BACKGROUND Validation of.the ref.rence gene(RG)stability during experimental analyses is essential f.r correct quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)data ***,in an unreliable way,several studies use genes involved in essential cellular f.nctions[glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydro-genase(GAPDH),18S rRNA,andβ-actin]without paying attention to whether they are suitable f.r such experimental conditions or the reason f.r choosing such ***,such studies use only one gene when Minimum Inf.rmation f.r Publication of.Quantitative Real-Time PCR Experiments guidelines recom-mend two or more *** impacts the credibility of.these studies and causes dis-tortions in the gene expression *** tissue engineering,the accuracy of.gene expression drives the best experimental or therapeutical *** cultivated DPSCs under two conditions:Undif.erentiated and osteogenic dif.f.rentiation,both f.r 35 *** evaluated the gene expression of.10 candidates f.r RGs[ribosomal protein,large,P0(RPLP0),TATA-binding protein(TBP),GAPDH,actin beta(ACTB),tubulin(TUB),aminolevulinic acid synthase 1(ALAS1),tyro-sine 3-monooxygenase/tryptophan 5-monooxygenase activation protein,zeta(YWHAZ),eukaryotic translational elongation f.ctor 1 alpha(Ef.a),succinate dehydrogenase complex,subunit A,f.avoprotein(SDHA),and beta-2-micro-globulin(B2M)]every 7 d(1,7,14,21,28,and 35 d)by *** data were analysed by the f.ur main algorithms,ΔCt method,geNorm,Normf.nder,and BestKeeper and ranked by the Ref.inder *** subdivided the samples into eight *** All of.the data sets f.om clonogenic and osteogenic samples were analysed using the Ref.inder *** f.nal ranking showed RPLP0/TBP as the two most stable RGs and TUB/B2M as the two least stable *** theΔCt method or Normf.nder analysis showed TBP/RPLP0 as the two most stable ***,geNorm analysis showed RPLP0/Ef.αin the f.rst *** algorithms’two least stab

A Proposed New Laboratory Protocol f.r Dispersant Ef.ectiveness Testing Adapted f.r Subsea Dispersant Injection

The main objective of.this study is to develop a new protocol f.r bench-scale dispersant ef.ectiveness testing adapted f.r subsea dispersants injection (SSDI). The new approach includes turbulence conditions, dispersant injection techniques and quantif.cation of.ef.ectiveness, more representative f.r a SSDI operation. Results f.om the new system are compared to dispersant ef.ectiveness measured with established laboratory methods, used f.r screening dispersants f.r surf.ce application. The most signif.cant result is that the dispersant ranking obtained with the new test relevant f.r subsea releases was very dif.erent compared to the ranking obtained by screening methods used f.r surf.ce application of.dispersants. This strongly indicates that existing standard methods f.r dispersant ef.ectiveness testing designed f.r simulating conditions relevant f.r surf.ce application of.dispersants, are less relevant f.r SSDI ef.ectiveness testing and justif. the need f.r a more relevant method. Such a Dispersant Injection Ef.ectiveness Test (DIET) is suggested and documented in this study.

Transient adhesion ef.ects in rolling–sliding contacts inf.uence all aspects of.train–track *** is of.high importance specif.cally when these ef.ects result in critically low adhesion,which poses a risk to traction and braking of.railway *** study presents a model that can replicate the transient changes of.the coef.icient of.adhesion with tested water and solid particle *** experimental data f.r the model are measured using a commercial ball-on-disc *** experimental results showed a liquid reservoir in f.ont of.the contact area that slowly reduces in *** observation was used in the modelling approach to divide the calculation into two stages where the reservoir is present and when it *** model was able to reproduce the occurrence of.low adhesion region seen in experimental results with dif.erent particle concentrations.

Assessment of.scale interactions associated with wake meandering using bispectral analysis methodologies

Large atmospheric boundary layer f.uctuations and smaller turbine-scale vorticity dynamics are separately hypothesized to initiate the wind turbine wake meandering phenomenon,a coherent,dynamic,turbine-scale oscillation of.the f.r *** interactions,the mechanism of.energy transf.rs between scales,manif.st as triples of.wavenumbers or f.equencies and can be characterized through bispectral *** bispectrum,which correlates the two f.equencies to their sum,is calculated by two recently developed multi-dimensional modal decomposition methods:scale-specif.c energy transf.r method and bispectral mode ***-eddy simulation of.a utility-scale wind turbine in an atmospheric boundary layer with a broad range of.large length-scales is used to acquire instantaneous velocity *** bispectrum f.om both methods identif.es prominent upwind and wake meandering interactions that create a broad range of.energy scales including the wake meandering *** coherent kinetic energy associated with the interactions shows strong correlation between upwind scales and wake meandering.

