Comp.red to reforming reactions using hydrocarbons,ethanol steam reforming(ESR)is a sustainable alternative for hydrogen(H_(2))p.oduction since ethanol can be p.oduced sustainably using *** work exp.ores the catalyst design strategies for p.ep.ring the Ni sup.orted on ZSM-5 zeolite catalysts to p.omote ***,two-dimensional ZSM-5 nanosheet and conventional ZSM-5 crystal were used as the catalyst carriers and two synthesis strategies,i.e.,in situ encap.ulation and wet imp.egnation method,were emp.oyed to p.ep.re the *** on the comp.rative characterization of the catalysts and comp.rative catalytic assessments,it was found that the combination of the in situ encap.ulation synthesis and the ZSM-5 nanosheet carrier was the effective strategy to develop.catalysts for p.omoting H_(2) p.oduction via ESR due to the imp.oved mass transfer(through the 2-D structure of ZSM-5 nanosheet)and formation of confined small Ni nanop.rticles(resulted via the in situ encap.ulation synthesis).In addition,the resulting ZSM-5 nanosheet sup.orted Ni catalyst also showed high Ni disp.rsion and high accessibility to Ni sites by the reactants,being able to imp.ove the activity and stability of catalysts and sup.ress metal sintering and coking during ESR at high reaction ***,the Ni sup.orted on ZSM-5 nanosheet catalyst p.ep.red by encap.ulation showed the stable p.rformance with~88% ethanol conversion and~65% H_(2) yield achieved during a 48-h longevity test at 550-C.

Evaluation of a hep.tic biomarker of nutritional imbalance in juvenile red drum(Sciaenop. ocellatus) fed 60% soybean meal-based diets using NMR-based metabolomics

A 12-week feeding trial with juvenile red drum(Sciaenop. ocellatus) fed high-soybean meal(SBM) diets was conducted to investigate a p.tative biomarker of nutritional imbalance, N-formimino-L-glutamate(FIGLU). Three fishmeal-free, 60% SBM p.lleted diets(named B12, Fol, and Met, resp.ctively) were tested to evaluate the effects on growth p.rformance and tissue metabolite p.ofiles of sup.lementation of vitamin B12(0.012 mg/kg), folate(10 mg/kg), methionine(1 g/kg) resp.ctively, above basal sup.lementation levels. A fourth SBM-based diet(named B12/Fol/Met) was formulated with a combination of B12, folate, and methionine to attain the above-mentioned target concentrations. A fifth 60% SBM diet(named FWS) with methionine sup.lementation(1 g/kg above basal sup.lementation levels), enriched with taurine, lysine and threonine as well as minerals, was also tested. This diet contained formulation targets and additives which have allowed for rep.acing fishmeal with p.ant p.oteins in rainbow trout feeds. Control diets included a fishmeal-based diet(named FM), an unsup.lemented basal 60% SBM diet(named SBM60), and a “natural” diet(named N) made up.of equal p.rts of fish(cigar minnows), squid and shrimp.as a p.sitive reference for growth p.rformance. Formulated feeds contained ap.roximately 37% total crude p.otein, ap.roximately 14% total crude lip.d and were energetically balanced. Standard growth p.rformance metrics were measured, and tissues(liver, muscle) were collected at week 12 to evaluate diet-induced metabolic changes using nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)-based *** results show that the FWS diet outp.rformed all other SBM diets and the FM diet under all p.rformance metrics(p.0.05). FIGLU was not detected in fish fed the N diet but was detected in those fed the SBM diets and the FM diet. Comp.rison of reduced p.int charge models of p.oteins: Molecular Dynamics simulations of Ubiquitin

Reduced p.int charge models of amino acids are used to model Ubiquitin （p.B： 1UBQ）. They are designed （i） from local ex- tremum p.sitions in charge density （CD） distribution functions built from the p.isson equation ap.lied to smoothed molecular electrostatic p.tential functions, or （ii） from local maximum p.sitions in p.omolecular electron density distribution （ED） func- tions. Charge values are fitted versus all-atom Amber99 molecular electrostatic p.tentials. The p.ogram GROMACS is used to generate molecular dynamics trajectories of the p.otein, under various imp.ementation schemes, solvation, and temp.rature conditions. p.int charges that are not located on atoms are considered as virtual sites with a null mass and radius. The results illustrate that secondary structure is best p.eserved with the CD-based model at low temp.ratures and in vacuum. This indi- cates that local p.tential energy wells are consistent with the all-atom model. However, at room temp.rature, the structure is best conserved when p.int charges are forced to be located on atoms, due to a better descrip.ion of the Coulomb l-4 energy terms. The ED-based model, generated at a lower resolution, led to the largest discrep.ncies versus the all-atom case. The CD-based model allows the formation of p.otein-water H-bonds with geometrical p.op.rties similar to the all-atom ones. Con- trarily, intra-molecular H-bonds are not well described. Structural, thermodynamical, and dynamical p.op.rties of p.oteins modelled with reduced p.int charge models are also significantly affected by the choice of the solvent force field.

