Effect of an Airbag-selective Portal Vein Blood Arrester on the Liver after Hepatectomy:A New Technique for Selective Clamping of the Portal Vein

Objective:A novel technique was explored using an airbag-selective portal vein blood arrester that circumvents the need for an intraoperative assessment of anatomical variations in patients with complex intrahepatic space-occupying ***:Rabbits undergoing hepatectomy were randomly assigned to 4 groups:intermittent portal triad clamping(PTC),intermittent portal vein clamping(PVC),intermittent portal vein blocker with an airbag-selective portal vein blood arrester(APC),and without portal blood occlusion(control).Hepatic ischemia and reperfusion injury were assessed by measuring the 7-day survival rate,blood loss,liver function,hepatic pathology,hepatic inflammatory cytokine infiltration,hepatic malondialdehyde levels,and proliferating cell nuclear antigen ***:Liver damage was substantially reduced in the APC and PVC *** APC animals exhibited transaminase levels similar to or less oxidative stress damage and inflammatory hepatocellular injury compared to those exhibited by the PVC *** was significantly higher in the control group than in the other *** APC group had less bleeding than the PVC group because of the avoidance of portal vein skeletonization during ***,more operative time was saved in the APC group than in the PVC ***,the total 7-day survival rate in the APC group was higher than that in the PTC ***:Airbag-selective portal vein blood arresters may help protect against hepatic ischemia and reperfusion injury in rabbits undergoing partial *** technique may also help prevent liver damage in patients requiring hepatectomy.

Seismic design analysis of the country masonry school buildings in the meizoseismal area

Several reinforcing schemes are illustrated that are based on the loading characteristics of typical country masonry school buildings with sparsely spaced transversal walls and large depth. From the seismic damage observed following the Wenchuan Earthquake, the effects of reinforcing schemes, tie-columns and tie-beams on the seismic resistance of masonry buildings are analyzed. The concept of improving the ductility of these types of buildings is presented. Finally, some suggestions are proposed for the design of masonry buildings with sparsely spaced transversal walls and large depth.

ZnO-MWCNTs/Nafion inorganic-organic composite film:Preparation and application in bioelectrochemistry of hemoglobin

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes （MWCNTs） were coated with ZnO by a hydrothermal method. The resulting nanocomposites were mixed with the Nation solution to form a composite matrix for the fabrication of hemoglobin （Hb） biosensor. To prevent the leak of Hb molecules of the biosensor, silica sol-gel film was coated on the surface of the Hb/ZnO-MWCNTs/Nafion electrode. The silica sol-gel/Hb/ZnO-MWCNTs/Nafion film exhibited a pair of well-defined, quasi-reversible redox peaks. This biosensor showed excellent electrocataiytic activity to H2O2. The sensitivity and apparent Michaelis-Menten constant of this Hb biosensor to H2O2 were 1.31 A/（M cm^2） and 82.8 μmol/L, respectively, which indicated that Hb had high affinity to H2O2.

Third generation biosensor based on myoglobin-TiO_2/MWCNTs modified glassy carbon electrode

TiO2 nanoparticles were homogeneously coated on multi-walled carbon nanotubes by hydrothermal deposition, this nanocomposite may be a promising material for myoglobin immobilization in view of its high biocompatibility and large surface. The glassy carbon electrode modified with Mb-TiO2/MWCNTs films exhibited a pair of weU defined, stable and nearly reversible cycle voltammetric peaks. The electron transfer between Mb and electrode surface, Ks of 3.08 s^-1, was greatly facilitated in the TiO2/ MWCNTs film. The electrocatalytic reductions of hydrogen peroxide were studied, the apparent Michaelis-Menten constant is calculated to be 83.10 μmol/L, which shows a large catalytic activity of Mb in the TiO2/MWCNTs film to H2O2.

