Textile dyes are dramatic sources of pollution and non-aesthetic disturbance of aquatic life and therefore represent a potential risk of bioaccumulation that can affect living *** is imperative to reduce or eliminate these dyes from liquid effluents with innovative biomaterials and ***,this research aims to highlight the performance of Capparis spinosa l waste-activated carbon(CSlW-AC)adsorbent to remove crystal violet(CV)from an aqueous *** mechanism of CV adsorption on CSlW-AC was evaluated based on the coupling of experimental data and different characterization *** efficiency of the CSlW-AC material reflected by the equilibrium adsorption capacity of CV could reach more than 195.671 mg·g^(–1) when 0.5 g·l^(–1) of CSlW-AC(Particle size≤250μm)is introduced into the CV of initial concentration of 100 mg·l^(–1) at pH 6 and temperature 65℃ and in the presence of potassium ions after 60 min of contact time according to the one parameter at a time *** adsorption behavior of CV on CSlW-AC was found to be consistent with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Frumkin's linear isothermal *** thermodynamic aspects indicate that the process is physical,spontaneous,and *** optimization of the process by the Box Behnken design of experiments resulted in an adsorption capacity approaching 183.544 mg·g^(–1)([CV]=100 mg·l^(–1) and[CSlW-AC]=0.5 g·l^(–1) at 35 min).The results of the lactuca sativa seeds germination in treated CV(70%),adsorbent solvent and thermal regeneration(more than 5 cycles),and process cost analysis(1.0484 USD·l^(–1))tests are encouraging and promising for future exploitations of the CSlW-AC material in different industrial fields.

Adapted European seabass(Dicentrarchus labrax l.)larvae at 25 days post-hatching(dph)with a primary weight and length of 23 mg and 9.92 mm,start the weaning up to 46 dph using the weaning micro-diet(54%crude protein from fish meal,powder milk,and poultry egg)concurrently with Artemia enriched with fortification emulsions(0.6 g/l)of DHA selco®as a control group(DHAS)or Fish oil+20%Vitamin C(FOVC),or Fish oil+20%Vitamin E(FOVE),or Fish oil+10%Vit.C+10%Vit.E(FOCE),or Fish oil only(FO).At 46 dph,groups of larvae fed enriched Artemia with DHAS and FOVE exhibited the highest final body weight,weight gain,average daily gain,specific growth rate,feed intake,protein efficiency ratio,and survival%as well as the lowest feed conversion ***,larvae in FOVC displayed the lowest final body weight,total length,weight gain,average daily gain,specific growth rate,feed intake,protein efficiency ratio,and survival%as well as the highest feed conversion *** histological assessment exhibited no pathological alteration as well as an improvement in the structure with DHAS,FOVE,FOVC,and FOCE co-additives compared to *** peroxidase enzyme(GPx)recorded the highest rates(Plemented with DHAS and FOVE followed by FOCE and *** the lowest record for GPx activity was noted in the FO *** conclusion,Using augmented Artemia nauplii with fish oil+vitamin E in single or in companion with vitamin C as cheap antioxidants support *** larval growth,survival,and antioxidant efficacy during the critical weaning period.

Saffron(Crocus sativus l.) stigmas as a potential natural additive to improve oxidative stability attributes of sunflower(Helianthus annuus l.) oil stored under different conditions

The aim of our study was to explore the antioxidant potential of Moroccan saffron stigmas(SS) and examine their performance as a natural antioxidant in enhancing the stability and quality properties of edible sunflower oil(SO), with a focus on understanding the critical importance of edible oil stability for predicting quality deterioration during storage. Bearing this in mind, our research was designed to compare the efficacy of three concentrations of dried SS(at 0.2%, 0.3%, and 0.6%) against tocobiol(a synthetic antioxidant) as a positive control(at 0.3% concentration). This comparison was conducted under three distinct storage conditions namely accelerated ageing(60 ℃), exposure to light at ambient temperature, and darkness, to evaluate their impact on preventing severe oxidation and extending oil shelf-life. Oxidation state evolution was evaluated through peroxide value(PV), free fatty acid(FFA), anisidine value(p-AV), K_(270)value(conjugated trienes), total oxidation index(TOTOX), iodine value(IV), and fatty acid composition(FA). Our results revealed notable differences in stability tracking parameters. Specifically, these parameters were higher in samples stored under accelerated conditions, followed by the samples stored in ambient light, while those stored in darkness showed the highest stability among the three storage conditions. Supplementation of sunflower oil with SS and tocobiol significantly enhanced its oxidation stability. Notably, SS exhibited exceptional effectiveness in stabilizing sunflower oil regardless of SS dose, with the highest efficacy observed at 0.6%. This was evidenced by the slower rate of oxidation parameters under various storage conditions, highlighting a superior antioxidant activity compared to both the non-enriched oil and tocobiol-enriched oil. Kinetic study and DFT calculation on the tetracycline abatement by peracetic acid

