Genome-wide identification and characterization of the JAZ gene family and its expression patterns under various abiotic stresses in Sorghum bicolor

The jasmonate ZIM domain(JAZ)protein belongs to the TIFY((TIF[F/Y]XG)domain protein)family,which is composed of several plant-specific proteins that play important roles in plant growth,development,and defense ***,the mechanism of the sorghum JAZ family in response to abiotic stress remains *** the present study,a total of 17 JAZ genes were identified in sorghum using a Hidden Markov Model *** addition,real-time quantification polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)was used to analyze the gene expression patterns under abiotic *** on phylogenetic tree analysis,the sorghum JAZ proteins were mainly divided into nine subfamilies.A promoter analysis revealed that the SbJAZ family contains diverse types of promoter cis-acting elements,indicating that JAZ proteins function in multiple pathways upon stress stimulation in *** to RT-qPCR,SbJAZ gene expression is ***,under cold,hot,polyethylene glycol,jasmonic acid,abscisic acid,and gibberellin treatments,the expression patterns of SbJAZ genes were distinctly different,indicating that the expression of SbJAZ genes may be coordinated with different ***,the overexpression of SbJAZ1 in Escherichia coli was found to promote the growth of recombinant cells under abiotic stresses,such as PEG 6000,NaCl,and 40℃ ***,our findings help us to better understand the potential molecular mechanisms of the SbJAZ family in sorghum in response to abiotic stresses.

Mechanism of nanoparticle aggregation in gas-liquid microfluidic mixing

Using gas-liquid segmented micromixers to prepare nanoparticles that have a homogeneous particle size, controllable shape, and monodispersity advantages. Although nanoparticle aggregation within a microfluid has been shown to be affected by the shear effect, the shear effect triggering conditions in gasliquid two-phase flow is unclear and the aggregation behavior of nanoparticles under the shear effect is difficult to predict, resulting in uncontrollable physical and chemical properties of nanoparticle aggregates. In this study, a numerical simulation of nanoparticle aggregation in gas-liquid two-phase flow under the shear effect is performed using the CFD-DEM method. Then, the effects of total flow rate,gas-liquid two-phase flow ratio, and particle volume fraction on particle aggregation were analyzed to achieve control of particle aggregation shape and size. Meanwhile, the triggering mechanism of the shear effect and the mechanism of the shear effect on the aggregation of nanoparticles were clarified. The results show that increasing the total flow rate or decreasing the gas-liquid two-phase flow rate ratio can induce the shear effect, which reduces the particle aggregation size and makes the morphology tend to be spherical. Moreover, increasing the particle volume fraction, and total flow rate or decreasing the gas-liquid two-phase flow rate ratio also increases the number of particle collisions and induce interparticle adhesion. Hence, particle adhesion and the shear effect compete with each other and together affect particle aggregation.

Probiotic Pediococcus pentosaceus restored gossypol-induced intestinal barrier injury by increasing propionate content in Nile tilapia

Background Intestinal barrier is a dynamic interface between the body and the ingested food components, however, dietary components or xenobiotics could compromise intestinal integrity, causing health risks to the host. Gossypol, a toxic component in cottonseed meal(CSM), caused intestinal injury in fish or other monogastric animals. It has been demonstrated that probiotics administration benefits the intestinal barrier integrity, but the efficacy of probiotics in maintaining intestinal health when the host is exposed to gossypol remains unclear. Here, a strain(YC) affiliated to Pediococcus pentosaceus was isolated from the gut of Nile tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus) and its potential to repair gossypol-induced intestinal damage was *** A total of 270 Nile tilapia(2.20 ± 0.02 g) were allotted in 3 groups with 3 tanks each and fed with 3 diets including CON(control diet), GOS(control diet containing 300 mg/kg gossypol) and GP(control diet containing 300 mg/kg gossypol and 10^(8) colony-forming unit(CFU)/g P. pentosaceus YC), respectively. After 10 weeks, addition of P. pentosaceus YC restored growth retardation and intestinal injury induced by gossypol in Nile tilapia. Transcriptome analysis and si RNA interference experiments demonstrated that NOD-like receptors(NLR) family caspase recruitment domain(CARD) domain containing 3(Nlrc3) inhibition might promote intestinal stem cell(ISC) proliferation, as well as maintaining gut barrier integrity. 16S r RNA sequencing and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS) revealed that addition of P. pentosaceus YC altered the composition of gut microbiota and increased the content of propionate in fish gut. Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a Novel Ternary Ni(II) Complex with 2-Hydroxyl-1,10- phenanthroline and 2-Hydroxynicotinic Acid as ligands

A novel ternary complex of [NiL1L2·2H2O]·NO3·H2O （L1 = 2-hydroxyl-1,10-phenanthroline （HOphen）, L2 = 2-hydroxynicotinic acid （H2nicO）） was synthesized, and its crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffraction and further characterized by infrared and elementary analysis. The title complex （C18H18NiN4O10, Mr = 509.07） belongs to the triclinic system, space group P1^- with a = 712490（7）, b = 11.0164（10）, c = 13.3864（13）A, α = 91.6040（10）,β= 98.8620（10）, γ= 107.1140（10）°, V= 1006.43（17）A^3, Z = 2, Dc = 1.680 g/cm^3,μ= 1.032 mm^-1, F（000） = 524, the final R = 0.0461 and wR= 0.1238. In the complex, the Ni（H） ion is six-coordinated to assume a distorted octahedral geometry, and a 3D supramolecular network comes into being via weak intermolecular interactions of X-O--.H （X = N, O）.
