To understand internal relations of their hydrogen isotopic compositions in typical marsh environment,we,using GC-IRMS analytical technique,measured the hydrogen isotopes of individual n-alkanes in the herbaceous plant,woody plant leaf,and sediments from Zoige marsh in *** results show significant differences in the hydrogen isotopic compositions of n-alkanes among the different kinds of plants and the different species in the same kind.δD values of n-alkanes in the herbaceous plants(from -254‰to -184‰) are lighter than those in woody plant leaf(from -195‰to -142‰),and the hydrogen isotopic compositions of n-alkanes in *** *** lighter than *** *** meanδD values of n-alkanes in the sediments from Zoige marsh reflect that they were derived from herbaceous plants,which is consistent with the peat samples being composed mainly of herbaceous plant *** significant differences in hydrogen isotopic compositions of n-alkanes among the sedimentary samples are caused possibly by environment factors and the difference in input quantity of different herbaceous plants.A certain negative correlation exists between theδC andδD values of n-alkanes in the samples, and plant types can be distinguished using the cross plot ofδD vs.δC values of n-alkanes in the *** data and recognitions provide scientific basis for hydrogen isotopic applied research of individual n-alkanes.

The carbon isotopes of individual lipids in herbaceous plants and tree leaves in Ruoergai marsh were measured by the GC-IRMS analytical technique in order to understand the inherent relationships of carbon isotopes between sedimentary and plant lipids from typical marsh environment. The analytical results show that the carbon isotopic compositions of n-alkanes in different kinds of plants differ significantly. Mean δ 13C values of n-alkanes in her-baceous plants (?32.2‰―?36.9‰) are 3.3‰ lower than those in woody plant (?27.2‰― ?35.0‰). The carbon isotopic compositions of fatty acids in organisms (?30.3‰― ?36.2‰) are very similar to those of n-alkanes and the δ 13C values for unsaturated fatty acids are within the range of those for saturated fatty acids. The differences in δ 13C values between plant lipids are obvious and range from 2.4‰ to 7.8‰. It is observed that the carbon isotopic compositions of sedimentary lipids are closely related to those of plant lipids. The carbon isotopic compositions (?27.0‰―?36.9‰) of n-alkanes, ≥C16 fatty acids, n-alkanols, sterols and n-alkanones in the sediments are similar to those of plant lipids and the carbon isotopic compositions of short-chain sedimentary lipids are similar to those of long-chain sedimentary homologues. These indicate that the sedimentary lipids are derived from high plants. However, the δ 13C values of C14:0 and C15:0 fatty acids in the sediments are lighter than those of the same carbon number saturated homologues in plants, reflecting the genetic features partially derived from bacteria. These data provide scientific evidence for carbon isotope-applied research of individual lipids.

The hydrocarbon accumulation coefficient is a key parameter in resources evaluation by genetic techniques. Methods of obtaining its value scientifically have always been an important factor influencing evaluation credibility. In this paper, the hydrocarbon accumulation system is evaluated quantitatively by establishing a hierarchy structure model based on an analytical hierarchy process. The hydrocarbon accumulation system of a higher exploration degree is selected as a calibration area and its hydrocarbon accumulation coefficient can be calculated using methods of hydrocarbon generation potential and reservoir-scale sequence. The hydrocarbon accumulation coefficient of a petroleum accumulation system can be gained by analogy of reservoir forming comprehensive evaluation results with the calibration area. The hydrocarbon accumulation coefficient of each petroleum accumulation system in the upper reservoir-forming combination of the Liaohe Western Sag can be obtained with this method. Practice shows that using the analytical hierarchy process to quantitatively evaluate the hydrocarbon accumulation system and then quantitatively predict the hydrocarbon accumulation coefficient decreases the influence of human factors in resources evaluation, and makes the resources assessment more objective and closer to the actual geological condition.

