Preparation of Co/S co-doped carbon catalysts for excellent methylene blue degradation

S and Co co-doped carbon catalysts were prepared via pyrolysis of MOF-71 and thiourea mixtures at 800℃at a mass ratio of MOF-71 to thiourea of 1:0.1 to effectively activate peroxymonosulfate(PMS)for methylene blue(MB)*** effects of two different mixing routes were identified on the MB degradation ***,the catalyst obtained by the alcohol solvent evaporation(MOF-AEP)mixing route could degrade 95.60%MB(50 mg/L)within 4 min(degradation rate:K=0.78 min^(-1)),which was faster than that derived from the direct grinding method(MOF-DGP,80.97%,K=0.39 min^(-1)).X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed that the Co-S content of MOF-AEP(43.39at%)was less than that of MOF-DGP(54.73at%),and the proportion of C-S-C in MOF-AEP(13.56at%)was higher than that of MOF-DGP(10.67at%).Density functional theory calculations revealed that the adsorption energy of Co for PMS was -2.94 eV when sulfur was doped as C-S-C on the carbon skeleton,which was higher than that when sulfur was doped next to cobalt in the form of Co-S bond(-2.86 eV).Thus,the C-S-C sites might provide more contributions to activate PMS compared with ***,the degradation parameters,including pH and MOF-AEP dosage,were ***,radical quenching experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)measurements revealed that ^(1)O_(2)might be the primary catalytic species,whereas·O~(2-)might be the secondary one in degrading MB.

The reaction of pyridin-2(1H)·ones with PhlCl_(2) and NH_(4)SCN enables an efficient regioselective thiocyanation,leading to the synthesis of the biologically interesting C5 thiocyanated 2-pyridones in good to high *** mechanistic pathway of this metal-free approach is postulated to involve the formation of the reactive thiocyanogen chloride from the reaction of PhlCl_(2) and NH4SCN followed with the regioselective electrophilic thiocyanation of the pyridin-2(1H)-one ring.

The intramolecular cyclization of 2-alkynylanilines mediated by DMSO/SOCI_(2) was found to afford biologically interesting 3-methylthioindoles,which are rarely obtained by the exiting *** could also be replaced with its deuterated counterpart,enabling the method applicable to the construction of indole skeleton bearing a SCD_(3) moiety at its 3-position.

3-Thiocyanated chromones was conveniently synthesized from alkynyl aryl ketones using commercially available,inexpensive trichloroisocyanuric acid(TCCA)as oxidant and NH_(4)SCN as thiocyanato(SCN)*** metalfree approach is postulated to first in situ generate thiocyanogen chloride(Cl-SCN)from the reaction of TCCA and NH_(4)SCN,followed by a rare efficient electrophilic thiocyano oxyfunctionalization of alkynes enabled by the reactive electrophilic species generated thereof.

C-repeat binding factors(CBFs)are well-known transcription factors(TFs)that regulate plant cold *** sequencing(RNA-seq)data from diverse plant species provide opportunities to identify other TFs involved in the cold ***,this task is challenging because gene gain and loss has led to an intertwined community of co-orthologs and in-paralogs between and within *** orthogroup(closely related homologs)analysis,we identified 10,549 orthogroups in five representative eudicots.A phylotranscriptomic analysis of cold-treated seedlings from eudicots identified 35 high-confidence conserved cold-responsive transcription factor orthogroups(CoCoFos).These 35 CoCoFos included the well-known cold-responsive regulators CBFs,HSFC1,ZAT6/10,and CZF1 among *** used Arabidopsis BBX29 for experimental *** and genetic analyses showed that cold-induction of BBX29 is CBF-and abscisic acid-independent,and BBX29 is a negative regulator of cold *** RNA-seq and Cleavage Under Targets and Tagmentation followed by sequencing analyses revealed that BBX29 represses a set of cold-induced TFs(ZAT12,PRR9,RVE1,MYB96,etc.).Altogether,our analysis yielded a library of eudicot CoCoFos and demonstrated that BBX29 is a negative regulator of cold tolerance in Arabidopsis.

Numerical Study of Effects of Complex Topography on Surface-Piercing Wave-Body Interactions

In this paper, wave-body interactions under the effects of complex topography are investigated numerically by a two-phase incompressible Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) solver in OpenFOAM. A submerged bottom-standing structure is distributed below the floating body, and the effects of the water depth and top width of the submerged structure on wave-body interactions are studied. The results show that the submerged structure can affect wave loads and roll motion. The vertical force can be amplified on the fixed body when the water depth of the submerged structure is smaller than half of the water depth of the body. The top width significantly affects the vertical force when the top width is smaller than the incident wave length and larger than the body width. For the free-rolling body, roll amplitude can be increased when the ratio of the incident wave length to the water depth of the submerged structure is large enough. On the resonance condition, roll amplitude is slightly reduced by the submerged structure. The effects of the top width on roll amplitude are remarkable when special conditions are fulfilled.
