Effects of biomass co-pyrolysis and herbaceous plant colonization on the transformation of tailings into soil like substrate

Enhancing soil organic matter characteristics,ameliorating physical structure,mitigating heavy metal toxicity,and hastening mineral weathering processes are crucial approaches to accomplish the transition of tailings substrate to a soil-like *** incorporation of biomass co-pyrolysis and plant colonization has been established to be a significant factor in soil substrate formation and soil pollutant *** this,there is presently an absence of research efforts aimed at synergistically utilizing these two technologies to expedite the process of mining tailings soil substrate *** current study aimed to investigate the underlying mechanism of geochemical changes and rapid mineral weathering during the process of transforming tailings substrate into a soil-like substrate,under the combined effects of biomass co-smoldering pyrolysis and plant *** findings of this study suggest that the incorporation of smoldering pyrolysis and plant colonization induces a high-temperature effect and biological effects,which enhance the physical and chemical properties of tailings,while simultaneously accelerating the rate of mineral *** improvements include the amelioration of extreme pH levels,nutrient enrichment,the formation of aggregates,and an increase in enzyme activity,all of which collectively demonstrate the successful attainment of tailings substrate *** of the acceleratedweathering was verified by phase and surfacemorphology analysis using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron *** corrosion and fragmentation on the surface *** weathering resulted in corrosion and fragmentation of the surface of the treated *** study confirms that co-smoldering pyrolysis of biomass,combined with plant colonization,can effectively promote the transformation of tailings into soil-like *** method has can effectively address the key challenges that have previously hind

Background:Balloon catheter isolation is a promising auxiliary method for thermal ablation treatment of liver cancer. We aimed to explore the safety and effectiveness of balloon catheter isolation-assisted ultrasound-guided percutaneous microwave ablation (MWA) in treating liver cancer in difficult anatomical ***:data of 132 patients with 145 difficult-site liver cancer treated with ultrasound-guided percutaneous MWA were retrospectively analyzed. Participants were classified into the isolation (n=40)and non-isolation (n=92) groups based on whether the patients were treated using a balloon catheter prior to ablation. The major complication rates, local tumor residuals (LTR), and tumor follow-up for local tumor progression (LTP) at 6 and 12 months post-ablation were compared between the two ***:The rates of major postoperative complications did not significantly differ between the isolation and non-isolation groups (2.5%vs. 4.3%, P=0.609). The postoperative LTR rates were significantly different between the isolation and non-isolation groups (4.8%vs. 17.5%, P=0.032). Balloon catheter isolation [odds ratio (OR)=0.225, 95%confidence interval (CI):0.085–0.595, P=0.009] and tumor diameter(OR=2.808, 95%CI:1.186–6.647, P=0.019) were identified as independent factors influencing LTR *** cumulative LTP rates at 6 and 12 months after ablation showed no significant differences between the isolation and non-isolation groups (2.6%vs. 7.9%, P=0.661;4.9%vs. 9.8%, P=0.676, respectively).Cox proportional hazards regression analysis showed that tumor diameter was an independent risk factor for cumulative LTP rate (OR=3.445, 95%CI:1.406–8.437, P=0.017).Conclusions:Balloon catheter isolation-assisted MWA was safe and effective in the treatment of difficultsite liver cancer. Additionally, tumor diameter significantly influenced LTR and LTP rates after ablation.

A cationic radical lanthanide organic tetrahedron with remarkable coordination enhanced radical stability

Rare–earth supramolecular compounds, such as lanthanide organic polyhedrons（LOPs）, are of particular interest due to their many possible applications in various fields. Here we report the first syntheses of Ln4(L·+)4–type(Ln, lanthanides; L·+, radical ligand) radical–bridged lanthanide organic tetrahedrons by self–assembly of face–capping triphenylamine（TPA）–cored radical ligand with different lanthanide *** coordination enhanced radical stability has been observed, with half–life times(t1/2) for L1·+,La4(L1·+)4, Eu4(L1·+)4, Gd4(L1·+)4, Tb4(L1·+)4and Lu4(L1·+)4estimated to be 53 min, 482 min, 624 min,1248 min, 822 min and 347 min, respectively. The TPA radical in Ln4(L1·+)4containing paramagnetic Ln ions（Ln = EuⅢ, GdⅢand TbⅢ） is observed to be more stable than that in Ln4(L1·+)4（Ln = LaⅢand LuⅢ）constructed by diamagnetic Ln ions. This difference in radical stability is possibly due to the magnetic interactions between paramagnetic LnⅢions and L1·+ligands, as confirmed by electron paramagnetic resonance（EPR） in La4（L）4(L = L1and L1·+) and Tb4（L）4(L = L1and L1·+), and magnetic susceptibility measurements in Tb·4（L）4(L = L1and L1·+). Our study reveals the coordination of radical ligands with lanthanide ions can improve the radical stability, which is crucial for their applications.
