Influence of refining process and utilization of different slags on inclusions, titanium yield and total oxygen content of Ti-stabilized 321 stainless steel

Ti-stabilized 321 stainless steel was prepared using an electric arc furnace, argon oxygen decarburization (AOD) furnace, ladle furnace (LF), and continuous casting processes. In addition, the effect of refining process and utilization of different slags on the evolution of inclusions, titanium yield, and oxygen content was systematically investigated by experimental and thermodynamic analysis. The results reveal that the total oxygen content (TO) and inclusion density decreased during the refining process. The spherical CaO–SiO2–Al2O3–MgO inclusions existed in the 321 stainless steel after the AOD process. Moreover, prior to the Ti addition, the spherical CaO–Al2O3–MgO–SiO2 inclusions were observed during LF refining pro-cess. However, Ti addition resulted in multilayer CaO–Al2O3–MgO–TiOx inclusions. Two different samples were prepared by conventional CaO–Al2O3-based slag (Heat-1) and -TiO2-rich CaO–Al2O3-based slag (Heat-2). The statistical analysis revealed that the density of inclusions and the -TiOx content in CaO–Al2O3–MgO–TiOx inclusions found in Heat-2 sample are much lower than those in the Heat-1 sample. Furthermore, the TO content and Ti yield during the LF refining process were controlled by using -TiO2-rich calcium aluminate synthetic slag. These results were consistent with the ion–molecule coexist-ence theory and FactSage?7.2 software calculations. When -TiO2-rich CaO–Al2O3-based slag was used, the -TiO2 activity of the slag increased, and the equilibrium oxygen content significantly decreased from the AOD to LF processes. Therefore, the higher -TiO2 activity of slag and lower equilibrium oxygen content suppressed the undesirable reactions between Ti and O.

Catalytic Oxidation of Hexanol to Hexanal with H_2O_2 Over P-W Heteropoly Compounds

The syntheses of Keggin and dawson-structural phospho-tungsto heteropoly compounds and their Peroxo-derivatives(PCWP), and the catalytic performance over this series of catalysts for the selective oxidation of hexanol to hexylaldehyde are reported. By means of IR, NMR and UV-DRS techniques the catalysts were characterized and a comparison of the structural properties of these catalysts before and after the reaction was made. The correlation between the catalytic performance and the structure of this series of catalysts was discussed as well.

P-doped CoSe_(2)nanoparticles embedded in 3D honeycomb-like carbon network for long cycle-life Na-ion batteries

We report for the first time a Na-ion battery anode material composed of P-doped CoSe_(2)nanoparticles(P-CoSe_(2))with the size of 5–20 nm that are uniformly embed in a 3 D porous honeycomb-like carbon *** rate capability and cycling stability are achieved *** honeycomb-like carbon network is rationally designed to support high electrical conductivity,rapid Na-ion diffusion as well as the accommodation of the volume expansion from the active P-CoSe_(2)*** particular,heteroatom P-doping within CoSe_(2)introduces stronger P-Co bonds and additional P-Se bonds that significantly improve the structure stability of P-CoSe_(2)for highly stable sodiation/desodiation over long-term cycling.P-doping also improves the electrical conductivity of the CoSe_(2)nanoparticles,leading to highly elevated electrochemical kinetics to deliver high specific capacities at high current *** from the unique nanostructure and atomic-level P-doping,the P-CoSe_(2)(2:1)/C anode delivers an excellent cycle stability with a specific capacity of 206.9 mA h g^(-1)achieved at 2000 mA g^(-1)after 1000 *** addition,this material can be synthesized using a facile pyrolysis and selenization/phosphorization *** study provides new opportunities of heteroatom doping as an effective method to improve the cycling stability of Na-ion anode materials.

