t We propose a framework for automatic fall detection based on video visual feature extraction. The proposed approach relies on a membership histogram descriptor that encodes the visual properties of the video frames. This descriptor is obtained by mapping the original low-level visual features to a more discriminative descriptor using possibilistic memberships. This mapping can be summarized in two main phases. The first one consists in categorizing the low-level visual features of the video frames arid generating homogeneous clusters in an unsupervised way. The second phase uses the obtained membership degrees generated by the clustering process to compute the membership based histogram descriptor （MHD）. For the testing stage, the proposed fall detection approach categorizes unlabeled videos as ＂Fall＂ or ＂Non-Fall＂ scene using a possibilistic K-nearest neighbors classifier. The proposed approach is assessed using standard videos dataset that simulates patient fall. Also, we compare its performance with that of state-of-the-art fall detection techniques.

With the advancement of technology,shielding for terahertz(THz)electronic and communication equipment is increasingly *** metamaterial absorption technique is mostly used to shield electromagnetic interference(EMI)in THz sensing *** most widely used THz metamaterial absorbers suffer from their narrowband properties and the involvement of complex fabrication *** with multifunctional properties,such as adjustable conductivity,broad bandwidth,high flexibility,and robustness,are driving future development to meet THz shielding *** this article,a theoretical simulation approach based on finite difference time domain(FDTD)is utilized to study the absorption and shielding characteristics of a two-dimensional(2D)MXene Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) metasurface absorber in the THz *** proposed metamaterial structure is made up of a square-shaped array of MXene that is 50 nmthick and is placed on top of a silicon *** bottom surface of the silicon is metalized with gold to reduce the transmission and ultimately enhance the absorption at 1–3 *** symmetric adjacent space between theMXene array results in a widening of *** proposed metasurface achieves 96%absorption under normal illumination of the incident source and acquires an average of 25 dB shielding at 1 THz bandwidth,with the peak shielding reaching 65 *** results show that 2D MXene-based stacked metasurfaces can be proven in the realization of low-cost devices for THz shielding and sensing applications.

In this paper, we propose an automatic image based smoke detection using source separation. In particular, we assume that the region of interest(smoke region) is a linear combination of smoke and background pixels, and we estimate the smoke component. More specifically, we extend the linear hyperspectral unmixing techniques to the context of image based smoke detection in order to separate the smoke component from the background. The proposed approach yields promising results especially with smoke images captured outdoor.

AIM: To investigate the benefits of insulin like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) supplementation to serum-free institut georges lopez-1 (IGL-1) solution to protect fatty liver against cold ischemia reperfusion injury. METHODS: Steatotic livers were preserved for 24 h in IGL-1  solution supplemented with or without IGF-1 and then perfused "ex vivo " for 2 h at 37℃. We examined the effects of IGF-1 on hepatic damage and function (transaminases, percentage of sulfobromophthalein clearance in bile and vascular resistance). We also studied other factors associated with the poor tolerance of fatty livers to cold ischemia reperfusion injury such as mitochondrial damage, oxidative stress, nitric oxide, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and mitogen-activated protein ***: Steatotic livers preserved in IGL-1 solutionsupplemented with IGF-1 showed lower transaminase levels, increased bile clearance and a reduction in vascular resistance when compared to those preserved in IGL-1solution alone. These benefits are mediated by activation of AKT and constitutive endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS), as well as the inhibition of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α. Mitochondrial damage and oxidative stress were also ***: IGL-1  enrichment with IGF-1 increasedfatty liver graft preservation through AKT and eNOS activation, and prevented TNF-α release during normothermic reperfusion.

Considering the ongoing climate transformations, the appropriate and reliable phenotyping information of plant leaves is quite significant for early detection of disease, yield improvement. In real-life digital agricultural environment, the real-time prediction and identification of living plants leaves has immensely grown in recent years. Hence, cost-effective and automated and timely detection of plans species is vital for sustainable agriculture. This paper presents a novel, non-invasive method aiming to establish a feasible, and viable technique for the precise identification and observation of altering behaviour of plants species at cellular level for four consecutive days by integrating machine learning (ML) and THz with a swissto12 materials characterization kit (MCK) in the frequency range of 0.75 to 1.1 THz. For this purpose, measurements observations data of seven various living plants leaves were determined and incorporate three different ML algorithms such as random forest (RF), support vector machine, (SVM), and K-nearest neighbour (KNN). The results demonstrated that RF exhibited higher accuracy of 98.87% followed by KNN and SVM with an accuracy of 94.64% and 89.67%, respectively, for precise detection of different leaves by observing their morphological features. In addition, RF outperformed other classifiers for determination of water-stressed leaves and having an accuracy of 99.42%. It is envisioned that proposed study can be proven beneficial and vital in digital agriculture technology for the timely detection of plants species to significantly help in mitigate yield and economic losses and improve crops quality.