Closed system gold-tube pyrolysis experiments were performed on a peat and two coals(TY:R = 0.51%;SX:R-0.94%) at temperatures ranging from 337 to 600℃and a pressure of 50 MPa with heating rates of 2 and/or 20℃/*** reaction residues were analyzed *** and chemical and isotopic compositions of the generated gases were also *** three samples had similar thermal evolution *** increasing heating temperature,vitrinite reflectances(VR) of the residues increased linearly from 0.72%to 4.50%.This increase was lesser for the sample with a higher hydrocarbon generation potential and at faster heating *** compositions are dominated by CO and CH throughout the experimental *** gas and CH yields gradually increase with pyrolysis temperature for all *** carbon isotopic compositions of CH generated from the peat are lighter than those from the ***δC(CH) values exhibit a generic evolution pattern which the initial CH is isotopically heavy,then becomes lighter at moderate temperatures,and finally becomes heavier *** produced from the samples at low heating rate has higher transformation ratio than that at high heating rate under the same temperature,so tends to be isotopically heavy after pyrolysis temperature of more than 408℃.

The concept of hydrocarbon accumulation in network was presented on basis of the overall analysis of the formation and evolution characteristics of the continental faulted basin and of the systemic re-search on the major controlling factors on the hydrocarbon accumulation. The hydrocarbon accumu-lation in network can be defined as hydrocarbon accumulation in a three-dimensional network system which is constituted by the hydrocarbon migration passages under multiple dynamics,following the hydrocarbon generation from source rocks. The research shows that the hydrocarbon accumulation in network is composed of four elements,i.e.,hydrocarbon source (source rock kitchen),hydrocarbon accumulation terminal (trap),network pathway connecting source and terminal (transporting system),and network potential driving hydrocarbon migration in the network pathway (migration dynamics). Compared with other networks,hydrocarbon accumulation in network has three basic characteristics: the irreversible geological process of material and information flow in the network; the loss of material and information in the flow process in the network; the multiple dynamics in the flow process. Interac-tion of all the elements in the geological process can be called hydrocarbon accumulation in network. There are three basic models for hydrocarbon accumulation in network,that is,hydrocarbon accumu-lation in the network source area,hydrocarbon accumulation in the network pathway,and hydrocarbon accumulation in the network terminal. The key in the application of the hydrocarbon accumulation models in network in practice is to confirm the major accumulation stage and the function range of the four elements controlling the hydrocarbon firstly,to predict the profitable accumulation region by su-perposition of the favorable areas confirmed by four elements consequently,and to evaluate the oil-bearing property of the trap as well as confirm drilling targets. The distributions of n-alkanes and their hydrogen isotopic composition(δD) in surface and core sediments from the saline Qinghai Lake were measured to assess whether or not biological source information was recorded in theδD values of *** results indicate that the n-alkane distributions between shallow water surface and core sediments were similar,and closer to those of terrestrial herbaceous plants from the Qinghai Lake surrounding areas,rather than the aquatic plants living in the lake. The n-alkanes in the surface and core sediments had similar meanδD values,ranging from-185‰to -133‰and-163‰to-142‰,*** meanδD values of n-alkanes in the sediments showed that the even n-alkanes were heavier in D compared with the odd homologues.

Thermal simulation experiment of gas generation from the peat and the coals were performed using the high temperature and pressure apparatus, at temperature ranging from 336.8-600℃, a pressure of 50MPa and two heating rates of 20℃/h and 2℃/h, and the evolution and formation of coalbed gas components were studied. Results show that for the coals, the gaseous products are mainly composed of hydrocarbon gases. However, for the peat the content of hydrocarbon gases in gaseous products is lower than that of non-hydrocarbon components. In the generated hydrocarbon gases methane is predominant and heavy hydrocarbon gases (C2-5) are present in small amount. Meanwhile, carbon dioxide (CO2) predominates the generated non-hydrocarbon gases, and hydrogen (H2) and sul-furated hydrogen (H2S) are existent in trace amount. It is also observed that temperature is the main factor controlling the evolution of coalbed gas generation. With increasing vitrinite reflectance, methane rapidly increases, CO2 sightly increases, and C2-5 hydrocarbons first increase and then decrease. The peat and Shanxi formation coal have a higher generative potential of coalbed gases than coals and Taiyuan formation coal, respectively, reflecting the effect of the property of organic matter on the characteristics of coalbed gas component generation. In this study, it is found that low heating rate is favorable for the generation of methane, H2 and CO2, and the decomposition of C2-5 hydrocarbons. This shows that heating time plays an important controlling role in the generation and evolution of coalbed gases. The results obtained from the simulation experiment in the study of coalbed gases in natural system are also discussed.
