Comparative proteomes change and possible role in different pathways of micro RNA-21a-5p in a mouse model of spinal cord injury

Our previous study found that microRNA-21 a-5 p(miR-21 a-5 p)knockdown could improve the recovery of motor function after spinal cord injury in a mouse model,but the precise molecular mechanism remains poorly *** this study,a modified Allen's weight drop was used to establish a mouse model of spinal cord injury.A proteomics approach was used to understand the role of differential protein expression with miR-21 a-5 p knockdown,using a mouse model of spinal cord injury without gene knockout as a negative control *** found that after introducing miR-21 a-5 p knockdown,proteins that played an essential role in the regulation of inflammatory processes,cell protection against oxidative stress,cell redox homeostasis,and cell maintenance were upregulated compared with the negative control *** Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analysis identified enriched pathways in both groups,such as the oxidative phosphorylation pathway,which is relevant to Parkinson's disease,Huntington's disease,Alzheimer's disease,and cardiac muscle *** also found that miR-21 a-5 p could be a potential biomarker for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,as miR-21 a-5 p becomes deregulated in this *** results indicate successful detection of some important proteins that play potential roles in spinal cord *** the relationship between these proteins and the recovery of spinal cord injury will provide a reference for future research of spinal cord injury *** experimental procedures and protocols were approved by the Experimental Animal Ethics Committee of Shandong University of China on March 5,2014.

Meloidogyne vitis is a new root-knot nematode parasitic on grape root in Yunnan Province,*** order to establish a rapid,reliable and specific molecular detection method for ***,the species-specific primers were designed with rDNA-ITS(ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer)gene fragment as the *** reaction system was optimized and the reliability,specificity and sensitivity of primer were testified,therefore,a rapid PCR detection method for *** was *** result showed that the optimal annealing temperature of the primers was 53℃,which was suitable for the detection of different life stages of *** test showed that the specific fragment size of 174 bp was obtained from ***,but other five non-target nematodes did not have any amplification bands,thus effectively distinguish *** and the other five species,and could specifically detect the *** from mixed *** test showed that this PCR technique could detect the DNA of a single second-stage juvenile(J_(2))and 10^(-4)***,this PCR technique could be used to detect directly *** from soil *** rapid,sensitive and specific PCR molecular detection technique could be used for the direct identification of a single J_(2)of *** and the detection of *** in mixed nematode populations and the detection of two J_(2)s or one male in 0.5 g soil samples,which will provide technical support for the investigation of the occurrence and damage of *** and the formulation of efficient green co ntrol strategies.

A New Pathway to Synthesize Cyclomercurated Ferrocenylimines Containing Heterocyclic Ring

The cyclomercurated ferrocenylimines containing heterocyclic ring were prepared by the condensation of cyclomercuration of acylferrocene with the appropriate heterocyclic amine. This procedure provides an efficient method for the synthesis of cyclomerucurated ferroceny- limines containing heterocyclic ring which are difficultly synthesized by the conventional method. The reaction mechanism is proposed.

Identification of key enzymes in lignocellulose biosynthesis from dynamic observations in maize stalks

Maize stalk lignin and cellulose contents are linked to lodging resistance,disease resistance,feed quality and ethanol conversion *** the six-leaf stage of maize(V6),these constituents are biosynthesized and accumulated under the control of related enzymes and ***,the key enzymes,critical MYB transcription factors,and their dynamic alterations pattern under natural field circumstances are still ***,we selected five cultivars with significant differences in lignocellulose content and lodging resistance as testing materials,performed field experiments for two years,and investigated the dynamics of lignin and cellulose content,related enzyme concentrations,and gene expression levels in the 3^(rd) and 5^(th) internodes above the ground after *** results showed that lignin and cellulose content increased after V6,stabilizing during the silking *** study identified COMT(caffeic acid 3-Omethyltransferase),TAL(tyrosine ammonia-lyase)and PAL(phenylalanine ammonia-lyase)as the key enzymes of lignin biosynthesis,while ZmCOMT,ZmCesA10 and ZmCesA8 were identified as essential ***8,ZmMYB31 and ZmMYB39 were involved in regulating the expression of genes related to lignin synthesis,with ZmMYB31 potentially acting as a key negative regulator,while ZmMYB39 and ZmMYB8 acting as positive *** study also found that around 14 d after V6 was a critical stage for regulating lignocellulose synthesis in the 3^(rd) to 5^(th) basal *** provides a theoretical foundation for developing regulatory techniques and breeding new cultivars to enhance lodging and disease resistance as well as the utility of maize stalks.

The title compound [Cu （ADC）（2, 2＇-bipy）]n （ADC = C2 （COO）2^2.） was prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, X-ray analysis, respectively. The analysis of the crystal structure reveals that the copper atom is five-coordinated with two nitrogen atoms of 2, 2＇-bipy and three oxygen atoms of different acetylenedicarboxylate dianions. ADC as bridging ligands link the Cu （Ⅱ） ions, forming coordination polymer structure.

Investigations of the absorption and fluorescence spectra of hexakis (4-aminophenoxy)- cyclotriphosphazene at room temperature in three solvents of different polarity (N, N-dimethyl- formamide, tetrahydrofuran and toluene) have been conducted. And fluorescence lifetimes of these three solutions were also measured. Major reasons of such spectral behavior are discussed.

BACKGROUND Multiple system atrophy(MSA) is a serious progressive neurodegenerative disease. Early diagnosis of MSA is very difficult, and diagnostic biomarkers are limited. Growth differentiation factor 15(GDF15) is involved in the differentiation and progression of the central nervous system, and is widely distributed in peripheral blood, which may be a novel biomarker for *** To determine serum GDF15 levels, related factors and their potential diagnostic value in MSA patients, compared with Parkinson’s disease(PD) patients and healthy *** A case-control study was conducted, including 49 MSA patients, 50 PD patients and 50 healthy controls. Serum GDF15 levels were measured by human enzymelinked immunosorbent assay, and the differences between the MSA, PD and control groups were analyzed. Further investigations were performed in different MSA subgroups according to age of onset, sex, clinical subtypes, diagnostic criteria, and disease duration. Receiver-operating characteristic curve analysiswas used to evaluate the diagnostic value of GDF15, especially for the differential diagnosis between MSA and *** Serum GDF15 levels were significantly higher in MSA patients than in PD patients and healthy controls(P = 0.000). Males and those with a disease duration of more than three years showed higher serum GDF15 levels(P = 0.043 and 0.000;respectively). Serum GDF15 levels may be a potential diagnostic biomarker for MSA patients compared with healthy controls and PD patients(cutoff: 470.42 pg/m L, sensitivity: 85.7%, specificity: 88.0%;cutoff: 1075.91 pg/m L, sensitivity:51.0%, specificity: 96.0%;respectively).CONCLUSION Serum GDF15 levels are significantly higher in MSA patients and provide suggestions on the etiology of MSA.

提出了一种基于分级式特征提取的多视角人脸检测算法.首先,将训练所用人脸样本按照视角进行分组;其次,分别对每组样本进行特征提取,针对单一特征的局限性,提出了梯度方向直方图（HOG）和局部二值模式（LBP）的融合特征,为了快速构建特征金字塔,提出了一种分级式特征提取的方法;再次,使用基于隐含变量的支持向量机（LSVM）训练模型参数,获得多个模型;最后,将这些模型组合起来构成混合模型.在FDDB和AFW人脸数据库上进行了实验,结果表明：本算法可实现复杂背景下的多视角人脸检测,且比现有算法效果更好.