Over the past two decades,machine learning techniques have been extensively used in predicting reservoir *** this approach has signif.cantly contributed to the industry,selecting an appropriate model is still challenging f.r most *** solely on statistical metrics to select the best model f.r a particular problem may not always be the most ef.ective *** study encourages researchers to incorporate data visualization in their analysis and model selection *** evaluate the suitability of.dif.erent models in predicting horizontal permeability in the Volve f.eld,wireline logs were used to train Extra-Trees,Ridge,Bagging,and XGBoost *** Random f.rest f.ature selection technique was applied to select the relevant logs as inputs f.r the *** on statistical metrics,the Extra-Trees model achieved the highest test accuracy of.0.996,RMSE of.19.54 mD,and MAE of.3.18 mD,with XGBoost coming in ***,when the results were visualised,it was discovered that the XGBoost model was more suitable f.r the problem being *** XGBoost model was a better predictor within the sandstone interval,while the Extra-Trees model was more appropriate in non-sandstone *** this study aims to predict permeability in the reservoir interval,the XGBoost model is the most *** contrasting results demonstrate the importance of.incorporating data visualisation techniques as an evaluation *** the heterogeneity of.the subsurf.ce,relying solely on statistical metrics may not be suf.icient to determine which model is best suited f.r a particular problem.

Background:Despite advances in the diagnosis of.patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),70%-80%of.patients are diagnosed with advanced stage *** vein tumor thrombus(PVTT)is among the most ominous signs of.advanced stage disease and has been associated with poor survival if.*** sources:A systematic search of.MEDLINE(PubMed),Embase,Cochrane Library and Database f.r Systematic Reviews(CDSR),Google Scholar,and National Institute f.r Health and Clinical Excellence(NICE)databases until December 2022 was conducted using f.ee text and MeSH terms:hepatocellular carcinoma,portal vein tumor thrombus,portal vein thrombosis,vascular invasion,liver and/or hepatic resection,liver transplantation,and systematic ***:Centers of.surgical excellence have reported promising results related to the individualized surgical management of.portal thrombus versus arterial chemoembolization or systemic *** elements to the individualized surgical management of.HCC and portal thrombus include precise classif.cation of.the portal vein tumor thrombus,accurate identif.cation of.the subgroups of.patients who may benef.t f.om resection,as well as meticulous surgical *** review addressed f.ve specif.c areas:(a)f.rmation of.PVTT;(b)classif.cations of.PVTT;(c)controversies related to clinical guidelines;(d)surgical treatments versus non-surgical approaches;and(e)characterization of.surgical techniques correlated with classif.cations of.***:Current evidence f.om Chinese and Japanese high-volume centers demonstrated that patients with HCC and associated PVTT can be managed with surgical resection with acceptable results.

Tuning the surf.ce acidity of.ZSM-5 catalyst is essential to achieve desired propene selectivity and *** several ratios of.Zr were utilized to modif. ZSM-5 via f.ame spray pyrolysis technique coupled with a pulse spray evaporation *** interaction between Zr and ZSM-5 in the f.ame inf.uenced the physicochemical and acidity properties of.the Zr/*** increasing Zr ratio in ZSM-5 shows coated layers of.irregular nano-sized Zr with an increase in crystallite sizes due to the synergetic ef.ect between Zr and *** surf.ce chemical analysis revealed increased lattice oxygen on the Zr modif.ed ZSM-5(1:4) sample compared to other *** acidity analysis revealed the Lewis and Br?nsted acid distribution in the weak and medium acid sites on the catalyst ***,the increase in Zr loading decreased the concentration of.Br?nsted acid sites and tuned the catalyst surf.ce to more Lewis acidity,promoting propene selectivity and hindering the over-oxidation of.*** modif.ed ZSM-5 catalysts were examined in a f.xed bed reactor within 300℃-700℃ at a gas hourly space velocity(GHSV) of.6000 mL·g(catalysts)^(-1)·h^(-1) f.r the oxidative dehydrogenation of.propane(ODHP) to *** the catalysts,Zr/ZSM-5(1:4) exhibited the best propene yield, with 57.19% propane conversion and 75.54% selectivity to propene and the highest *** work provides a promising strategy f.r tuning the surf.ce acidity of.ZSM-5 with Zr f.r ODHP applications.

Probabilistic analysis of.tunnel f.ce seismic stability in layered rock masses using Polynomial Chaos Kriging metamodel

f.ce stability is an essential issue in tunnel design and *** rock masses are typical and ubiquitous;uncertainties in rock properties always *** view of.this,a comprehensive method,which combines the Upper bound Limit analysis of.Tunnel f.ce stability,the Polynomial Chaos Kriging,the Monte-Carlo Simulation and Analysis of.Covariance method(ULT-PCK-MA),is proposed to investigate the seismic stability of.tunnel f.ces.A two-dimensional analytical model of.ULT is developed to evaluate the virtual support f.rce based on the upper bound limit *** ef.icient probabilistic analysis method PCK-MA based on the adaptive Polynomial Chaos Kriging metamodel is then implemented to investigate the parameter uncertainty *** input parameters,including geological strength indices,uniaxial compressive strengths and constants f.r three rock f.rmations,and the horizontal seismic coef.icients,are treated as random *** ef.ects of.these parameter uncertainties on the f.ilure probability and sensitivity indices are *** addition,the ef.ects of.weak layer position,the middle layer thickness and quality,the tunnel diameter,the parameters correlation,and the seismic loadings are investigated,*** results show that the layer distributions signif.cantly inf.uence the tunnel f.ce probabilistic stability,particularly when the weak rock is present in the bottom *** ef.iciency of.the proposed ULT-PCK-MA is validated,which is expected to f.cilitate the engineering design and construction.
