Blue Cap Is Effective and safe for the Treatment of Atopic Dermatitis in Children

Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is the most common inflammatory skin disease in children. Treatment of AD is based on skin barrier repair and reduction of inflammation. We analyzed the efficacy and safety of activated piroctone olamine (APO)—Blue Cap—in children with AD. Materials and Methods: An open-label interventional clinical study was carried out at three clinical centers in serbia. A total of 58 patients with AD, aged between 3 and 18 years were included and treated with Blue Cap Foam (100 ml;CATALYsIs s.L. Madrid)—Activated Piroctone Olamine—applied twice a day in the affected areas with eczema for 30 days and final assessment at 45 days from baseline. Photographic documentation, clinical evaluation, therapy effectiveness and safety questionnaires were assessed at baseline, 15, 30 and 45 days. Results: Our results demonstrated a significant reduction in signs (erythema, scaling, infiltration, excoriations, xerosis) and symptoms (pruritus) at weeks 2 and 4 of the study. At the end of the study, most patients had moderate (28.6%) to great (62.5%) disappearance of manifestations and moderate (25%) to great (71.4%) skin quality improvement. The effect and tolerability of the therapy were evaluated as very good in 66.1 % and 67.9% and good in about 14.3% and 17.9%, assessed by the investigator and patient, respectively. Three patients experienced a burning sensation at the beginning of the study, the side-effects were resolved as the patients continued applying the foam. After two weeks of cessation of the investigated foam, a significant percentage of patients experienced worsening in the final assessment done by the investigator as well as the participant. In the final assessment, a significantly high percentage (57.1%) of patients had a total reduction of manifestation, and a significant number of participants considered the applied product as treatment success, assessed by the investigator (62.5%) as well as the participants (66.4%). The metaphor at the heart of Hong Kong filmmaker Flora Lau＇s debut feature film, Bends （2013）, set in the border spaces of Hong Kong and shenzhen, is that of intersection. By constructing a quietly observant view of life on both sides of the sam Chun River, which separates Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, Lau＇s film inhabits this metaphor by cutting through the public and private domains with a narrative of intimacy and connection at the nexus of wider socioeconomic concerns. Delving into Hong Kong-mainland relations, Bends inserts the real-life social issues of immigration, border control, economic privilege, and China＇s one-child policy into its diegesis to capture Hong Kong at a moment in time. In considering the intertwined relationship between identity, politics, and urban space, this paper employs the trope of disappearance perpetuated in critical discourses on Hong Kong as a point of departure to explore the distinct filmic topography of Bends, which attempts to cinematically preserve the dynamics of the city under Chinese administration. In so doing, this paper also examines Lau＇s interest in giving marginalized female groups narrative agency to shed light on an alternative perspective of the special administrative region and its unfolding relationship with the motherland.

Improvement of VIs and IR camouflage properties by impregnating cotton fabric with PVB/IF-Ws_(2)

In order to examine the possibility to improve its camouflage properties standard cotton fabric with camouflage print was impregnated with poly(vinyl butyral),PVB and fullerene-like nanoparticles of tungsten disulfide,PVB/IF-Ws_(2).FTIR analysis excluded any possible chemical interaction of IF-Ws_(2) with PVB and the *** camouflage behavior of the impregnated fabric has been examined firstly in the VIs part of the *** reflection,specular gloss and color coordinates were measured for three different shades(black,brown and dark green).Thermal imaging was applied to examine the camouflage abilities of this impregnation in IR part of the *** obtained results show that PVB/IF-Ws_(2) impregnation system induced enhacement of the materials camouflage properties,*** IF-Ws_(2) have a positive effect on spectrophotometric characteristics of the fabric.

Background:Large uncertainty in modeling land carbon(C)uptake heavily impedes the accurate prediction of the global C *** the uncertainty sources among models is crucial for model improvement yet has been difficult due to multiple feedbacks within Earth system Models(EsMs).Here we present a Matrix-based Ensemble Model Inter-comparison Platform(MEMIP)under a unified model traceability framework to evaluate multiple soil organic carbon(sOC)*** the MEMIP,we analyzed how the vertically resolved soil biogeochemistry structure influences sOC prediction in two soil organic matter(sOM)*** comparing the model outputs from the C-only and CN modes,the sOC differences contributed by individual processes and N feedback between vegetation and soil were explicitly ***:Results showed that the multi-layer models with a vertically resolved structure predicted significantly higher sOC than the single layer models over the historical simulation(1900–2000).The sOC difference between the multi-layer models was remarkably higher than between the single-layer *** analysis indicated that over 80%of the sOC increase in the multi-layer models was contributed by the incorporation of depth-related processes,while sOC differences were similarly contributed by the processes and N feedback between models with the same soil depth ***:The output suggested that feedback is a non-negligible contributor to the inter-model difference of sOC prediction,especially between models with similar process *** analysis with TRENDY v7 and more extensive MEMIP outputs illustrated the potential important role of multi-layer structure to enlarge the current ensemble spread and the necessity of more detail model decomposition to fully disentangle inter-model *** stressed the importance of analyzing ensemble outputs from the fundamental model structures,and holding a holistic view in understanding the en

Quantitative structure-Activity Relationship study of some Antipsychotics by Multiple Linear Regressions

The retention behavior and lipophilicity parameters of some antiphychotics were determined using reversed-phase thin layer chromatography. Quantitative structure-activity relationships studies have been performed to correlate the molecular characteristics of observed compounds with their retention as well as with their chromatographically determinated lipophilicity parameters. The effect of different organic modifiers (acetone, tetrahydrofuran, and methanol) has been studied. The retention of investigated compounds decreases linearly with increasing concentration of organic modifier. The chemical structures of the antipsychotics have been characterized by molecular descriptors which are calculated from the structure and related to chromatographically determinated lipophilicity parameters by multiple linear regression analysis. This approach gives us the possibility to gain insight into factors responsible for the retention as well as lipophilicity of the investigated set of the compounds. The most prominent factors affecting lipophilicity of the investigated substances are solubility, Energy of the highest occupied molecular orbital, and Energy of the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital. The obtained models were used for interpretation of the lipophilicity of the investigated compounds. The prediction results are in good agreement with the experimental value. This study provides good information about pharmacologically important physico-chemical parameters of observed antipsychotics relevant to variations in molecular lipophilicity and chromatographic behavior. Established QsAR models could be helpful in design of novel multitarget antipsychotic compounds.

Content of Heavy Metals in Mulberry Fruits and Their Extracts-Correlation Analysis

The aim of this research was the determination of heavy metals’ (iron, copper, zinc, manganese, cadmium, nickel and lead) contents of white, red and black mulberry fruit grown in southeast region of serbia, and their extracts. The content of all metals was confirmed in the fruits. All of tree types of mulberry contained the highest content of iron in the fruit and the lowest content of Cd. The level of iron in all assayed fruits species was ranged between 23.06-57.38 mg?100g?1. The concentration range of cadmium for the tested fruits was found to be from 1.77 to 2.46 μg?100g?1 in fruit of Morus nigra L. and Morus alba L., respectively. The content of metals in the fruit of white mulberry decreases in the following order: Fe > Mn > Zn > Cu > Ni > Pb > Cd. The content of metals in the fruit of red mulberry by decreasing the value is: Fe > Zn > Mn > Cu > Ni > Pb > Cd and in the fruit of black mulberry decreases in the following order: Fe > Zn > Cu > Mn > Ni > Pb > Cd. In addition, an analysis of mulberries extracts showed a significant transfer of heavy metals during extraction procedure;therefore, the corresponding extraction coefficients reached values up to 73.09%.
