Two-Stage IoT Computational Task Offloading Decision-Making in MEC with Request Holding and Dynamic Eviction

The rapid development of Internet of Things(IoT)technology has led to a significant increase in the computational task load of Terminal Devices(TDs).TDs reduce response latency and energy consumption with the support of task-offloading in Multi-access Edge Computing(MEC).However,existing task-offloading optimization methods typically assume that MEC’s computing resources are unlimited,and there is a lack of research on the optimization of task-offloading when MEC resources are *** addition,existing solutions only decide whether to accept the offloaded task request based on the single decision result of the current time slot,but lack support for multiple retry in subsequent time *** is resulting in TD missing potential offloading opportunities in the *** fill this gap,we propose a Two-Stage Offloading Decision-making Framework(TSODF)with request holding and dynamic *** Short-Term Memory(LSTM)-based task-offloading request prediction and MEC resource release estimation are integrated to infer the probability of a request being accepted in the subsequent time *** framework learns optimized decision-making experiences continuously to increase the success rate of task offloading based on deep learning *** results show that TSODF reduces total TD’s energy consumption and delay for task execution and improves task offloading rate and system resource utilization compared to the benchmark method.

Background: The use of drugs for purposes other than those for which they are meant to be used or in excess amounts. Psychoactive drugs are some of the drugs more commonly abused, also, antibiotics and other medications too can be misused. Drug abuse and misuse can lead to serious social, medical and emotional harm to the patients, and antibiotic resistance that makes treatment harder are also likely complications. Method: Patients in both male and female wards of the Orthoepaedics Department of ATBUTH, Bauchi were interviewed using a structured questionnaire and their responses were recorded and data were analyzed using the SPSS version 29. Results: A total of 112 patients were interviewed, 76 males and 36 females. Thirty-two (28.6%) patients had taken various kinds of unprescribed medications while on admission: 9 patients had taken unprescribed tramadol, 4 patients had taken codeine, 6 Ampiclox, 5 flagyl and about 8 patients had taken different kinds of traditional medications while on admission. Among the 32 patients, 23 (72%) are aged less than 30 years, 5 (16%) are aged between 30 and 50 years and 4 (12%) are aged above 50 years. Sixteen (50%) had such medications brought to them by relatives or friends, 10 (30%) were given by other patients on admission, 5 (15%) brought or bought the drugs by themselves while 1 (5%) were given by a non-clinical staff of the hospital. Conclusion: Drug misuse and abuse is a very serious, deleterious practice with destructive consequences in its wake, such consequences as drug dependency with all its antecedent effects, antibiotic resistance and difficulties in controlling/managing infections are but a few. So, it’s very important to both educate patients about these terrible practices and cope with the spread of them in our wards and hospitals.

A new type of device consisting of a lithium niobate film coupled with a distributed Bragg reflector(DBR)was theoretically proposed to explore and release Bloch surface waves for applications in sensing and *** film and grating made of lithium niobate(LiNbO_(3))were placed on both sides of the DBR and a concentrated electromagnetic field was formed at the film *** adjusting the spatial incidence angle of the incident light,two detection and analysis modes were obtained,including surface diffraction detection and guided Bloch *** diffraction detection was used to detect the gas molecule concentrations,while guided Bloch detection was applied for the concentration detection of biomolecule-modulated biological *** to the drift of the Fano curve,the average sensor sensitivities from the analysis of the two modes were 1560°/RIU and 1161°/RIU,and the maximum detection sensitivity reached2320/RIU and 2200°/RIU,*** study revealed the potential application of LiNbO_(3)as a tunable material when combined with DBR to construct a new type of biosensor,which offered broad application prospects in Bloch surface wave biosensors.

The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) emerges with the visionof the Wireless Body Sensor Network (WBSN) to improve the health monitoringsystems and has an enormous impact on the healthcare system forrecognizing the levels of risk/severity factors (premature diagnosis, treatment,and supervision of chronic disease i.e., cancer) via wearable/electronic healthsensor i.e., wireless endoscopic capsule. However, AI-assisted endoscopy playsa very significant role in the detection of gastric cancer. Convolutional NeuralNetwork (CNN) has been widely used to diagnose gastric cancer based onvarious feature extraction models, consequently, limiting the identificationand categorization performance in terms of cancerous stages and gradesassociated with each type of gastric cancer. This paper proposed an optimizedAI-based approach to diagnose and assess the risk factor of gastric cancerbased on its type, stage, and grade in the endoscopic images for smarthealthcare applications. The proposed method is categorized into five phasessuch as image pre-processing, Four-Dimensional (4D) image conversion,image segmentation, K-Nearest Neighbour (K-NN) classification, and multigradingand staging of image intensities. Moreover, the performance of theproposed method has experimented on two different datasets consisting ofcolor and black and white endoscopic images. The simulation results verifiedthat the proposed approach is capable of perceiving gastric cancer with 88.09%sensitivity, 95.77% specificity, and 96.55% overall accuracy respectively.

