An earthquake called the MW7.2“El Mayor Cucapah”earthquake on April 4,2010 has been analyzed for seismic precursor.The changes in the lineament system concerning its pattern and time intervals were analyzed during the earthquake preparation period and occurrence using the automated lineament detection method.The Landsat 5 TM images were processed using LESSA and ADALGEO software obtaining similar results.The statistical analysis revealed the stress accumulation due to plate interaction during earthquake formation.The study shows that the number of extracted lineaments changes rapidly about 23 months before the earthquake,and the systems return to the initial stage after 23 months.Most lineaments coincide with the extension of the San Andreas Fault as NW direction is the dominant trend.Thus,it can be concluded that the featural changes within the Rose diagram corresponding to the different strokes direction along with oriented elongation lines as disclosed in the present study using satellite images could be identified as a mid-term and/or short-term precursors of the earthquake.However,even though the dynamism of the El Mayor Cucapah earthquake is found in the extracted lineaments,it is possible to isolate more significant earthquakes even if new ones appear near the zone.Moreover,using two algorithms for lineament detection allows for the tectonics to corroborate the obtained lineaments and dynamism.

The present analysis provided the quality assessment of 65 Continuous Operating Reference Stations(CORS) situated in and around Mexico using the data of about ten years(January 2010 to January 2020).To accomplish the assessment,we considered 4 quality indexes for performing the quality check,incluing the multipath effect on L1 and L2 bands,signal-to-noise ratio in both bands,cycle slips,and integrity.Meanwhile,a new reference parameter named regio nal values for Mexico(RVM) was calculated for the stations situated in Mexico.Additionally,an exhaustive analysis of the quality indicators in the worst and best cases was performed.The signal degradation was proved by a long-term time series and cru stal defo rmation analysis in GAMIT/GLOBK platform.The results showed a stro ng correlation between integrity,cycle slips and daily observations time,and the multipath effect is strong in the case of outdated systems.The study indicates that the estimated quality indexes and values could be the basis for establishing new CORS in Mexico,and the errors corrections which cannot be mitigated in the postprocessing stage would greatly help utilize the data for different scientific applications.The results were supported by deformation analysis in part of Baja California Peninsula in Mexico indicating northern and eastern velocity vector of -3.08±0.02 mm/yr,-7.85±0.02 mm/yr and-0.07±0.03 mm/yr,-9.33±0.02 mm/yr respectively at MPR1 and INEG stations.

Background and objective The advances in the lung cancer screening methods and therapeutics,together with awareness towards deleterious habits,such as smoking,is increasing the overall survival with better quality of life for the patients.However,lung cancer is still one of the most common and fatal neoplasm with a high incidence and consequently burden to public health worldwide.Thus,based on guidelines and recent phasesⅡandⅢclinical trials studies,this manuscript summarizes the current treatment sequencing strategies in lung cancer.Methods A comprehensive search of related articles was performed focused on phasesⅡandⅢclinical trials studies.Results The lung cancer management should take into consideration the tumor characteristics,histology,molecular pathology and be discussed in a multidisciplinary team.Lung cancer treatment options comprises surgery whenever possible,radiotherapy associate with/or chemotherapy and immunotherapy as monotherapy,or combined with chemotherapy and best palliative care.Conclusions The screening predictability in more patients,smoking reduction,early diagnosis,better disease understanding and individualized,more effective and tolerable therapeutics are related to an increasing in overall survival and quality of life.In the near future improvement of personalized therapy in precision medicine is expected,enhancing new predictive biomarkers,optimal doses and optimal treatment sequencing as well as anti-cancer vaccines development.

