Thiolate(SR)-protected gold nanoclusters(Aun(SR)m NCs)are a rare type of material capable of simultaneously exhibiting multiple physicochemical properties well-suited to specific applications,including photoluminescence,thermocatalysis,electrocatalysis,photocatalysis,magnetism,and optical *** the past several decades,there has been tremendous progress in our understanding of the structure and physicochemical properties of Aun(SR)m NCs,resulting in the ability to fine-tune the characteristics of these *** is therefore helpful to examine the extent to which the properties of Aun(SR)m and related metal NCs can now be adjusted based on *** review presents representative examples of previous studies concerning the geometry,electronic structure,luminescence properties,catalysis,magnetism and optical activity of Aun(SR)m and related metal NCs and discusses the current status of the designability of these NCs to impart specific structural and physicochemical *** information is expected to accelerate the fabrication of highly functional materials based on Aun(SR)m and related metal NCs.

Barley(Hordeum vulgare ***)is one of the first crops to be domesticated and is adapted to a wide range of *** barley germplasm collections possess valuable allelic variations that could further improve barley *** barley genomics has offered a global picture of allelic variation among varieties and its association with various agronomic traits,polymorphisms from East Asian varieties remain *** this study,we analyze exome polymorphisms in a panel of 274 barley varieties collected worldwide,including 137 varieties from East Asian countries and *** reveal the underlying population structure and conduct genome-wide association studies for 10 agronomic ***,we examin genome-wide associations for traits related to grain size such as awn length and glume *** results demonstrate the value of diverse barley germplasm panels containing Eastern varieties,highlighting their distinct genomic signatures relative to Western subpopulations.

Cardiogenic Shock Caused by a Large Sub-Epicardial Hematoma Complicating Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

A 56-year-old man with a history of old myocardial infarction and coronary artery bypass grafting was performed percutaneous coronary intervention to the totally occluded lesion of native left anterior descending artery. He developed a coronary arterial perforation that led to a large dissecting sub-epicardial hematoma. Emergent surgery was performed, and a large hematoma was removed from the sub-epicardial space. Continuous drainage of blood was observed after surgery, and the patient died due to the development of multiorgan dysfunction. An autopsy revealed an extensive sub-epicardial hematoma on the lateral wall of the left ventricle and broad necrosis of the myocardium in the lateral wall.

Production of Multi-Features Driven Nationwide Vegetation Physiognomic Map and Comparison to MODIS Land Cover Type Product

Irrespective of several attempts to land use/cover mapping at local, regional, or global scales, mapping of vegetation physiognomic types is limited and challenging. The main objective of the research is to produce an accurate nationwide vegetation physiognomic map by using automated machine learning approach with the support of reference data. A time-series of the multi-spectral and multi-indices data derived from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) were exploited along with the land-surface slope data. Reliable reference data of the vegetation physiognomic types were prepared by refining the existing vegetation survey data available in the country. The Random Forests based mapping framework adopted in the research showed high performance (Overall accuracy = 0.82, Kappa coefficient = 0.79) using 148 optimum number of features out of 231 featured used. A nationwide vegetation physiognomic map of year 2013 was produced in the research. The resulted map was compared to the existing MODIS Land Cover Type (MCD12Q1) product of year 2013. A huge difference was found between two maps. Validation with the reference data showed that the MCD12Q1 product did not work satisfactorily in Japan. The outcome of the research highlights the possibility of improving the accuracy of the MCD12Q1 product with special focus on reference data.