柔性可穿戴设备具有易于制造、设计通用性、高灵敏度和出色的灵活性等优点,因此被广泛应用于人机交互、健康监测以及与机器人技术集成等领域,其中压力传感器的性能好坏至关重要。目前,主流方法是采用微纳结构来提高传感器的各项性能,但是,由于微纳结构的结构和制备工艺复杂等问题,并不适合大规模制造。故本文提出利用结构较为简单的多孔或褶皱结构,来创建和改进压力传感器的传感性能。论文的主要研究内容如下:首先,使用一种称为热起皱的方法来开发一种能够检测压力、应变和监测步态的柔性夹层状压力传感器。由于活性材料(石墨烯)和聚合物(PH1000和PDMS)的热膨胀系数不同,所以PH1000在石墨烯/亲水PDMS复合材料上通过快速热退火可制成PEDOT(PSS(PH1000)/石墨烯/亲水PDMS复合材料组成的三明治结构)。经过性能评估,该传感器在0到10 k Pa之间表现出对压缩和拉伸应力的高灵敏度,在压缩载荷下,0到490Pa之间的灵敏度为2.83 k Pa,490 Pa到10 k Pa之间的灵敏度为0.12 k Pa。该传感器在0到147 Pa之间具有能检测到5.04 k Pa的高灵敏度,而且可检测到的最小压力为19 Pa。当承受1500次循环压缩应力时,传感器表现出出色的稳定性。通过250次和1250次循环实验,可以观察到重复性,并且循环载荷在没有滞后的情况下具有一致性。将起皱的压力传感器从0%拉伸到50%,发现在0%到30%和35%到50%之间显示出两个线性灵敏度,分别为3.2和20.1。通过使用传感器来演示步态监测,包括拳头运动强度、膝关节运动和手腕向前弯曲,结果表明:该传感器可以区分生理运动产生的动压和静压,证明了该传感器在健康监测设备和可穿戴电子设备中的巨大潜力。其次,通过用导电聚合物PEDOT(PSS涂覆独立式多孔PDMS),创建了具有微孔的3D高度多孔压阻传感器,该传感器重量轻且可挤压。使用五个循环压缩应力来评估传感器的性能:5%、10%、20%、30%和40%,其平均规范因子分别为2.78、3.38、3.67、3.74和2.96。对于5%到30%的应变水平,传感器显示出相对线性的响应。分析表明,PEDOT传感器对静态和动态压缩应变的响应证明该传感器具有良好的应变系数。通过10,000次循环压缩应力实验评估多孔传感器的稳定性和耐用性,结果表明该传感器在第5,000至5,008次循环时具有可重复的响应。在实际应用中,通过将该传感器放置在机械臂上进行滑动和抓握,对人体运动进行监测,并对结果做了进一步的分析。本文的研究展示了这些可穿戴设备在人机交互、健康监测和机器人设备中的应用,证明了压力传感器在一系列可穿戴设备场景中的广泛适用性。

Modelling the Effects of Vertical Transmission in Mosquito and the Use of Imperfect Vaccine on Chikungunya Virus Transmission Dynamics

In this paper, a deterministic mathematical model for Chikungunya virus (Chikv) transmission and control is developed and analyzed to underscore the effect of vaccinating a proportion of the susceptible human, and vertical transmission in mosquito population. The disease free, and endemic equilibrium states were obtained and the conditions for the local and global stability or otherwise were given. Sensitivity analysis of the effective reproductive number,?Rc?(the number of secondary infections resulting from the introduction of a single infected individual into a population where a proportion is fairly protected) shows that the recruitment rate of susceptible mosquito (ΛM) and the proportion of infectious new births from infected mosquito (β)?are the most sensitive parameters. Bifurcation analysis of the model using center manifold theory reveals that the model undergoes backward bifurcation (coexistence of disease free and endemic equilibrium when Rc?< 1 ). Numerical simulation of the model shows that vaccination of susceptible human population with imperfect vaccine will have a positive impact and that vertical transmission in mosquito population has a negligible effect. To the best of our knowledge, our model is the first to incorporate vaccinated human compartment and vertical transmission in (Chikv) model.