Field investigation and numerical simulation on rockfalls in Zhangmu Town, Tibet, China

Zhangmu Town in Tibet of China,which lies in the southern piedmont of the median Himalayas,is a small but strategically important port of trade exchange between China and *** rockfall events have occurred in Zhangmu since 1970,resulting in huge economic losses and serious influence on the bilateral *** conducted a detailed field investigation on the high and steep slope in Zhangmu Town,and analyzed the distribution features,stability,failure modes and evolution of dangerous rocks of potential *** we numerically simulated the movement path,velocity and accumulation forms of the rockfall with PFC^(3D) *** results indicated that the dangerous rock belt could be divided into three sections,namely,unstable section,slightly stable section and basically stable *** was estimated that the rock debris and single dangerous rock would be unstable in the case of earthquakes or *** to the terrain constraints,the fallen rocks would scatter near the mouth of the Zhangmu ditch and in the Buqu River through multiple times of rolling,collision-induced diversion and *** reinforcement,the rockfall could cause serious damage to the car parks,gas stations and National Highway 318 along the line from Zhangmu Town to Zhangmu *** on the field survey and numerical simulation,we recommended rockfall removal and interception as the major prevention measures,and protective sheds as auxiliary measure.

Rapid detection of intestinal pathogens in fecal samples by an improved reverse dot blot method

AIM:To develop a new, rapid and accurate reverse dot blot(RDB) method for the detection of intestinal pathogens in fecal ***:The 12 intestinal pathogens tested were Salmonella spp., Brucella spp., Escherichia coli O157:H7, Clostridium botulinum , Bacillus cereus , Clostridium perfringens , Vibrio parahaemolyticus , Shigella spp., Yersinia enterocolitica, Vibrio cholerae, Listeria monocytogenes and Staphylococcus *** two universal primers were designed to amplify two variable regions of bacterial 16S and 23S rDNA genes from all of the 12 bacterial species *** hundred and forty fecal samples from the diarrhea patients were detected using the improved RDB ***:The methods could identify the 12 intestinal pathogens specifi cally, and the detection limit was as low as 103 *** consistent detection rate of the improved RDB assay compared with the traditional culture method was up to 88.75%.CONCLUSION:The hybridization results indicated that the improved RDB assay developed was a reliable method for the detection of intestinal pathogen in fecal samples.

目的系统评价Deucravacitinib治疗中重度斑块型银屑病的有效性和安全性。方法计算机检索PubMed、Embase、Cochrane图书馆、***、中国生物医学文献数据库、维普网和万方数据库等,检索时限均为建库起至2022年10月,收集Deucravacitinib与安慰剂比较的随机对照试验。筛选符合纳入标准的研究后,采用Cochrane系统评价员手册5.1.0提供的偏倚风险评估工具评价纳入研究的质量,并以改良的Jadad量表对文献质量进行评分,使用RevMan 5.4软件进行Meta分析。结果共纳入3篇研究,共计1953例患者。Meta分析结果显示,试验组的银屑病面积和严重程度指数评分较基线降低75%的患者比例(PASI 75)[RR=5.36,95%CI(4.07,7.06),P0.05)。结论Deucravacitinib治疗中重度斑块型银屑病有效,不良反应多为轻中度,且患者表现出较好的依从性和耐受性,有望成为临床治疗中重度斑块型银屑病的新方法。

Colorimetric detection of glucose using a boronic acid derivative receptor attached to unmodified AuNPs

A simple, cheap and non-enzymatic colorimetric strategy for glucose detection has been designed based on the interactions between a phenylboronic acid （PBA） derivative, which is coupled with gold nanoparticles （AuNPs） as the colorimetric reporters, and glucose. The PBA-AuNPs hybrid system proposed here exhibits ordered photochemistry behaviors upon the addition of glucose at different pH values. There are two linear regions of glucose concentration for the glucose sensor at different pH values, i.e., between 0.1 mmol/L and 9.8 mmol/L at pH 6 with the detection limit of 64μmol/L and between 0 and 6.5 mmol/L with the detection limit of 48 μmol/L at pH 9, respectively. To test the practicality of the sensor system, we also applied this assay to detect a glucose sample in the artificial saliva.
