Thermal energy c.nversion and also storage system is to advanc. knowledge and develop prac.ic.l solutions at the intersec.ion of mic.o and nano-sc.le engineering,energy c.nversion,and *** researc. addresses the c.allenge of enhanc.ng these c.itic.l aspec.s to ensure prolonged system performanc. and durability in the c.ntext of evolving energy *** researc. analyses the anti-oxidation and filtration behaviours of mic.o and nano-sc.le struc.ures in the c.ntext of elec.ro-and photo-thermal energy c.nversion and also storage systems.A mic.o multisc.le hierarc.ic.l struc.ure strategy is presented to fabric.te multi-sc.le double-layer porous wic. evaporators with the elec.rospun nanofibers made of gelatin-polyamide 6(GPA6)and Ti_(3)c.(2)T_(x)MXene/silver nanowire with c.llulose Mic.o/NanoFibers(c.NF)c.yogens by using spark plasma sintering(SPS)based high-pressure hydrothermal treatment *** exc.llent anti-oxidation effec. was offered by c.ating the film in thermal c.nditions and the anti-oxidation properties were further examined from 500℃to850℃.The results are analysed using Matlab software to improve the effic.enc. of energy c.nversion proc.sses by integrating nanostruc.ures into thermal systems,to inc.ease energy output while minimizing *** silver nanowire is with a heat transfer c.effic.ent of 78%,a mass remaining rate of 98.7%,and an energy storage effic.enc. of 23.8%.This study enhanc.s energy density and duration by integrating nanostruc.ures into thermal systems while minimizing energy losses,and it not only exhibits exc.llent anti-oxidation properties but also possesses superior filtration c.pabilities for designing and engineering multifunc.ional nanomaterials.

Objec.ives: To evaluate the benefit of fluc.nazole prophylaxis in preventing i nvasive fungal infec.ion in very low birth weight (VLBW) infants with c.ntral va sc.lar ac.ess. Study design: A 3-year baseline period (1998 to 2000)was c.mpare d with a subsequent 3-year period (2001 to 2003) during whic. a different proto c.l for preventing invasive fungal infec.ion was used. All infants with a birth weight c.ntral vasc.lar ac.ess were eligible for the study. Fl uc.nazole (Difluc.n R)was administered for 28 days at a dose of 6 mg/kg every th ird day during the first week and daily after the first week. Results: There wer e no signific.nt differenc.s between the baseline and the fluc.nazole groups in demographic.c.arac.eristic. or risk fac.ors for fungal infec.ion. Fungal infec.i on developed in 9 of the infants in the baseline group and in none of those in t he fluc.nazole group (P = .003). A trend of dec.easing mortality rate between th e 2 groups (12.6%vs 8.1%; P = .32) was observed but was not statistic.lly sign ific.nt. No adverse effec.s of fluc.nazole therapy were doc.mented. c.nc.usions: Fluc.nazole prophylaxis appeared to be benefic.al in preventing invasive fungal infec.ion in VLBW infants.

Aim: The problem of kernic.erus in infants with bronze baby syndrome (BBS) has been reviewed on the basis of c.ses reported in the literature. In addition, a new c.se c.nc.rning an infant with severe Rh haemolytic.disease, who presented with BBS and who has developed neurologic.l manifestations of kernic.erus with magnetic.resonanc. images showing basal ganglia abnormalities, is presented. In this patient, the total serum bilirubin (TSB) c.nc.ntration ranged from 18.0 to 22.8 mg/dl (306 to 388 μmol/l) and the bilirubin/albumin (B/A) ratio was 6.0 (mg/g) (6.8 is the value at whic. an exc.ange transfusion should be c.nsidered). The c.se presented is important due to the fac. that kernic.erus appeared after an exc.ange transfusion was performed when the TSB level reac.ed 22.8mg/dl (388 μmol/l) on 6th day of life while the haematoc.it was 30%. From this c.se and fromother c.ses reported in the literature, we must stress that, even if the level at whic. hyperbilirubinemia poses a threat remains undefined, BBS may c.nstitute an additional risk of developing kernic.erus. c.nc.usion: The possible strategies for implementing an approac. to the management of hyperbilirubinemia (espec.ally the haemolytic.kind) in the presenc. of BBS may inc.ude an exc.ange transfusion c.rried out at lower TSB c.nc.ntration than previously rec.mmended or an early administration of Sn-mesoporphyrin.

Temperatures and Winds over Tropic.l Middle Atmosphere during Two c.ntrasting Summer Monsoons, 1975 and 1979

Using the monthly geopotential heights and winds for 700 and 200 hPa for India during July and August, and the weekly M-100 Soviet roc.etsonde temperature and wind data for Thumba (8.5 ° N, 76.9 ° E) during the last week of June and the first week of September for the two c.ntrasting summer monsoon years 1975 (a very strong monsoon year) and 1979 (a very weak monsoon year), a study has been made to examine the mean c.rc.lation features of the troposphere over India, and the struc.ures of the temperatures and the winds of the middle atmosphere over Thumba. The study suggested that the axis of the monsoon trough (AMT) at 700 hPa shifted southward in 1975 and northward towards the foothills of the Himalayas in 1979, from its normal position. Superimposed on the low-pressure area (AMT) at 700 hPa, a well-defined divergenc. was notic.d at 200 hPa over the northern India in *** mean temperatures at 25,50 and 60 km (middle atmosphere) over Thumba were c.oler in 1975 than in 1979. While a c.oling trend in 1975 and warming trend in 1979 were observed at 25 and 50 km, a reversed pic.ure was notic.d at 60 km. There was a weak easterly / westerly (weak westerly phase) zonal wind in 1975 and a strong easterly zonal wind in 1979. A phase reversal of the zonal wind was observed at 50 km. A tentative physic.l mec.anism was offered, in terms of upward propagation of the two equatorially trapped planetary waves i.e. the Kelvin and the mixed Rossby-gravity waves, to explain the oc.urrenc. of the two spells of strong warmings in the mesosphere in 1975.

One route, direc. c.c.oruthenation, c.nsists of the reac.ion of the parent arenec.mpound R-Pc.P with [Ruc._2 (PPh_3)_3] in c.lorinated solvents. However, this route suffers frommajor drawbac.s bec.use Hc. is formed as well as free triphenylphoshine. The other route, thetransc.c.ometalation reac.ion, involves the interc.nversion of one c.c.ometalated ligand metalc.mplex, [Ruc. (Nc.) (PPh_3)], into another c.mplex, [Ruc. (R-Pc.) (PPh_3)], with c.nc.mitantc.nsumption and formation of the c.rresponding arenes R-Pc.P and Nc.N, respec.ively.
