Let X be a topological *** this survey the authors consider several types of configuration spaces,namely,the classical(usual)configuration spaces F_n(X)and D_n(X),the orbit configuration spaces F_n^G(X)and F_n^G(X)/S_nwith respect to a free action of a group G on X,and the graph configuration spaces F_n~Γ(X)and F_n~Γ(X)/H,whereΓis a graph and H is a suitable subgroup of the symmetric group S_*** ordered configuration spaces F_n(X),F_n^G(X),F_n~Γ(X)are all subsets of the n-fold Cartesian product ∏_1~nX of X with itself,and satisfy F_n^G(X)?F_n(X)?F_n~Γ(X)?∏_1~*** A denotes one of these configuration spaces,the authors analyse the difference between A and ∏_1~nXfrom a topological and homotopical point of *** principal results known in the literature concern the usual configuration *** authors are particularly interested in the homomorphism on the level of the homotopy groups of the spaces induced by the inclusionι:A-→∏_1~nX,the homotopy type of the homotopy fibre I_ιof the mapιvia certain constructions on various spaces that depend on X,and the long exact sequence in homotopy of the fibration involving I_ιand arising from the inclusionι.In this respect,if X is either a surface without boundary,in particular if X is the 2-sphere or the real projective plane,or a space whose universal covering is contractible,or an orbit space S^k/Gof the k-dimensional sphere by a free action of a Lie group G,the authors present recent results obtained by themselves for the first case,and in collaboration with Golasi′nski for the second and third *** authors also briefly indicate some older results relative to the homotopy of these spaces that are related to the problems of *** order to motivate various questions,for the remaining types of configuration spaces,a few of their basic properties are described and proved.A list of open questions and problems is given at the end of the paper.

For each based map f : X → RP2from a closed surface into the real projective plane, we compute its absolute and twisted degrees and describe the action of the fundamental group of RP2over the based homotopy class of f. We emphasize the finding that for any nonorientable closed surface,there exists only one based homotopy class of maps from it into RP2whose maps have twisted degree zero and absolute degree nonzero – which shows that, unlike the absolute degree, the twisted degree is not able to detect the strong surjectivity in this setting. In all the other scenarios, the absolute degree of each map is either equal to the twisted degree or its absolute value – and so the twisted degree detects strong surjectivity.

In this paper, we explore the fixed point theory of n-valued maps using configuration spaces and braid groups, focusing on two fundamental problems, the Wecken property, and the computation of the Nielsen number. We show that the projective plane(resp. the 2-sphere S^2) has the Wecken property for n-valued maps for all n ∈ N(resp. all n 3). In the case n = 2 and S^2, we prove a partial result about the Wecken *** then describe the Nielsen number of a non-split n-valued map ? : X■X of an orientable, compact manifold without boundary in terms of the Nielsen coincidence numbers of a certain finite covering q : X → X with a subset of the coordinate maps of a lift of the n-valued split map ? ? q : X■X.

An improved flexible tolerance method for solving nonlinear constrained optimization problems:Application in mass integration

This paper proposes the use of the flexible tolerance method(FTM) modified with adaptive Nelder–Mead parameters and barrier to solve constrained optimization problems. The problems used to analyze the performance of the methods were taken from G-Suite functions, and the methods with the best performance were applied in mass integration problems. Four methods were proposed:(1) flexible tolerance method(FTM) using adaptive parameters(FTMA),(2) flexible tolerance method with scaling(FTMS) and with adaptive parameters(FTMAS),(3) FTMS including the barrier modification(MFTMS) and(4) MFTMS hybridized with PSO(MFTMS-PSO). The success rates of these methods were 100%(MFTMS), 85%(MFTMS-PSO), 40%(FTMAS) and 30%(FTMA).Numerical experiments indicated that the MFTMS could efficiently and reliably improve the accuracy of global optima. In mass integration, the method was able, from current process situation, to reach the optimum process configuration that includes integration issues, which was not possible using FTM in its standard formulation. The hybridization of FTMS with PSO(without barrier), FTMS-PSO, was also able to solve mass integration problems efficiently.