Water contamination by tetracycline(TC)has emerged as an environmental concern owing to its widespread use and antibiotic *** of peracetic acid(PAA)in the water and wastewater treatment has recently been proposed and demonstrated to be effective for TC abatement,yet the underlying reaction kinetics between the PAA and TC are not yet *** explore the reaction kinetics,the effect of solution pH on TC abatement by PAA is studied and the species-specific rate constants are *** ability to donate and accept electrons for different species of TC and PAA is evaluated via density functional theory(DFT)*** pH-dependent apparent second-order rate constants of TC abatement by PAA exhibits the parabolic shape with the maximum at p H 8.5(9.75 l mol^(-1)s^(-1)).This phenomenon is closely related to the speciation of TC and PAA,in which the reaction between PAAH and TTC^(2-)possesses the highest species-specific rate constants according to the kinetic *** DFT calculations suggest that the HOMO of TTCH^(+),TTC,TTC^(-),TTC^(2-)and the lUMO of PAAH and PAA-are–6.40,–6.26,–5.10,–4.94 e V and–0.24,0.60 e V,*** to the DFT calculations,deprotonation of TC and PAA leads to an increase of the HOMO value of TC and the lUMO value of ***,the HOMOTC–lUMOPAAvalues is in good agreement with the trend of species-specific rate constants,which can be used to evaluate the reactivity between PAA and TC with different *** study provides the kinetic data and theoretical basis for the reaction of PAA and TC,which is critical for the application of PAA in the treatment of water and wastewater.

Effectiveness of biofertilizers foliar application on yield and quality traits of flax(linum usitatissimum l.)

Flax is considered to be one of the most significant dual-purpose crops for oil and fiber production in Egypt and *** have a substantial impact on various metabolic processes,including increased photo-synthesis,endogenous hormone levels,ion absorption,nucleic acid synthesis,and protein *** factors collectively contribute to the growth and development of ***,this study aims to investigate how three biofertilizers(Algae extract,CMS as a by-product of yeast,and Metalosate multi minerals as amino acids)can enhance both the quantity and quality of flax seed yield under sandy soil *** field experiments were conducted at the Experimental Station of National Research Centre in Nubaria District,Behira Governorate,Egypt during two seasons(2021/2022)using a randomized complete block design(RCBD).The results revealed significant differences among all tested biofertilizers in terms of various characteristics studied in *** application of algae extract at a rate of 1.50 ml/l resulted in an increase in seed yield(ton/ha)by 26.69%&19.89%,straw yield(ton/ha)by 8.08%&17.12%,and oil yield(kg/ha)by 47.72%&33.69%compared to the control group during both seasons *** applications of algae extract at a rate of 1.50 ml/l along with CMS at a rate of 5 m l/l and amino acids at a rate of 1.50 ml/l demonstrated significantly higher macronutrient contents(N,P,K),micronutrient contents(Fe,Zn,Mn),seed oil content,and protein content in flax seeds during both *** highest values for seed oil content and protein content%were obtained through foliar application of amino acids at a rate of 1.50 ml/*** can be concluded that foliar sprays with these bio-fertilizers effectively improved flax performance by increasing seed straw and oil yields,nutrients oil,protein and fatty acids seeds contents.

Corrosion Investigation by Scanning electrochemical Microscopy of AISI 446 and Ti-Coated AISI 446 Ferritic Stainless Steel as Potential Material for Bipolar Plate in PEMWE

The components of proton exchange membrane water electrolysers frequently experience corrosion issues, especially at high anodic polarization, that restrict the use of more affordable alternatives to titanium. Here, we investigate localized corrosion processes of bare and Ti-coated AISI 446 ferritic stainless steel under anodic polarization by scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) in sodium sulphate and potassium chloride solutions. SECM approach curves and area scans measured at open-circuit potential (OCP) of the samples in the feedback mode using a redox mediator evidence a negative feedback effect caused by the surface passive film. For the anodic polarization of the sample, the substrate generation-tip collection mode enables to observe local generation of iron (II) ions, as well as formation of molecular oxygen. For the uncoated AISI 446 sample, localized corrosion is detected in sodium sulphate solution simultaneously with oxygen formation at anodic potentials of 1.0 V vs. Ag/AgCl, whereas significant pitting corrosion is observed even at 0.2 V vs. Ag/AgCl in potassium chloride solution. The Ti-coated AISI 446 sample reveals enhanced corrosion resistance in both test solutions, without any evidence of iron (II) ions generation at anodic potentials of 1.2 V vs. Ag/AgCl, where only oxygen formation is observed.
