The reported effects of the glutathione S-transferase （GSTs） genes （GSTM1, GSTTI, and GSTP1） on male factor infertility have been inconsistent and even contradictory. Here, we conducted a case-control study to investigate the association between functionally important polymorphisms in GST genes and idiopathic male infertility. The study group consisted of 361 men with idiopathic azoospermia, 118 men with idiopathic oligospermia, and 234 age-matched healthy fertile male controls. Genomic DNA was extracted from the peripheral blood, and analyzed by polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis. There was a significant association between the GSTP1 variant genotype （lle/Val ＋ Val/Val） with idiopathic infertility risk （odds ratio [OR]： 1.53; 95% confidence interval [CI]： 1.11-2.11; P = 0.009）. Similarly, a higher risk of infertility was noted in individuals carrying a genotype combination of GSTTI-null and GSTP1 （lle/Val ＋ ValNal）（OR： 2.17; 95% Cl： 1.43-3.31; P = 0.0002）. These results suggest an increased risk of the GSTPI variant genotype （lle/Val ＋ Val/Val） for developing male factor infertility. Our findings also underrate the significance of the effect of GSTM1 and/or GSTT1 （especially the former） in modulating the risk of male infertility in males from Sichuan, southwest China.

Industrialization has led to significant increases in the types and quantities of pollutants, with environmental pollutants widely present in various media, including the air, food, and everyday items. These pollutants can enter the human body via multiple pathways, including ingestion through food and absorption through the skin; this intrusion can disrupt the production, release, and circulation of hormones in the body, resulting in a range of illnesses that affect the reproductive, endocrine, and nervous systems. Consequently, these pollutants pose substantial risks to human health. In particular, fetuses are highly sensitive to environmental pollutants during critical stages of development, and exposure during periods of growth and development can result in more-obvious and severe health hazards that can lead to preterm birth, low birth weight, and fetal malformations. The placenta acts as a barrier between the mother and fetus, and selectively filters certain pollutants. While some pollutants remain in the maternal bloodstream, others cross the placental barrier into the fetal umbilical blood through passive diffusion, placental transport proteins, or endocytosis. The transplacental transfer efficiency (TTE) is the ratio of the level of the pollutant in the umbilical blood to that in the maternal blood, and is a valuable metric for evaluating the ability of a pollutant to breach the placental barrier. A higher TTE implies that a larger proportion of pollutants are transferred from the mother to the fetus, thereby amplifying the potential risks to the fetus. Mass spectrometry-based detection methods are extensively used in the chemical and environmental sciences because they are exceptionally sensitive and highly resolving. This analytical technique involves ionizing compounds within a sample and identifying them based on their distinct mass-to-charge ratios; it enables both qualitative and quantitative analyses of various environmental pollutants. In this study, we present a unified sparsity-driven framework that significantly enhances motion deblurring performance by integrating two key components: a custom-designed dataset and a low-rank module(LRM). This framework leverages the inherent sparsity of per-pixel blur kernels to bolster both deblurring accuracy and model interpretability. Firstly, we propose an adaptive-basis decomposition-based deblurring(ADD) approach, which constructs a tailored training dataset to enhance the generalization capacity of the deblurring network. The ADD framework adaptively decomposes motion blur into sparse basis elements, effectively addressing the intricacies associated with non-uniform blurs. Secondly, an LRM is proposed to improve the interpretability of deblurring models as a plug-and-play module, primarily designed to identify and harness the intrinsic sparse features in sharp images. A series of ablation studies have been conducted to substantiate the synergistic advantages of combining the proposed ADD with the LRM for overall improvement in deblurring efficacy. Subsequently, we empirically demonstrate through rigorous experimentation that incorporating the LRM into an existing Uformer network leads to substantial enhancement in reconstruction performance. This integration yields a sparsity-guided low-rank network(SGLRN). Operating under the overarching principle of sparsity, SGLRN consistently outperforms state-of-the-art methods across multiple standard deblurring benchmarks. Comprehensive experimental results, assessed through quantitative metrics and qualitative visual evaluations, provide compelling evidence of its effectiveness. The Michelson Interferometer for Global High-resolution Thermospheric Imaging(MIGHTI)onboard the Ionospheric Connection Explorer(ICON)satellite offers the opportunity to investigate the altitude profile of thermospheric *** this study,we used the red-line measurements of MIGHTI to compare with the results estimated by Horizontal Wind Model 14(HWM14).The data selected included both the geomagnetic quiet period(December 2019 to August 2022)and the geomagnetic storm on August 26-28,*** the geomagnetic quiet period,the estimations of neutral winds from HWM14 showed relatively good agreement with the observations from *** to the ICON observations,near the equator,zonal winds reverse from westward to eastward at around 06:00 local time(LT)at higher altitudes,and the stronger westward winds appear at later LTs at lower *** around 16:00 LT,eastward winds at 300 km reverse to westward,and vertical gradients of zonal winds similar to those at sunrise hours can be *** the middle latitudes,zonal winds reverse about 2-4 h *** winds vary more significantly than zonal winds with seasonal and latitudinal *** to the ICON observations,in the northern low latitudes,vertical reversals of meridional winds are found at 08:00-13:00 LT from 300 to 160 km and at around 18:00 LT from 300 to 200 km during the June *** reversals of meridional winds are found at 04:00-07:00 LT from 300 to 160 km and at 22:00-02:00 LT from 270 to 200 km during the December *** the southern low latitudes,meridional wind reversals occur at 08:00-11:00 LT from 200 to 160 km and at 21:00-02:00 LT from 300 to 200 km during the June *** the December solstice,reversals of the meridional wind appear at 20:00-01:00 LT below 200 km and at 06:00-11:00 LT from 300 to 160 *** the northern middle latitudes,the northward winds are dominant at 08:00-14:00 LT at 230 km during the June *** winds persist until

