Time Domain Signal Analysis Using Wavelet Packet Decomposition Approach

This paper explains a study conducted based on wavelet packet transform techniques. In this paper the key idea underlying the construction of wavelet packet analysis (WPA) with various wavelet basis sets is elaborated. Since wavelet packet decomposition can provide more precise frequency resolution than wavelet decomposition the implementation of one dimensional wavelet packet transform and their usefulness in time signal analysis and synthesis is illustrated. A mother or basis wavelet is first chosen for five wavelet filter families such as Haar, Daubechies (Db4), Coiflet, Symlet and dmey. The signal is then decomposed to a set of scaled and translated versions of the mother wavelet also known as time and frequency parameters. Analysis and synthesis of the time signal is performed around 8 seconds to 25 seconds. This was conducted to determine the effect of the choice of mother wavelet on the time signals. Results are also prepared for the comparison of the signal at each decomposition level. The physical changes that are occurred during each decomposition level can be observed from the results. The results show that wavelet filter with WPA are useful for analysis and synthesis purpose. In terms of signal quality and the time required for the analysis and synthesis, the Haar wavelet has been seen to be the best mother wavelet. This is taken from the analysis of the signal to noise ratio (SNR) value which is around 300 dB to 315 dB for the four decomposition levels.

This paper is the extension of our previous work entitled "Searching a systematics for nonfactorizable contributions to B-and ■ hadronic decays".Obtaining the factorizable contributions from the spectator-quark model for Nc=3,a systematic s was identified among the iso spin reduced amplitudes for the nonfactorizable terms among ■→Dπ/D*π/Dρ decay *** systematics enables us to derive a generic formula to help predict the branching fractions for ■-*** by this observation,we extend our analysis to p-wave meson emitting decays of B-meson ■→PA/PT/PS,particularly ■→a1D/πD1/πD'1/πrD2/πD0,which have similar isospin structures and make predictions for B0-decays,for which experimental measurements are not yet available.

Restructuring of power market not only introduces competition but also brings complexity which increases overloading of Transmission Lines(TL).To obviate this complexity,this paper aims to mitigate the overloading and estimate the optimal location of Static Synchronous Compensator(STATCOM) by reducing congestion for a deregulated power *** proposed method is based on the use of Locational Marginal Price(LMP) difference technique and congestion *** are obtained as a by-product of Optimal Power Flow(OPF),whereas Congestion Cost(CC) is a function of difference in LMP and power *** effiectiveness of this approach is demonstrated by reducing the CC and solution space which can identify the TLs more suitable for placement of ***,total real power loss,reactive power loss and total CC are the three main objective functions in this optimization *** process is implemented by developing an IEEE-69 bus test system which verifies and validates the effectiveness of proposed optimization ***,a comparative analysis is enumerated by implementing two optimization techniques:Flower Pollination Algorithm(FPA) and Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO).The comparative analysis is sufficient to demonstrate the superiority of FPA technique over PSO technique in estimating an optimal placement of a *** results from the load-flow analysis illustrate the reduction in CC,total real and reactive power loss using FPA technique compared to PSO ***,satisfactory results are obtained without using complex calculations which verify the effectiveness of optimization techniques.

Cardiac resynchronization therapy(CRT)reduces heart failure(HF)hospitaliz-ations and all-cause mortality in patients with HF with reduced ejection fraction with left bundle branch(LBB)*** pacing(BVP)is considered the gold standard for achieving CRT;however,approximately 30%–40%of patients do not respond to *** studies have demonstrated that LBB pacing(LBBP)produces remarkable results in *** this meta-analysis,LBBP-CRT showed better outcomes than conventional BVP-CRT,including greater QRS duration reduction and left ventricular ejection fraction improvement,along with consistently lower pacing thresholds on ***,there was a grea-ter reduction in New York Heart Association class and brain natriuretic peptide *** study contributes to the growing body of encouraging data on LBBP-CRT from recent *** ongoing technological advancements and increasing operator expertise,the day may not be far when LBBP-CRT becomes the standard of care rather than the exception.

Impinging jet arrays are extensively used in numerous industrial operations, including the cooling of electronics, turbine blades, and other high-heat flux systems because of their superior heat transfer capabilities. Optimizing the design and operating parameters of such systems is essential to enhance cooling efficiency and achieve uniform pressure distribution, which can lead to improved system performance and energy savings. This paper presents two multi-objective optimization methodologies for a turbulent air jet impingement cooling system. The governing equations are resolved employing the commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software ANSYS Fluent v17. The study focuses on four controlling parameters: Reynolds number (Re), swirl number (S), jet-to-jet separation distance (Z/D), and impingement height (H/D). The effects of these parameters on heat transfer and impingement pressure distribution are investigated. Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II) and Weighted Sum Method (WSM) are employed to optimize the controlling parameters for maximum cooling performance. The aim is to identify optimal design parameters and system configurations that enhance heat transfer efficiency while achieving a uniform impingement pressure distribution. These findings have practical implications for applications requiring efficient cooling. The optimized design achieved a 12.28% increase in convective heat transfer efficiency with a local Nusselt number of 113.05 compared to 100.69 in the reference design. Enhanced convective cooling and heat flux were observed in the optimized configuration, particularly in areas of direct jet impingement. Additionally, the optimized design maintained lower wall temperatures, demonstrating more effective thermal dissipation.

Red tinted contact lenses on Ishihara test error scores in color deficient subjects:a pilot study

AIM:To compare the Ishihara test errors scores of colour vision deficiency(CVD)subjects when wearing four different types of red-tinted contact lenses(RCL)that differ in their transmittance as determined using a ***:Six congenital CVD subjects volunteered to participate in this *** plates were used to determine the colour vision errors made,whereas Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue test was conducted to determine the total error scores(TES)and type of *** types of RCL(Types A,B,C and D)were inserted in the non-dominant eye and tested in a randomised manner by a masked *** scores in Ishihara test were determined at baseline without any contact lens and after wearing the four different *** subjects were then divided into two groups based on the mean ***:Repeated measures ANOVA with Greenhouse-Geisser corrections showed that there was a highly significant effect of RCL type on Ishihara error score[F(2.056,10.282)=30.214,P<0.001].Error scores with RCL Type B were significantly lower than errors made when no lens was worn,and with RCL Type C and Type D(all P<0.001).Error scores with RCL Type B were also lower than those made with RCL Type A,however,they were not significantly *** subjects with TES values less than 180,RCL type B showed the largest improvement in Ishihara error score(50%)compared to the other three *** type A showed the best performance in TES value of more than 180,with an improvement of 80%in Ishihara *** Type A has the lowest transmittance at the confusion wavelength(450-568 nm),followed by RCL Types B,D and ***:This study shows that RCL can improve Ishihara error *** with lower transmission at 450-568 nm and 90%transmittance beyond 637 nm are the most *** which could block more light between 550-580 nm are more effective for colour defectives with more severe colour defects.
