Pancreatic surgery is one of the most challenging and complex fields in general *** minimally invasive surgery has become the standard of care for many intra-abdominal pathologies the overwhelming majority of pancreatic surgery is performed in an open *** is attributed to the retroperitoneal location of the pancreas,its intimate relationship to major vasculature and the complexity of reconstruction in the case of ***,we describe the application of robotic technology to minimally invasive pancreatic *** unique capabilities of the robotic platform have made the minimally invasive approach feasible and safe with equivalent if not better outcomes(e.g.,decreased length of stay,less surgical site infections)to conventional open ***,it is unclear whether the robotic approach is truly superior to traditional laparoscopy;this is a key point given the substantial costs associated with procuring and maintaining robotic capabilities.

Fistulae between the gastrointestinal and urinary systems are rare but becoming increasingly more common in current surgical *** are a heterogeneous group of pathological entities that are uncommon complications of both benign and malignant *** the incidence of complicated diverticular disease and colorectal malignancy increases,so too does the extent of fistulous connections between the gastrointestinal and urinary *** complex problems will be more common as a factor of an aging population with increased life *** disease is the most commonly encountered aetiology,accounting for up to 80%of cases,followed by colorectal malignancy in up to 20%.A high index of suspicion is required in order to make the diagnosis,with ever improving imaging techniques playing an important role in the diagnostic *** strategies vary,with most surgeons now advocating for a single-stage approach to enterovesical fistulae,particularly in the elective *** bladder management techniques are also ***,open techniques were the standard;however,increased experience and advances in surgical technology have contributed to refined and improved laparoscopic ***,due to the relative rarity of these entities,no randomised studies have been performed to ascertain the most appropriate management *** fistulae have dramatically increased in incidence with advances in the non-operative management of prostate *** radiotherapy being a major contributing factor in the development of these complex fistulae,optimum surgical approach and exposure has changed accordingly to optimise their *** management in the form of diversion therapy is effective in temporising the situation and allowing for the diversion of faecal contents if there is associated soiling,macerated tissues or associated *** may plan for definitive surgical intervention

Stacked bar charts are a visualization method for presenting multiple attributes of data,and many visualization tools support these *** assess the efficacy of stacked bar charts in supporting attributecomparison tasks,we conducted a user study to compare three types of stacked bar charts:classical,inverting,and *** chart type was used to visualize six attributes of data where half of the attributes have the characteristics of‘lower better’whereas the other half attributes are with‘higher better.’Thirty participants were asked to perform two types of comparison tasks:single-attribute and overall-attribute *** measured the completion time,error rate,and perceived difficulty of the comparison *** results of the study suggest that,for overall-attribute comparisons,the inverting stacked bar chart was the most effective with regards to the completion *** results also show that performing overall-attribute comparisons using the classical and diverging stacked bar charts required more time than performing single-attribute comparisons using these *** perceived the inverting and diverging stacked bar charts as easier-to-use than the classical stacked bar chart for overall-attribute ***,for single-attribute comparisons,all chart types delivered similar *** discuss how these findings can inform the better design of interactive stacked bar charts and visualization tools.

Objective:To investigate the in vitro antibacterial and antioxidant activities of crude and fractionated extracts of the Plakortis nigra(***)sea sponge from Mauritius sea ***:Preliminary qualitative chemical screening of the sponge extracts was conducted by using standard methods while the total phenolic content(TPC)was estimated through the Folin-Ciocalteu *** activity was evaluated against Staphylococcus aureus,Escherichia coli and Proteus *** minimum inhibitory concentration was determined by the broth microdilution *** sponge extracts were assessed for antioxidant activity via the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl free radical scavenging in vitro ***:Alkaloids,phenols,steroids,terpenoids,tannins and saponins were detected in the sponge extracts and TPC varied from(2.280±0.072)mg to(12.790±0.236)mg gallic acid equivalents per gram extract(P<0.05).All the extracts inhibited the growth of at least two bacterial strains whilst the most potent in vitro antibacterial activities were observed in the most polar ethyl acetate and butanol fractions(minimum inhibitory concentration values 0.103–0.211 mg/mL)of *** extract scavenged 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl free radicals while the hexane fraction displayed the highest scavenging ability at(27.50±1.85)%(P<0.05).Antioxidant activity was positively correlated with TPC(R^(2)=0.843).Contrary relationships were also found between antibacterial activity and ***:The present study validates the antioxidant and antibacterial activity of marine sponge(***)extracts and depicts the sea sponge as a potential source of pharmaceutical leads against infectious and degenerative diseases.

BACKGROUND Immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)are novel therapeutic agents used for various types of *** have revolutionized cancer treatment and improved clinical outcomes among cancer ***,immune-related adverse effects of ICI therapy are *** immune-related adverse events(irAEs)are rare but potentially life-threatening *** To estimate the incidence of cardiovascular irAEs among patients undergoing ICI therapy for various *** We conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis by searching PubMed,Cochrane CENTRAL,Web of Science,and SCOPUS databases for relevant interventional trials reporting cardiovascular *** performed a single-arm meta-analysis using OpenMeta[Analyst]software of the following outcomes:Myocarditis,pericardial effusion,heart failure,cardiomyopathy,atrial fibrillation,myocardial infarction,and cardiac *** assessed the heterogeneity using the I2 test and managed to solve it with Cochrane’s leave-one-out *** risk of bias was performed with the Cochrane’s risk of bias *** A total of 26 studies were *** incidence of irAEs follows:Myocarditis:0.5%[95%confidence interval(CI):0.1%-0.9%];Pericardial effusion:0.5%(95%CI:0.1%-1.0%);Heart failure:0.3%(95%CI:0.0%-0.5%);Cardiomyopathy:0.3%(95%CI:-0.1%-0.6%);atrial fibrillation:4.6%(95%CI:1.0%-14.1%);Myocardial infarction:0.4%(95%CI:0.0%-0.7%);and Cardiac arrest:0.4%(95%CI:0.1%-0.8%).CONCLUSION The most common cardiovascular irAEs were atrial fibrillation,myocarditis,and pericardial *** rare,data from post market surveillance will provide estimates of the long-term prevalence and prognosis in patients with ICIassociated cardiovascular complications.

目的:探讨香港青少年对滥用咳药水的信念。方法:应用《滥用咳药水信念量表》(Beliefs about Cough Medicine Abuse Scale-BACMAS),了解160名滥用咳药水及65名非滥用咳药水的香港青少年,对滥用咳药水的信念。结果:研究显示,此量表有高的内在一致性信度及效度(包括同证效度及构念效度)。一般而言,参加者认为滥用咳药水并不会带来很多好处,而他们亦了解滥用咳药水的危害。不过,仍然有为数不少的参加者认为,长期滥用咳药水并不会上瘾,而他们亦认为跟滥用咳药水的朋友交往并不危险。结论:此量表具有可接受的心理测量特性。青少年对滥用咳药水的自相矛盾信念,对预防滥用咳药水的工作有重要的启示。
