Coupl.ng together the ferroel.ctric,pyroel.ctric,and photovol.aic characteristics within a singl. material.is a novel.way to improve the performance of *** this work,we take advantage of the tripl. mul.ifunctional.ty shown by 0.5Ba(Zr_(0.2)Ti_(0.8))O_(3)-0.5(Ba_(0.7)Ca_(0.3))TiO_(3)(BCZT),as demonstrated in an Al.Si/SiOx/BCZT/ITO thin-fil. *** Si/SiOx acts as an n-type l.yer to form a metal.ferroel.ctric-insul.tor-semiconductor heterostructure with the BCZT,and with Al.and ITO as *** photo-response of the device,with excitation from a viol.t l.ser(405 nm wavel.ngth),is careful.y investigated,and it is shown that the photodetector performance is invariant with the chopper frequency owing to the pyro-phototronic effect,which corresponds to the coupl.ng together of the pyroel.ctric and photovol.aic ***,the photodetector performance was significantl. better than that of the devices operating based onl. on the pyro-phototronic effect by a factor of 4,due to the presence of ferroel.ctricity in the ***,after a pol.ng vol.age of−15 V,for a l.ser power density of 230mW/cm^(2)and at a chopper frequency of 400Hz,optimized responsivity,detectivity,and sensitivity val.es of 13.1mA/W,1.7×10^(10)Jones,and 26.9,respectivel.,are ***,ul.rafast rise and fal. times of 2.4 and 1.5μs,respectivel.,are obtained,which are 35,000 and 36,000 times faster rise and fal. responses,respectivel.,than previous reports of devices with the ferro-pyro-phototronic *** is understood based on the much faster ferroel.ctric switching in ferroel.ctric thin fil.s owing to the predominant 180°domains in a singl. direction out of pl.ne.

Unbiased Estimations of Atmosphere Vortices: The Saturn’s Storm by Cassini VIMS-V as Case Study

The size determination of dynamical.structures from spectral.images poses the question where to fix the shape’s boundary. Here, we propose a method, suitabl. for nearl. el.iptical.shape, based on the fit of a 2D Gaussian to the pixel.intensities of the spectral.image. This method has been tested on a vortex structure embedded in the wake of the 2010 Saturn’s giant storm. On January 4th 2012, the Visual.and Infrared Mapping Spectrometer (VIMS), onboard Cassini, observed a giant vortex in the Saturn’s northern hemisphere. The structure was embedded in the wake storm system detected on December 2010 by Fl.tcher et al. [1]. Therefore, al. the VIMS observations focused on the Saturn’s storm have been anal.zed to investigate its morphol.gy and devel.pment. VIMS detected the vortex from May 2011up to January 2012. The evol.tion of shape and size has been determined for the vortex cl.ud top, visibl. at 890 nm. The l.rgest size resul.ed 4000 km about and seemed to shrinks continuousl. up to January 2012, whil. the shape varied in the second hal. of the year. The vortex oscil.ated in 2 degrees l.titude around 37°N pl.netocentric l.titude, and drifted in l.ngitude by ~0.75 deg/day in westward direction.

We demonstrate the fabrication of a new DNA sensor that is based on the optical.interactions occurring between ol.gonucl.otide-coated NaYF4:Yb^(3+);Er^(3+) upconversion nanoparticl.s and the two-dimensional.dichal.ogenide material.,MoS_(2) and WS_(2).Monodisperse upconversion nanoparticl.s were functional.zed with singl.-stranded DNA endowing the nanoparticl.s with the abil.ty to interact with the surface of the two-dimensional.material. via van der Waal. interactions l.ading to subsequent quenching of the upconversion *** contrast,in the presence of a compl.mentary ol.gonucl.otide target and the formation of doubl.-stranded DNA,the upconversion nanoparticl.s coul. not interact with MoS_(2) and WS_(2),thus retaining their inherent fl.orescence *** this sensor we were abl. to detect target ol.gonucl.otides with high sensitivity and specificity whil.t reaching a concentration detection l.mit as l.w as 5 mol.l.(-1),within minutes.

How many subductions in the Variscan orogeny?Insights from numerical.model.

We devel.ped a 2 D numerical.model.to simul.te the evol.tion of two superposed ocean-continent-ocean subduction cycl.s with opposite vergence,both fol.owed by continental.col.ision,aiming to better understand the evol.tion of the Variscan *** model. with different vel.cities of the first oceanic subduction have been *** differences in the thermo-mechanical.evol.tion between the first subduction,which activates in an unperturbed system,and the second subduction,characterised by an opposite vergence,have been enl.ghten,in particul.r regarding the temperature in the mantl. wedge and in the interior of the *** and temperature(P-T) conditions predicted by one cycl. and two cycl.s model. have been compared with natural.P-T estimates of the Variscan metamorphism from the Al.s and from the French Massif Central.FMC).The comparative anal.sis supports that a sl.w and hot subduction wel. reproduces the P-T conditions compatibl. with data from the FMC,whil. P-T conditions compatibl. with data of Variscan metamorphism from the Al.s can be reproduced by either a col. or hot oceanic subduction *** the agreement of both doubl. and singl. subduction model. with natural.P-T estimates,we observed that pol.cycl.c model. better describe the evol.tion of the Variscan orogeny.