The world has been suffering from the Coronavirus(COVID-19)pandemic since its appearance in late ***-19 spread has led to a drastic increase of the number of infected people and deaths *** and accurate diagnosis of positive cases emerged as a natural alternative to reduce the number of serious infections and limit the spread of the *** this paper,we proposed an X-ray based COVID-19 classification system that aims at diagnosing positive COVID-19 ***,we adapted lightweight versions of EfficientNet as backbone of the proposed recognition ***,lightweight EfficientNet networks were used to build classification models able to discriminate between positive and negative COVID-19 cases using chest X-ray *** proposed models ensure a trade-off between scaling down the architecture of the deep network to reduce the computational cost and optimizing the classification *** the experiments,a public dataset containing 7,345 chest X-ray images was used to train,validate and test the proposed models for binary and multiclass classification problems,*** obtained results showed the EfficientNet-elite-B9-V2,which is the lightest proposed model yielded an accuracy of 96%.On the other hand,EfficientNet-lite-B0 overtook the other models,and achieved an accuracy of 99%.

The Infectious Tricuspid Endocarditis in ICU： Clinical Features, Management and Outcome

Objectives： Infectious tricuspid endocarditis is known to simply require antibiotherapy and to have good prognosis in most cases. Few studies focused on severe episodes managed in ICU. We aimed to describe clinical and microbiological features, and fmal outcome of infectious tricuspid endocarditis managed in ICU. Methods： From 1 January 2009 to 31 August 2017, all patients hospitalized in intensive care unit with infectious tricuspid endocarditis were enrolled. Key findings： We collected 15 episodes of infectious tricuspid endocarditis. Median age was of 39 years. Risk factors were： intravenous drug users （n = 10）, pace maker （n = 1）, vascular device （n = 2）, none （n = 2）. Median SAPS II, APACHE II and SOFA on admission were 21, 10 and 2 respectively. Organ failures on admission were： acute respiratory failure （n = 10）, sepsis （n = 7）, coma （n = 1） and acute kidney injury （n = 8）. The most frequent causative pathogen was Staphylococcus Aureus. Antibiotherapy failure happened in 10 patients from whom 8 underwent cardiac surgery （53.3%）. Most frequent complications were acute kidney injury （n = 14） and withdrawal syndrom. Infectious tricuspid endocarditis relapse on bioprosthesis occurred within 2 intravenous drug users after hospital discharge. Overall in-hospital mortality was 40%. Conclusions： Infectious tricuspid endocarditis in ICU is fitted with poor prognosis and high need to cardiac surgery. Special care should be provided to intravenous drug users to prevent relapse.

AIM:To examine the relevance of hypoxia inducible factor(HIF-1)and nitric oxide(NO)on the preservation of fatty liver against cold ischemia-reperfusion injury(IRI). METHODS:We used an isolated perfused rat liver model and we evaluated HIF-1αin steatotic and non-steatotic livers preserved for 24 h at 4℃in University of Wisconsin and IGL-1 solutions,and then subjected to 2 h of normothermic *** normoxic reperfusion,liver enzymes,bile production,bromosulfophthalein clearance,as well as HIF-1αand NO[endothelial NO synthase(eNOS)activity and nitrites/nitrates]were also *** factors associated with the higher susceptibility of steatotic livers to IRI,such as mitochondrial damage and vascular resistance were evaluated. RESULTS:A significant increase in HIF-1αwas found in steatotic and non-steatotic livers preserved in IGL-1 after cold *** preserved in IGL-1 showed a significant attenuation of liver injury and improvement in liver function *** benefits were enhanced by the addition of trimetazidine(an antiischemic drug),which induces NO and eNOS activation, to IGL-1 *** normoxic reperfusion,the presence of NO favors HIF-1αaccumulation,promoting also the activation of other cytoprotective genes,such as hemeoxygenase-1. CONCLUSION:We found evidence for the role of the HIF-1α/NO system in fatty liver preservation,especially when IGL-1 solution is used.
