This study elaborates on the design,fabrication,and data analysis details of SPEED,a recently proposed smartphonebased digital polymerase chain reaction(dPcR)*** dPcR chips incorporate partition diameters ranging from 50μm to 5μm,and these partitions are organized into six distinct blocks to facilitate image *** to the superior thermal conductivity of Si and its potential for mass production,the dPcR chips were fabricated on a Si substrate.A temperature control system based on a high-power density Peltier element and a preheating/cooling PcR protocol user interface shortening the thermal cycle *** optical design employs four 470 nm light-emitting diodes as light sources,with filters and mirrors effectively managing the light emitted during *** algorithm is utilized for image processing and illumination nonuniformity correction including conversion to a monochromatic format,partition identification,skew correction,and the generation of an image correction *** validated the device using a range of deoxyribonucleic acid targets,demonstrating its potential applicability across multiple ***,we provide guidance and verification of the design and testing of the recently proposed SPEED device.

The existence of pulsating stars in eclipsing binaries has been known for *** types of objects are extremely valuable systems for astronomical studies as they exhibit both eclipse and pulsation *** eclipsing binaries are the only way to directly measure the mass and radius of stars with a good accuracy(≤1%),while the pulsations are a unique way to probe the stellar interior via oscillation *** are different types of pulsating stars existing in eclipsing *** of them is theδScuti ***,the known number ofδScuti stars in eclipsing binaries is around 90 according to the latest catalog of these *** increasing number of these kinds of variables is important to understand the stellar structure,evolution and the effect of binarity on the ***,in this study,we focus on discovering new eclipsing binaries withδScuti component(s).We searched within the northern Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite(TESS)field with a visual inspection by following some criteria such as light curve shape,the existence of pulsation like variations in the out-of-eclipse light curve and the T_(eff) values of the *** a result of these criteria,we discovered some *** orbital variations were first removed from the TESS light curves and frequency analysis was performed on the *** luminosity,and absolute and bolometric magnitudes of the targets were calculated as *** find how much of these parameters represent the primary(more luminous)binary component,we also computed the flux density ratio of the systems by utilizing the area of the *** addition,the positions of the systems in the H-R diagram were examined considering the flux density *** a consequence of the investigation,we defined 38 candidateδScuti stars and also one maia variable in eclipsing binary systems.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron collider,as Standard model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 geV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

Fatigue crack growth behaviors were investigated by three-point bending tests for ta19 alloy fabricated by laser metal deposition and four kinds of heat-treated *** crack growth resistance of the ta19 samples in the near-threshold regime and Paris regime was evaluated through the experimental characterization and theoretical analysis of the interaction between fatigue crack andα/βphase inter-face,columnar prior-βgrain boundary and colony *** results show that in the near-threshold regime,the fatigue crack propagation threshold and resistance increase with the increase of widths of lamellarαp phases and colonies,and the decrease of the number ofαlaths with an angle(ϕ)relative to the applied stress direction ranging from 75°to 90°.In the Paris regime,the fatigue cracking path can be deflected at colony boundaries or columnar prior-βgrain *** larger the deflection angle,the more tortuous the cracking path and the lower the fatigue crack growth *** angle(γ)of the columnar prior-βgrain growth direction relative to the build direction affects not onlyϕof differentαvariants,but also the fatigue cracking path deflection angle(θij)at columnar prior-βgrain *** optimal combination ofγ=0°-15°-0°-15°for several adjacent columnar prior-βgrains is derived from the theoretical analysis,and that can effectively avoidϕbeing in the range from 75°to 90°and makeθij as large as *** findings provide a guide for the selection of scanning strategies and process parameters to additively manufacture Ti alloys with high fatigue damage tolerance.

Fly ash (FA) is widely used in construction industry as a pozzolanic material for its economic and environmental advantages. However,the variety and the complexity of the chemical composition of FA make it difficult to control the quality in engineering practice. Especially the durability of FA concrete has to be considered in the design. This durability is strongly influenced by the internal chemistry and the microstructure of cement paste. The aim of this article is to present a review on the effect of FA on the durability of concrete with particularly focus on the hydration chemistry and the development of microstructure. meanwhile,existing hydration models for hydration kinetics and microstructure development of concrete blended with FA is discussed. The results of this research will provide a modelling perspective for predicting durability of concrete when FA is used as a blending material in the mixtures.

This study investigates the transfer of the scrape-applied method from the electrodes of a lithium battery to the membrane-electrode assembly of fuel cells, including Proton Exchange membrane Fuel cells and Direct methanol Fuel cell. Three methods are commonly used to manufacture lithium battery electrodes： the roller-applied method, the spraying-applied method, and the scrape-applied method. This study develops novel scrape-applied equip- ment for lithium battery electrodes. This method is novel and suitable for producing fuel cell, better than other tradi- tional methods. In this study, the stability of coating process was tested by measuring the weight and thickness of a dry electrode. The stability and reproducibility of electrode fab- rication were examined by systematic data analysis. Finally, the study used a specially designed single cell composed of 16 conductive segments, which are insulated locally. The current passing through each segment was measured using Hall Effect sensors connected to the segment compartments. Based on the measured distribution of the local current in a segmented single cell, the influence of flooding and stoi- chiometry variation of feed gas was discussed in terms of electrochemical reaction rate. The experimental results serve as an important basis for future research in this field, which hold potential benefits to the academia and the industry.

BAcKgRoUND microsatellite instability(mSI)is a predictive biomarker for cancer *** tumor-agnostic nature of mSI makes it a denominator for immunotherapy in several solid *** can be assessed using next-generation sequencing(NgS),fluorescent multiplex PcR,and immunohistochemistry(IHc).cASE SUmmARY Here,we report 3 cases with discordant mSI results detected using different methods.A cholangiocellular carcinoma case revealed proficient mismatch repair(mmR)by IHc but high mSI(mSI-H)by liquid NgS.A cervical cancer case revealed deficient mmR by IHc,microsatellite stable by PcR,and mSI-H by ***,an endometrial cancer case revealed proficient mmR by IHc but mSI-H by *** IHc for mmR status is the first choice due to several ***,in cases of indeterminate IHc results,molecular testing by mSI-PcR is ***,NgS-based mSI assays are being widely used to detect mSI-H *** three methods have high accuracy;however,the inconsistencies between them may lead to misdiagnosis.

The eclipsing binaries are the only way to directly measure the mass and radius of stars with a good accuracy(≤1%),while the pulsations are a unique way to probe the stellar interior via oscillation frequencies. There are different types of pulsating stars existing in eclipsing binaries. one of them is the δ Scuti variables. currently, the known number of δ Scuti stars in eclipsing binaries is around 90 according to the latest catalog of these variables. An increasing number of these kinds of variables is important to understand the stellar structure, evolution and the effect of binarity on the pulsations. Therefore, in this study, we focus on discovering new eclipsing binaries with δ Scuti component(s). We searched within the northern Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite(TESS) field with a visual inspection by following some criteria such as light curve shape, the existence of pulsation like variations in the out-of-eclipse light curve and the Teffvalues of the targets. As a result of these criteria, we discovered some targets. The orbital variations were first removed from the TESS light curves and frequency analysis was performed on the residuals. The luminosity, and absolute and bolometric magnitudes of the targets were calculated as well. To find how much of these parameters represent the primary(more luminous) binary component, we also computed the flux density ratio of the systems by utilizing the area of the eclipses. In addition, the positions of the systems in the H-R diagram were examined considering the flux density ratios. As a consequence of the investigation, we defined 38 candidate δ Scuti stars and also one maia variable in eclipsing binary systems.
