical dysplasia, neuronal distortion, axon bifurcation, neuronophagia and generalized demyelination. Schizophrenia is the result of several happenings, it is important to devise new treatment strategies for prevention and genetic counseling for population.

BACKGROUND Neoadjuvant treatment(NT)with chemotherapy(Ch)is a standard option for resectable stage III(N2)*** studies have suggested benefits with the addition of radiotherapy(RT)to NT *** International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer(IASLC)published recommendations for the pathological response(PHR)of NSCLC resection specimens after *** To contribute to the IASLC recommendations showing our results of PHR to NT Ch vs NT chemoradiotherapy(ChRT).METHODS We analyzed 67 consecutive patients with resectable stage III NSCLC with positive mediastinal nodes treated with surgery after NT Ch or NT ChRT between 2013 and *** NT,all patients were evaluated for radiological response(RR)according to Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumours criteria and evaluated for surgery by a specialized group of thoracic *** histological samples were examined by the same two *** was evaluated by the percentage of viable cells in the tumor and the resected lymph *** Forty patients underwent NT ChRT and 27 NT ***-six(83.6%)patients underwent surgery(35 ChRT and 21 Ch).The median time from ChRT to surgery was 6 wk(3-19)and 8 wk(3-21)for Ch *** observed significant differences in RR,with disease progression in 2.5%and 14.8%of patients with ChRT and Ch,respectively,and partial response in 62.5%ChRT vs 29.6%Ch(P=0.025).In PHR we observed≤10%viable cells in the tumor in 19(54.4%)and 2 cases(9.5%),and in the resected lymph nodes(RLN)30(85.7%)and 7(33.3%)in ChRT and Ch,respectively(P=0.001).Downstaging was greater in the ChRT compared to the Ch group(80%vs 33.3%;P=0.002).In the univariate analysis,NT ChRT had a significant impact on partial RR[odds ratio(OR)12.5;95%confidence interval(CI):1.21-128.61;P=0.034],a decreased risk of persistence of cancer cells in the tumor and RLN and an 87.5%increased probability for achieving downstaging(OR 8;95%CI:2.34-27.32;P=0.001).CONCLUSION We found significant benefits in RR and PHR

Objective： Vascular calcification is the consequence of the complex interaction between genetic, environmental, and vascular factors, which ultimately lead to the deposition of calcium in the tunica intima （atherosclerotic calcification） or tunica media （M6nckenberg＇s sclerosis）. Vascular calcification is also closely related to other pathologies, such as diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, and chronic kidney disease. It has been concluded that the degree of vascular calcification may vary from person to person, even if the associated pathologies and environmental factors are the same. Therefore, this suggests an important genetic contribution to the development of vascular calcification. This review aimed to find the most recent evidence about vascular calcification pathophysiology regarding the genetic aspects and molecular pathways. Data Sources： We conducted an exhaustive search in Scopus, EBSCO, and PubMed with the keywords ＂genetics and vascular calcification＂, ＂molecular pathways, genetic and vascular calcification＂ and included the main articles from January 1995 up to August 2016. We focused on the most recent evidence about vascular calcification pathophysiology regarding the genetic aspects and molecular pathways. Study Selection： The most valuable published original and review articles related to our objective were selected. Results： Vascular calcification is a multifactorial disease; thus, its pathophysiology cannot be explained by a single specific factor, rather than by the result of the association of several genetic variants, molecular pathway interactions, and environmental factors that promote its development. Conclusion： Although several molecular aspects of this mechanism have been elucidated, there is still a need for a better understanding of the factors that predispose to this disease.

Breast Reconstruction: Does It Worth to Start If the Patient Is Not Sure to Take All the Process Along?

Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide, representing a major public health problem. There is still little information comparing the satisfaction of the patients who finished their process against the ones who start it but did not finish it. The aim of our retrospective study was to analyze the results in terms of satisfaction after one year of undergoing to complete breast reconstruction (CBR) vs incomplete breast reconstruction (IBR). Materials and Methods: Retrospective study of patients that underwent breast reconstruction (BR) surgery after mastectomy for breast cancer treatment. Performed at Hospital Central Sur de Alta Especialidad PEMEX in Mexico City, including patients from January 1, 2015 to January 01, 2020. Demographic baseline variables were included. BREAST-Q satisfaction questionnaires one year after the last reconstructive procedure were analyzed. Results: A total of 44 patients fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Of these 44 patients, 11 were included in the IBR group, and 33 patients in the CBR group. There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in terms of age (IBR 56.09 vs CBR 53.06 years, p = 0.321);BMI (IBR 27.94 vs CBR 26.40, p = 0.253), time from mastectomy to first reconstructive procedure (IBR 22.8 vs CBR 31 months, p = 0.957), history of chemotherapy (IBR 27.3% vs CBR 33.3%, p = 0.709) and radiotherapy (IBR 54.5% vs CBR 42.4%, p = 0.484), additionally type of reconstruction, affected side or complication rate were not significantly different. Regarding postoperative satisfaction, only the second module of satisfaction with breasts displayed statistically significant differences, with a higher score in the CBR group (46.27 vs 52.27, p = 0.019). Dengue is one of the most prominent tropical epidemic diseases present in the Rio de Janeiro city and Southeast part of Brazil, due to the widespread conditions of occurrence of the dengue vector, the mosquito Aedesaegypti, such as high-temperature days interlaced with afternoon or nocturnal rainstorms in summer. This work has the objective of investigating the relationships between variabilities of the El Ni?o-South Oscillation (ENSO) and greater epidemics of dengue in Rio de Janeiro city. To accomplish this goal, the analysis and signal decomposition by cross-wavelet transform (WT) was applied to obtain the cross variability associated with variations of power and phase of both signals by characteristic periods and along with the time series. Data considered in the analysis are (the decimal logarithm of normalized value) of the monthly available notifications of dengue worsening, provided by the public health system of Brazil, and the Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) Ni?o 3.4 data, provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), in the period 2000-2017. A maximum cross-wavelet power close to 0.45 was obtained for the representative period of 1 year and also to periods between 3 and 4 years, associated with the positive phase of the SOI index (i.e. , La Ni?a) or with a transition to the positive phase. The evolution of the combined variability of SOI and dengue can be expressed by progressive differences in phase along the time, eventually resulting in yielding phases (i.e., La Niña-Dengue epidemic).