Improving hydrogen embrittlement resistance of a modified press hardening steel by introducing retained austenite as hydrogen trap

The effect of retained austenite(RA)with higher mechanical stability on hydrogen embrittlement resistance of a modified 22MnB5(C 0.22,Si 0.8,Mn 1.5,B 0.002,Fe balance,in wt.%)press hardening steel(PHS)has been ***-step quenching and partitioning(Q&P)treatment was applied to PHS,and around 6 vol.%ultra-fine RA was *** ultra-fine RA was found to act as stronger hydrogen trap than dislocations and grain boundaries in martensitic matrix and can decrease the apparent diffusion coefficient of hydrogen from 5.97×10^(-7) to 3.83×10^(-7) cm^(2) s^(-1),which was verified by the combination of thermal desorption spectroscopy analysis and hydrogen permeation *** higher mechanical stability of the ultrafine RA assures enough stability of the hydrogen trap,which results in better hydrogen embrittlement resistance in Q&P-treated PHS than the conventional directly quenched PHS.

O2iJoin： An Efficient Index-Based Algorithm for Overlap Interval Join

Time intervals are often associated with tuples to represent their valid time in temporal relations, where overlap join is crucial for various kinds of queries. Many existing overlap join algorithms use indices based on tree structures such as quad-tree, B＋-tree and interval tree. These algorithms usually have high CPU cost since deep path traversals are unavoidable, which makes them not so competitive as data-partition or plane-sweep based algorithms. This paper proposes an efficient overlap join algorithm based on a new two-layer flat index named as Overlap Interval Inverted Index （i.e., O2i Index）. It uses an array to record the end points of intervals and approximates the nesting structures of intervals via two functions in the first layer, and the second layer uses inverted lists to trace all intervals satisfying the approximated nesting structures. With the help of the new index, the join algorithm only visits the must-be-scanned lists and skips all others. Analyses and experiments on both real and synthetic datasets show that the proposed algorithm is as competitive as the state-of-the-art algorithms.

Effect of Aluminium Nanoparticles on the Performance of Bulk Heterojunction Organic Solar Cells

Al nanoparticles(NPs)are incorporated in the active layers to enhance the performance of organic solar cells(OSCs).The improved short circuit current Jsc and power conversion efficiency(PCE)for OSCs with Al NPs are observed.A final PCE of 3.66wt%is achieved,which is an improvement of more than 30wt%compared to a standard cell with a PCE of 2.84wt%.When the mass of Al NPs is 10wt%of OSCs,the device performance is *** optical performance of OSCs reveals that the absorption from sunlight *** external quantum efficiency spectra suggests that the Al NPs in the active layers influence the efficiency of converting photons into electrons,which leads to the improvements in the *** enhanced photovoltaic performance induced by incorporating Al NPs in the active layer is discussed in the terms of increasing charge separation at the donor-acceptor interface and the effectively decreasing transmission distance of charge in polymer.

Integrated miRNA and mRNA Analysis Identified Potential Mechanisms and Targets of Qianggan Extracts in Preventing Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis

Objective: Qianggan(QG) extract is a patented traditional Chinese medicine that has been widely used for the clinical treatment of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH). However, its mechanism remains unclear. Methods: The efficacy of QG was evaluated in mice with methionine-and-choline-deficient diet-induced NASH by measuring serum alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, and alkaline phosphatase levels and by H and E staining of liver sections. Microarray and bioinformatics analyses were performed to obtain hepatic micro RNA(mi RNA) and m RNA expression profiles and to mine potential mechanisms and therapeutic targets. Furthermore, representative mi RNA and m RNA expression levels were validated by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(q RT-PCR). Results: QG extract significantly improved NASH. Twelve differentially expressed mi RNAs and 1124 differentially changed m RNAs were identified as potential targets of QG extract. Integrated analysis detected 976 mi RNA–m RNA regulatory pairs, and networks including 11 mi RNAs and 427 m RNAs were constructed by Cytoscape. hub nodes including mi R-7050-5p, mi R-212-3p, Bcl2l11, and Kras were filtered out. Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway analyses revealed that 427 m RNAs were enriched in pathways including apoptotic process, immune response, Fox O signaling pathway, and natural killer cell-mediated cytotoxicity. We also constructed a protein–protein interaction network with 254 nodes, and identified hub genes including Kras, Fasl, and Ncam1. Finally, the results of q RT-PCR were in good accordance with microarray data. Conclusion: This study identified important hub mi RNAs and m RNAs involved in the mechanism of QG extract and which might provide potential therapeutic targets for patients with NASH.