Flight-initiation distance(FID),the distance between an individual and experimenter when it begins to flee,can be used to quantify risk-assessment.Among other factors,prior studies have shown that latitude explains significant variation in avian FID:at lower latitudes,individuals and species have longer FIDs than those living at higher latitudes.No prior studies have focused on the effect of elevation on FID.Given the similar patterns of seasonality,climate,and potentially predator density,that covary between latitude and elevation,birds at higher elevations might tolerate closer approaches.We asked whether elevation or latitude would explain more variation in the FID of a common passerine bird species,dark-eyed juncos(Junco hyemalis).Juncos live in a variety of habitats along both latitudinal and elevational gradients.We found that statistical models containing elevation as a variable explained more of the variation in FID than did models containing latitude.We also found,unexpectedly,that birds at higher elevation fled at greater distances.While more predators were sighted per hour at higher elevations than at lower elevations,the frequency of predator sightings did not explain a significant amount of variation in FID.This result questions whether predator density is the main driver of risk perception along elevational gradients.Nonetheless,because elevation explains more variation in FID than latitude in at least one species,these findings have direct implications on how human impacts on birds are managed.Specifically,those designing set-back zones to reduce human impact on birds may consider modifying them based on both latitude and elevation.

Idiosyncratic drug-induced liver injury(iDILI) encompasses the unexpected harms that prescription and non-prescription drugs,herbal and dietary supplements can cause to the liver.iDILI remains a major public health problem and a major cause of drug attrition.Given the lack of biomarkers for iDILI prediction,diagnosis and prognosis,searching new models to predict and study mechanisms of iDILI is necessary.One of the major limitations of iDILI preclinical assessment has been the lack of correlation between the markers of hepatotoxicity in animal toxicological studies and clinically significant iDILI.Thus,major advances in the understanding of iDILI susceptibility and pathogenesis have come from the study of well-phenotyped iDILI patients.However,there are many gaps for explaining all the complexity of iDILI susceptibility and mechanisms.Therefore,there is a need to optimize preclinical human in vitro models to reduce the risk of iDILI during drug development.Here,the current experimental models and the future directions in iDILI modelling are thoroughly discussed,focusing on the human cellular models available to study the pathophysiological mechanisms of the disease and the most used in vivo animal iDILI models.We also comment about in silico approaches and the increasing relevance of patient-derived cellular models.

＜正＞In cross-language information retrieval it is often important to align words that are similar in meaning in two corpora written in different languages.Previous research shows that using context similarity to align words is helpful when no dictionary entry is available.We suggest a new method which selects a subset of words（pivot words） associated with a query and then matches these words across languages.To detect word associations, we demonstrate that a new Bayesian method for estimating Point-wise Mutual Information provides improved accuracy. In the second step,matching is done in a novel way that calculates the chance of an accidental overlap of pivot words using the hypergeometric distribution.We implemented a wide variety of previously suggested methods.Testing in two conditions, a small comparable corpora pair and a large but unrelated corpora pair, both written in disparate languages,we show that our approach consistently outperforms the other systems.

Shifts in hydrological regimes alter river flow rates and flood pulses, decrease environmental heterogeneity and the floristic-structural complexity of associated plant communities. We tested the hypothesis that drought events affect plant community composition and structure at a small-scale within a riparian fragment towards a reduction in floristic-structural complexity. The tree community was sampled in three habitats (wet, transitional and dry) and monitored in seven inventories carried out between 1991 and 2018. Hydrological variations were evaluated through annual rainfalls, river flow rates and water level data. The species richness and the detrended correspondence analysis axes were used to characterise the temporal modifications in floristic composition. Community structure was described in terms of biomass: accumulated, growth of survivors, mortality and recruitment. Generalised linear mixed models were fitted to evaluate the effects of time and environment in community. It was concluded that the climate has become drier in recent years due to declining precipitation that has affected flow rates and water levels. The floristic-structural complexity of the study fragment was maintained during the monitoring period. However, prolonged and extreme drought events displayed the potential to impact floristic-structural patterns.

