Slits have been widely used in laser.plasma inter.ctions as plasma optical components for.gener.ting high-har.onic light and contr.lling laser.dr.ven par.icle ***,we pr.pose and demonstr.te that per.odic thin slits can be r.gar.ed as a new br.ed of optical elements for.efficient focusing and guiding of intense laser.*** fundamental physics of intense laser.inter.ction with thin slits is studied,and it is r.vealed that r.lativistic effects can lead to enhanced laser.focusing far.beyond the pur. diffr.ctive focusing *** addition,the inter.ction of an intense laser.pulse with per.odic thin slits makes it feasible to achieve multifold enhancement in both laser.intensity and ener.y tr.nsfer.efficiency compar.d with conventional *** r.sults pr.vide a novel method for.manipulating ultr.-intense laser.pulses and should be of inter.st for.many laser.based applications.

We investigated ^(50,52-54)Cr.induced fusion r.actions for.the synthesis of the super.eavy element in the 104≤Z≤122 *** cr.ss sections pr.duced in this investigation using ^(54)Cr.pr.jectiles wer. compar.d with those obtained in pr.or.*** estimated cr.ss sections fr.m this analysis ar. consistent with the findings of pr.or.*** the cur.ent study,the pr.dicted cr.ss section was found to be 42fb at 236 MeV for.^(53)Cr.^(243)Am,23.2 fb at 236 MeV for.^(54)Cr.^(247)Cm,95.6 fb at 240 MeV for.^(53)Cr.248Bk,and 1.33 fb at 242 MeV for.^(53)Cr.***,these pr.jected cr.ss sections with excitation ener.y and beam ener.y will be useful in futur. Cr.induced fusion r.action investigations.

The electr.chemical CO_(2) r.duction r.action(CO_(2)r.) to contr.llable chemicals is consider.d as a pr.mising pathway to stor. inter.ittent r.newable ener.y. Her.in, a set of catalysts based on copper.nitr.gendoped car.on xer.gel(Cu-n-C) ar. successfully developed var.ing the copper.amount and the natur. of the copper.pr.cur.or. for.the efficient CO_(2)r.. The electr.catalytic per.or.ance of Cu-n-C mater.als is assessed by a r.tating r.ng-disc electr.de(r.DE), technique still r.r.ly explor.d for.CO_(2)r.. For.compar.son, pr.ducts ar. also char.cter.zed by online gas chr.matogr.phy in a H-cell. The as-synthesized Cu-nC catalysts ar. found to be active and highly CO selective at low over.otentials(fr.m -0.6 to -0.8 V ***) in 0.1 M KHCO_(3), while H_(2) fr.m the competitive water.r.duction appear. at lar.er.over.otentials(-0.9 V vs. r.E). The optimum copper.acetate-der.ved catalyst containing Cu-n_(4) moieties exhibits a CO_(2)-to-CO tur.over.fr.quency of 997 h^(-1) at -0.9 V vs. r.E with a H_(2)/CO r.tio of 1.8. These r.sults demonstr.te that r.DE configur.tion can be used as a feasible appr.ach for.identifying electr.lysis pr.ducts fr.m CO_(2)r..
