Carbon dots(Cdots)with a broad light absorption range could be a potential stable sensitizer for TiO2,which is an excellent ultraviolet(UV)response ***,we systematically investigated the different color emissive Cdots-sensitized TiO2 for H2 ***,all kinds of Cdots enhanced the photocatalytic properties of *** the Cdots-sensitized TiO2 exhibits visible light H2 production due to their absorption in the visible light *** photocurrent and H2 production amount display strong dependence on the light absorption range of *** blue-emissive Cdots endow the weak H2 production rate due to its weak absorption in the visible *** enhanced photocatalytic activities are mainly contributed to the strong light absorbance and high-efficient charge *** light absorption of green-and red-emissive Cdots is another main factor for the high catalytic activities besides charge separation.

Poly（propylene carbonate）（PPC） was melt blended in a batch mixer with poly（butylene carbonate）（PBC） in an effort to improve the toughness of the PPC without compromising its biodegradability and biocompatibility. DMA results showed that the PPC/PBC blends were an immiscible two-phase system. With the increase in PBC content, the PPC/PBC blends showed decreased tensile strength, however, the elongation at break was increased to 230% for the 50/50 PPC/PBC blend. From the tensile strength experiments, the Pukanszky model gave credit to the modest interfacial adhesion between PPC and PBC, although PPC/PBC was immscible. The impact strength increased significantly which indicated the toughening effects of the PBC on PPC. SEM examination showed that cavitation and shear yielding were the major toughening mechanisms in the blends subjected the impact tests. TGA measurements showed that the thermal stability of PPC decreased with the incorporation of PBC. Rheological investigation demonstrated that the addition of PBC reduced the value of storage modulus, loss modulus and complex viscosity of the PPC/PBC blends to some extent. Moreover, the addition of PBC was found to increase the processability of PPC in extrusion. The introduction of PBC provided an efficient and novel toughened method to extend the application area of PPC.

The existence and release of fluid inclusions in bornite and its associated minerals, namely, quartz and calcite were investigated and confirmed. The structures, forms, and phases of these large quantities of fluid inclusions were also studied. A mass of fluid inclusions with various sizes, distributions, shapes, and phases exist in bornite and its associated minerals. Their sizes vary from a few micrometers to tens of micrometers, and the forms appear as negative crystals, or elongated, elliptical, and irregular. At room temperature, fluid inclusions were mainly characterized as gas-liquid two- phase. However, small amounts of fluid inclusions with pure gas phase and pure liquid single-phase were also observed in quartz and calcite. These fluid inclusions initially broke during the ore crushing and grinding process and then released into the flotation pulp in the flotation process. The quantitative analysis of fluid inclusions in the solution and the comparisons of mineral dissolution show that the amount of copper and iron released by fluid inclusions in the bornite sample is higher than the amount dissolved by the mineral; fluid inclusions in the associated gangue minerals, quartz, and calcite also make contribution.

In order to improve the flexibility of poly（propylene carbonate）（PPC）, poly（1,2-propylene succinate）（PPSu） was used to plasticize PPC in a batch mixer. The effects of PPSu on the miscibility, thermal stability, mechanical and theological properties of the blends were investigated. PPC was partially miscible with PPSu. It was demonstrated that PPSu decreased the glass transition temperature and melt viscosity of PPC, as shown in the DSC and rheological curves. With the increase in PPSu content, the PPC/PPSu blends showed decreased tensile strength, however, the elongation at break was increased to 1100% for the 70/30 PPC/PPSu blend. The introduction of PPSu provided an efficient and novel plasticization method to extend the application area of PPC.

Extracellular amyloid beta(Aβ) plaques are main pathological feature of Alzheimer’s ***,the specific type of neuro ns that produce Aβ peptides in the initial stage of Alzheimer’s disease are *** this study,we found that 5-hydroxytryptamin receptor 3A subunit(HTR3A) was highly expressed in the brain tissue of transgenic amyloid precursor protein and presenilin-1 mice(an Alzheimer’s disease model) and patients with Alzheimer’s *** investigate whether HTR3A-positive interneurons are associated with the production of Aβ plaques,we performed double immunostaining and found that HTR3A-positive interneurons were clustered around Aβ plaques in the mouse *** amyloid precursor protein-positive or β-site amyloid precursor protein cleaving enzyme-1-positive neurites near Aβ plaques were co-localized with HTR3A *** results suggest that HTR3A-positive interneurons may partially contribute to the generation of Aβ *** treated 5.0-5.5-month-old model mice with tro pisetron,a HTR3 antagonist,for 8 consecutive *** found that the cognitive deficit of mice was partially reversed,Aβ plaques and neuroinflammation we re remarkably reduced,the expression of HTR3 was remarkably decreased and the calcineurin/nuclear factor of activated T-cell 4 signaling pathway was inhibited in treated model *** findings suggest that HTR3A interneurons partly contribute to generation of Aβ peptide at the initial stage of Alzheimer’s disease and inhibiting HTR3 partly reve rses the pathological changes of Alzheimer’s disease.