The FLOWERING LOCUS T/TERMINAL FLOWER 1 Gene Family： Functional Evolution and Molecular Mechanisms

In p.ant develop.ent, the flowering transition and inflorescence architecture are modulated by two homol- ogous p.oteins, FLOWERING LOCUS T （FT） and TERMINAL FLOWER 1 （TFL1）. The florigen FT p.omotes the transition to rep.oductive develop.ent and flowering, while TFL1 rep.esses this transition. Desp.te their imp.rtance to p.ant adap.ation and crop.imp.ovement and their extensive study by the p.ant community, the molecular mechanisms controlling the op.osing actions of FT and TFL1 have remained mysterious. Recent studies in multip.e sp.cies have unveiled diverse roles of the FT/TFL 1 gene family in develop.ental p.ocesses other than flowering regulation. In addition, the striking evolution of FT homologs into flowering rep.essors has occurred indep.ndently in several sp.cies during the evolution of flowering p.ants. These rep.rts indicate that the FT/TFL1 gene family is a major target of evolution in nature. Here, we comp.ehen- sively survey the conserved and diverse functions of the FTITFL1 gene family throughout the p.ant kingdom, summarize new findings regarding the unique evolution of FT in multip.e sp.cies, and highlight recent work elucidating the molecular mechanisms of these p.oteins.

Distortions in focusing laser p.lses due to sp.tio-temp.ral coup.ings: an analytic descrip.ion

In ultra-short laser p.lses, small changes in disp.rsion p.op.rties before the final focusing mirror can lead to severe p.lse distortions around the focus and therefore to very different p.lse p.op.rties at the p.int of laser±matter interaction,yielding unexp.cted interaction results. The map.ing between far-and near-field laser p.op.rties intricately dep.nds on the sp.tial and angular disp.rsion p.op.rties as well as the focal geometry. For a focused Gaussian laser p.lse under the influence of angular, sp.tial and group.delay disp.rsion, we derive analytical exp.essions for its p.lse-front tilt,duration and width from a fully analytic exp.ession for its electric field in the time±sp.ce domain obtained with scalar diffraction theory. This exp.ession is not only valid in and near the focus but also along the entire p.op.gation distance from the focusing mirror to the focus. Exp.essions relating angular, sp.tial and group.delay disp.rsion before focusing at an off-axis p.rabola, where they are well measurable, to the resp.ctive values in the p.lse’s focus are obtained by a ray tracing ap.roach. Together, these formulas are used to show in examp.e setup. that the p.lse-front tilts of lasers with small initial disp.rsion can become several tens of degrees larger in the vicinity of the focus while being small directly in the focus. The formulas derived here p.ovide the analytical foundation for observations p.eviously made in numerical exp.riments. By numerically simulating Gaussian p.lse p.op.gation and measuring p.op.rties of the p.lse at distances several Rayleigh lengths off the focus, we verify the analytic exp.essions.

Low-cost GNSS receivers have recently been gaining reliability as good candidates for ionosp.eric studies. In line with these gains are genuine concerns about imp.oving the p.rformance of these receivers. In this work, we p.esent a comp.ehensive investigation of the p.rformances of two antennas(the u-blox ANN-MB and the TOp.NSS TOp.106) used on a low-cost GNSS receiver known as the u-blox ZED-F9p. The two antennas were installed on two identical and co-located u-blox receivers. Data used from both receivers cover the p.riod from January to June 2022. Results from the study indicate that the signal strengths are dominantly greater for the receiver with the TOp.NSS antenna than for the receiver with the ANN-MB antenna, imp.ying that the TOp.NSS antenna is better than the ANN-MB antenna in terms of p.oviding greater signal strengths. Summarily, the TOp.NSS antenna also p.rformed better in minimizing the occurrence of cycle slip. on p.ase TEC measurements. There are no consp.cuous differences between the variances(comp.ted as 5-min standard deviations) of p.ase TEC measurements for the two antennas, excep. for a p.riod around May-June when the TOp.NSS gave a better p.rformance in terms of minimizing the variances in p.ase TEC. Remarkably, the ANN-MB antenna gave a better p.rformance than the TOp.NSS antenna in terms of minimizing the variances in p.eudorange TEC for some satellite observations. For p.ecise horizontal(North and East) p.sitioning, the receiver with the TOp.NSS antenna gave better results, while the receiver with the ANN-MB antenna gave better vertical(Up. p.sitioning. The errors for the receivers of both antennas are typ.cally within about 5 m(the monthly mean was usually smaller than 1 m) in the horizontal direction and within about 10 m(the monthly mean was usually smaller than 4 m) in the vertical direction.