Our work aimed to test the hypothesis that soil microscale heterogeneity act as a community ecological driver,increasing diversity and promoting structural shifts on the Seasonally Dry Tropical Forest(SDTF)tree community.We evaluated the relationship between microscale edaphic variations and floristic–structural patterns of tree communities in a SDTF fragment located in the southern end of the Brazilian Caatinga domain.Vegetation and soil data were obtained through 27 sample units of 400 m2(20 m 920 m),within each one we measured and identified at species level all arboreal individuals with Circumference at the Breast Height greater or equal to 10 cm,and also collected the soil samples.Through the data we evaluated soil variation influence on the tree community structural and floristic patterns trough generalized linear models.Soil explained the small-scale structural and floristic variations,contributing significantly to biomass,sprouting and to floristic relationships between sample units.It was also observed a possible relation of the result with the Caatinga domain biogeographic history,due the presence of Sedimentary Caatinga species,which are not expected for the study region.Soil plays an important role in driving small-scale complexity and diversity of SDTF,but we also suggest that Caatinga biogeographic events have influence on the high heterogeneity patterns.

AIM To determine the sensitivity and specificity of liver stiffness measurement(LSM) and serum markers(SM) for liver fibrosis evaluation in chronic hepatitis C.METHODS Between 2012 and 2014,81 consecutive hepatitis C virus(HCV) patients had METAVIR score from liver biopsy compared with concurrent results from LSM [transient elastography(TE) [FibroS can~/ARFI technology(Virtual Touch~)] and SM [FIB-4/aspartate aminotransferase-toplatelet ratio index(APRI)].The diagnostic performance of these tests was assessed using receiver operating characteristic curves.The optimal cut-off levels of each test were chosen to define fibrosis stages F ≥ 2,F ≥ 3 and F = 4.The Kappa index set the concordance analysis.RESULTS Fifty point six percent were female and the median age was 51 years(30-78).Fifty-six patients(70%) weretreatment-na?ve.The optimal cut-off values for predicting F ≥ 2 stage fibrosis assessed by TE were 6.6 kP a,for acoustic radiation force impulse(ARFI) 1.22 m/s,for APRI 0.75 and for FIB-4 1.47.For F ≥ 3 TE was 8.9 kP a,ARFI was 1.48 m/s,APRI was 0.75,and FIB-4 was 2.For F = 4,TE was 12.2 kP a,ARFI was 1.77 m/s,APRI was 1.46,and FIB-4 was 3.91.The APRI could not distinguish between F2 and F3,P = 0.92.The negative predictive value for F = 4 for TE and ARFI was 100%.Kappa index values for F ≥ 3 METAVIR score for TE,ARFI and FIB-4 were 0.687,0.606 and 0.654,respectively.This demonstrates strong concordance between all three screening methods,and moderate to strong concordance between them and APRI(Kappa index = 0.507).CONCLUSION Given the costs and accessibility of LSM methods,and the similarity with the outcomes of SM,we suggest that FIB-4 as well as TE and ARFI may be useful indicators of the degree of liver fibrosis.This is of particular importance to developing countries.

Several substations in operation were commissioned decades ago.These substations are overstressed,then their protection equipment cannot provide an effective safety condition to the system.In the worst cases,short‐circuits can cause permanent damage to the system if the overcurrent is higher than the capacity of the installed equipment.There are some possible solutions for those cases:replace all the equipment in the overstressed substation,build a new one in parallel or install a fault current limiter(FCL)device.From an economic point of view,introducing FCLs in the power system is the best way to solve the described problem.The commercial solutions available are the pyrotechnic FCL,air coil reactor,neutral earthing resistor,and high impedance transformer.However,these devices are limited and present several drawbacks.Since the’70s,there has been a search for reliable FCL devices that do not interfere in the regular operation of substations and could limit the fault currents to the protection system rated level.There were so many FCL technologies proposed in the last decades.These proposed new devices may use superconducting technologies,power electronics,or both.This paper reviews proven FCL technologies,focusing on full‐scale devices demonstrated in field and lab tests.The goal is to introduce the main FCL technologies in development and discuss didactically their operation principle,the built prototypes,the commercial units,whether they exist,and the main drawbacks for each technology presented.A final analysis of the level of maturity for each FCL technology is discussed using the TRL(Technology readiness level)scale in order to find technologies with more potential for mass production.The three technologies closer to the full commercial application are:the Resistive Superconducting FCL,the Saturated Iron Core FCL,and the Series Reactor FCL.