High-dimensional data(a dataset with many features)were collected from 64 sampling sites to analyze the water quality in estuaries along the coast of the Bohai Sea,North *** twenty-five water quality parameters analyzed were collected monthly from January 2021 to December *** statistical techniques,such as the absolute principal component score-multiple linear regression model(APCS-MLR),correlation analysis,and analysis of variance were used to identify and quantify the potential sources or factors affecting water quality and to analyze the spatial-temporal variation in water *** water quality indices(WQIs),ranging from 67.96 to 70.67,showed that the water quality was at an intermediate level in the estuaries during both the flood and nonflood *** concentrations of total phosphorus(TP),ammonia N(AN),and organic pollutants were greater in the Haihe River Basin than in the Liaohe River and Huanghe-Huaihe River *** concentration of total nitrogen(TN)in the Haihe River Basin was lower than that in the Liaohe River and Huanghe-Huaihe River *** metal concentrations in the Liaohe River Basin were greater than those in the Haihe River and Huanghe-Huaihe River *** annual mean concentrations of AN in the estuaries of the Haihe,Liaohe,and Huanghe(Yellow)rivers exhibited significant decreasing trends from 2013 to 2022,but no significant decreasing trends were found for permanganate index(COD_(Mn))or the *** concentrations of TN and AN were lower in the flood season than in the nonflood season,and the TP concentration was greater in the flood season than in the nonflood ***,the concentrations of organic pollutants did not exhibit significant *** sewage and industrial wastewater,substance exchange between air and water,nonpoint sources from rural and urban areas,and aquaculture wastewater were the major sources or factors responsible for water pollution in the estuaries.

AIM To investigate the antitumor activity of α-hederin in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) cells and its underlying mechanisms in vitro and in *** SMMC-7721, Hep G-2 and Huh-7 HCC cells were cultured in vitro and treated with α-hederin(0, 5 μmol/L, 10 μmol/L, 15 μmol/L, 20 μmol/L, 25 μmol/L, 30 μmol/L, 35 μmol/L, 40 μmol/L, 45 μmol/L, 50 μmol/L, 55 μmol/L, or 60 μmol/L) for 12 h, 24 h, or 36 h, and cell viability was then detected by the Cell Counting Kit-8. SMMC-7721cells were treated with 0, 5 μmol/L, 10 μmol/L, or 20 μmol/L α-hederin for 24 h with or without DL-buthionineS,R-sulfoximine(2 mmol/L) or N-acetylcysteine(5 mmol/L) pretreatment for 2 h, and additional assays were subsequently performed. Apoptosis was observed after Hoechst staining. Glutathione(GSH) and adenosine triphosphate(ATP) levels were measured using GSH and ATP Assay Kits. Intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS) levels were determined by measuring the oxidative conversion of 2',7'-dichlorofluorescin diacetate. Disruption of the mitochondrial membrane potential was evaluated using JC-1 staining. The protein levels of Bax, Bcl-2, cleaved caspase-3, cleaved caspase-9, apoptosis-inducing factor and cytochrome C were detected by western blotting. The antitumor efficacy of α-hederin in vivo was evaluated in a xenograft tumor *** The α-hederin treatment induced apoptosis of HCC cells. The apoptosis rates in the control, low-dose α-hederin(5 μmol/L), mid-dose α-hederin(10 μmol/L) and highdose α-hederin(20 μmol/L) groups were 0.90% ± 0.26%, 12% ± 2.0%, 21% ± 2.1% and 37% ± 3.8%, respectively(P < 0.05). The α-hederin treatment reduced intracellular GSH and ATP levels, induced ROS, disrupted the mitochondrial membrane potential, increased the protein levels of Bax, cleaved caspase-3, cleaved caspase-9, apoptosis-inducing factor and cytochrome C, and decreased Bcl-2 expression. Objective:Ginkgo biloba leaves,as an herbal medicine or dietary supplement,have been widely used *** this study,an integrated analytical method was established for the comprehensive analysis of flavonoids in *** *** and Methods:A practical chromatographic method combining high-performance liquid chromatography fingerprint analysis and quantitation was used to simultaneously determine 11 flavonoids(6 flavonol glycosides and 5 biflavones)in *** leaves from different ***:A total of 11 characteristic peaks were identified accurately,and the similarity of fingerprints ranged from 0.944 to *** validation revealed appropriate linearity(R^(2)≥0.9997),precision,repeatability,stability,and *** total contents of the six flavonol glycosides and five biflavones were within the range of 2.142-8.378 mg/g and 3.759-5.675 mg/g in 19 batches of samples,*** them,two coumaroyl flavonol glycosides were the predominant ***:In this study,a convenient and reliable approach was successfully employed for the comprehensive evaluation of flavonoids in *** leaves,which also provided a reference for its quality standard.

Superhydrophobic and corrosion-resistant siloxane-modified MgAl-LDHs coatings on magnesium alloy prepared under mild conditions

We have developed a superhydrophobic and corrosion-resistant LDH-W/PFDTMS composite coating on the surface of Mg *** composite comprised a tungstate-intercalated(LDH-W)underlayer that was grown at low temperature(relative to hydrothermal reaction conditions)under atmospheric pressure and an outer polysiloxane layer created from a solution containing perfluorodecyltrimethoxysilane(PFDTMS)using a simple immersion *** successful intercalation of tungstate into the LDH phase and the following formation of the polysiloxane layer were confirmed through X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The corrosion resistance of the LDH-W film,both before and after the PFDTMS modification,was evaluated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS),Tafel curves,and immersion *** results showed that Mg coated with LDH-W/PFDTMS exhibited significantly enhanced corrosion protection compared to the unmodified LDHW film,with no apparent signs of corrosion after exposure to 3.5wt%NaCl solution for 15 ***,the LDH-W/PFDTMS coating demonstrated superior superhydrophobicity and self-cleaning properties against water and several common beverages,as confirmed by static contact angle and water-repellency *** results offer valuable insights into preparing superhydrophobic and corrosion-resistant LDH-based composite coatings on Mg alloy surfaces under relatively mild reaction conditions.