This paper proposes the use of the flexible tolerance method(FTM) modified with scaling of variables and hybridized with different unconstrained optimization methods to solve real constrained optimization *** benchmark problems used to analyze the performance of the methods were taken from G-Suite *** original method(FTM) and other four proposed methods:(i) FTM with scaling of variables(FTMS),(ii) FTMS hybridized with BFGS(FTMS-BFGS),(iii) FTMS hybridized with modified Powell's method(FTMS-Powell)and(iv) FTMS hybridized with PSO(FTMS-PSO), were implemented. The success rates of the methods were 80%,100%, 75%, 95% and 85%, for FTM, FTMS, FTMS-BFGS, FTMS-Powell and FTMS-PSO, respectively. Numerical experiments including real constrained problems indicated that FTMS gave the best performance, followed by FTMSPowell and FTMS-PSO. Despite the inferior performance compared to FTMS and FTMS-Powell, the FTMS-PSO method presented some advantages since good different initial points could be obtained, which allow exploring different routes through the solution space and to escape from local optima. The proposed methods proved to be an effective way of improving the performance of the original FTM.

Strategies for the analysis of single-tree plot experiments in Eucalyptus plantations

本文意在研究中国和巴西在太空领域的合作。虽然这项研究涉及太空项目技术方面，但这不是这篇文章所研究的主要方面。本文将研究集中在太空合作的政治方面。由于这个原因，本研究也集中于展望中巴两国的政府对发展太空项目和在太空领域的合作。本文还将通过这个合作寻求验证结果和政治利益。本研究将重点主要放在中巴建设远程监控卫星—CBERS的合作上。之所以选择这一合作，一是因为它是一种伙伴关系，这一伙伴关系已经成为南南合作的榜样，二是因为巴西太空项目的目的是通过远程监控卫星项目与中国展开合作。因此，本研究将显示的路径由1999年11月14日首次推出CBERS，直到将它放置在双方中巴关系的历史上的一个突出显示的位置。本研究还力图展现两国在这一领域合作的原因，其中最主要的原因就是两国之间没有根本利益的冲突。换句话说，中国和巴西在这样一个明智的和战略性的领域中合作能够滋生和繁荣的一个基本条件是两国之间的相互信任。 CBERS-1发射15年后，建立了中巴太空气候联合实验室，并且因为这一项目机构的重要性、合作的性质以及潜在的长期前景和交流，在中巴关系上掀开了一个新的篇章。虽然中国和巴西的合作道路并不容易，都经历了很多困难，但是两国仍将这一太空项目向前推进。发达国家提出的技术导向的禁令是中巴开始太空项目以来遇到的许多挑战之一。拥有太空技术的这些国家群体不希望看到他们的太空霸权受到挑战。因此，南南合作取代南北合作，被描绘成一个为克服共同障碍的可行的选择。CBERS-1不仅标志着脱离垄断这种技术的发达国家，而且还证实了在这个领域进行南南合作的可行性。然而，有必要考虑到每个国家都有自己对世界的看法，还要考虑到他们可以根据自己对国际事务变化的理解为未来事件做好准备。因此，中国和巴西有自己的政治议程，自己的国家发展项目以及非常具体的利益，而这些议程、国家发展项目和具体的利益可能会也可能不会集中在一个确定的历史时刻。考虑到这一事实，我们要回答下列问题：未来中巴在太空领域合作的特征，是竞争?是合作？还是竞争和合作同时进行？本文中我试图通过对CBERS项目的分析来说明，中巴两国不仅有条件克服在太空合作方面的各种挑战，而且也有条件克服其他发生在最终建立合作前的各种挑战。通过对研究中所有因素的批判性分析，以及对这一研究中更多细节的进一步研究和实验，我们可以得出这样的结论：未来中巴在太空领域的合作将有巨大的合作潜力。这一潜力得以加强，源自于中巴两国的合作、相互信任，以及中巴两国的双边关系和两国在空间领域的合作项目都没有根本的利益冲突。