Light field(LF)cameras record multiple perspectives by a sparse sampling of real scenes,and these perspectives provide complementary *** information is beneficial to LF super-resolution(LFSR).Compared with traditional single-image super-resolution,LF can exploit parallax structure and perspective correlation among different LF ***,the performance of existing methods are limited as they fail to deeply explore the complementary information across LF *** this paper,we propose a novel network,called the light field complementary-view feature attention network(LF-CFANet),to improve LFSR by dynamically learning the complementary information in LF ***,we design a residual complementary-view spatial and channel attention module(RCSCAM)to effectively interact with complementary information between complementary ***,RCSCAM captures the relationships between different channels,and it is able to generate informative features for reconstructing LF images while ignoring redundant ***,a maximum-difference information supplementary branch(MDISB)is used to supplement information from the maximum-difference angular positions based on the geometric structure of LF *** branch also can guide the process of *** results on both synthetic and real-world datasets demonstrate the superiority of our *** proposed LF-CFANet has a more advanced reconstruction performance that displays faithful details with higher SR accuracy than state-of-the-art methods.

Robust, ultra-flexible, and multifunctional MXene-basedelectromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding nanocomposite filmsexhibit enormous potential for applications in artificial intelligence,wireless telecommunication, and portable/wearable electronic *** this work, a nacre-inspired multifunctional heterocyclic aramid(HA)/MXene@polypyrrole (PPy) (HMP) nanocomposite paper withlarge-scale, high strength, super toughness, and excellent tolerance tocomplex conditions is fabricated through the strategy of HA/MXenehydrogel template-assisted in-situ assembly of PPy. Benefiting from the"brick-and-mortar" layered structure and the strong hydrogen-bondinginteractions among MXene, HA, and PPy, the paper exhibits remarkable mechanical performances, including high tensile strength (309.7 MPa),outstanding toughness (57.6 MJ m−3), exceptional foldability, and structural stability against ultrasonication. By using the template effect ofHA/MXene to guide the assembly of conductive polymers, the synthesized paper obtains excellent electronic conductivity. More importantly,the highly continuous conductive path enables the nanocomposite paper to achieve a splendid EMI shielding effectiveness (EMI SE) of 54.1 dBat an ultra-thin thickness (25.4 μm) and a high specific EMI SE of 17,204.7 dB cm2g−1. In addition, the papers also have excellent applicationsin electromagnetic protection, electro-/photothermal de-icing, thermal therapy, and fire safety. These findings broaden the ideas for developinghigh-performance and multifunctional MXene-based films with enormous application potential in EMI shielding and thermal management.

The low-melting glass of Bi2O_(3)-B2O_(3)-SiO_(2)(BiBSi)system was used for the first time for laser sealing of vacuum *** the condition of constant boron content,how the structure and properties vary with Bi/Si ratio in low-melting glass was *** addition,the relationships between laser power,low-melting glass solder with different Bi/Si ratios and laser sealing shear strength were *** results show that a decrease in the Bi/Si ratio can cause a contraction of the glass network of the low-melting glass,leading to an increase of its characteristic temperature and a decrease of its coefficient of thermal *** laser sealing,the copper ions in the low-melting glass play an endothermic role.A change in the Bi/Si ratio will affect the valence state transition of the copper ions in the low-melting *** absorbance of the low-melting glass does not follow the expected correlation with the Bi/Si ratio,but shows a linear correlation with the content of divalent copper *** greater the concentration of divalent copper ions,the greater the absorbance of the low-melting glass,and the lower the laser power required for laser *** shear strength of the low melting glass solder after laser sealing was tested,and it was found that the maximum shear strength of Z1 glass sample was the highest up to 2.67 MPa.