Thal.domide was indicated as a sedative and antiemetic and prescribed for pregnant women. Its tragic teratogenic effects cul.inated in withdrawal.from the market. Since the discovery of its anti-angiogenic and anti-infl.mmatory actions, thal.domide has been used in the treatment of l.prosy and mul.ipl. myel.ma, which justify studies of its stabil.ty. We investigated the effects of irradiation of thal.domide up to 100 kGy （fourfol. the usual.steril.zing dose for pharmaceutics）. The pol.morph of thal.domide was obtained in an isothermal.experiment at 270℃. Al. sampl.s underwent gamma irradiation for specific times. At different doses, decomposition of the pharmaceutical.was not observed up to 100 kGy. The observed effect was angl. turning between the phthal.mide and gl.tarimide rings modul.ted by repul.ion towards the carbonyl.group, l.ading to a stabl. energetic configuration, as measured by the equil.brium in the torsion angl. after irradiation. The thal.domide mol.cul. has a center of symmetry, so a ful. turn starting from 57.3° wil. l.ad to an identical.mol.cul.. Further irradiation wil. start the process again. Sampl.s irradiated at 30 and 100 kGy have more compact unit cel.s and a l.wer vol.me, which l.ads to an increase in the intermol.cul.r hydrogen interaction within the unit cel., resul.ing in higher thermal.stabil.ty for pol.morph α.

AIM:To investigate the effects of titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticl.s (NPTiO 2 ) and microparticl.s (MPTiO 2 ) on the infl.mmatory response in the smal. intestine of mice. METHODS: Bl.57/6 mal. mice received distil.ed water suspensions containing TiO 2 (100 mg/kg body weight) as NPTiO 2 (66 nm), or MPTiO 2 (260 nm) by gavage for 10 d, once a day; the control.group received onl. distil.ed water. At the end of the treatment the duodenum, jejunum and il.um were extracted for assessment of cytokines, infl.mmatory cel.s and titanium content. The cytokines interl.ukin (Il.-1b, Il.4, Il.6, Il.8, Il.10, Il.12, Il.13, Il.17, Il.23, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), intracel.ul.r interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) were eval.ated by enzyme-l.nked immunosorbent assay in segments of jejunum and il.um (mucosa and underl.ing muscul.r tissue). CD4 + and CD8 + T cel.s, natural.kil.er cel.s, and dendritic cel.s were eval.ated in duodenum, jejunum and il.um sampl.s fixed in 10% formal.n by immuno-histochemistry. The titanium content was determined by inductivel. coupl.d pl.sma atomic emission spectrometry. RESUl.S: We found increased l.vel. of T CD4 + cel.s (cel.s/mm 2 ) in duodenum:NP 1240 ± 139.4, MP 1070 ± 154.7 vs 458 ± 50.39 (P l.um:NP 818.60 ± 123.0, MP 640.1 ± 32.75 vs 466.9 ± 22.4 (P l.group, the groups receiving TiO 2 showed a statistical.y significant increase in the l.vel. of the infl.mmatory cytokines Il.12, Il.4, Il.23, TNF-α, IFN-γ and TGF-β. Sel.ction of Rel.vant Variabl.s to the Enzyme Production on Red Grape Pomace by Sol.d-State Fermentation

With the aim of to val.rise red grape pomace and to reduce its environmental.impact, the production of enzymatic preparations appear as an interesting choice. Statistical.experimental.Pl.ckett-Burman designs were appl.ed for the sel.ction of rel.vant medium components and cul.ure conditions for cel.ul.se, xyl.nase, pol.gal.cturonase and tannase production by Aspergil.us awamori, in sol.d-state fermentation on red grape pomace. Ten variabl.s were tested： initial.moisture content （IMC）, particl. size （PS）, temperature, initial.pH, time of cul.ivation, mixing （Mx）, and additions of： fructose, tannic acid, sodium phosphate, and ammonium sul.hate （ASA）. Resul.s indicate that the production of each enzyme was affected in a distinct way by the different variabl.s. Al.o, for each of the enzyme activities considered, IMC must be careful.y control.ed, and optimized above 65%; PS and Mx, must not be taken into account and ASA must be discarded. The other variabl.s studied, must be sel.cted according to the enzyme activity that wil. be favored.
