Size fraction of phytoplankton and the contribution of natural plankton to the carbon source of Zhikong scallop Chlamys farreri in mariculture ecosystem of the Sanggou Bay

The biomass and size fraction of phytoplankton in terms of chlorophyll a（Chl a） was measured during four cruises conducted in April, July, October 2013 and January 2014 in mariculture area, the Sanggou Bay, China.Results show that total Chl a levels in the surface seawater of the Sanggou Bay generally range from 0.10 to 20.46μg/L, with an average value of 2.13 μg/L. Nano-phytoplankton was the most important size-fraction and accounted for about 65.1% of total Chl a. In order to evaluate the importance of the ＂protozoan trophic link＂ for energy transfer from the microbial loop to filter-feeding feeders, Zhikong scallop Chlamys farreri was then offered a natural planktonic community as potential prey. Results show that scallops obtained carbon source from natural plankton with the rate of 11 033.05 μg/（g·d）. Protists（nanoflagellates and ciliates） were the dominant source of carbon retained by scallop（48.78%）. The microbial loop provided 58.45% of the carbon source for farmed scallops. These results indicate that the microbial loop represent a valuable trophic resource in mariculture system of the Sanggou Bay.

Water temperature is generally considered to be a major factor af fecting the physiological and biochemical activities of marine bivalves. Here, the physiological and biochemical responses of Yesso scallop, Patinopecten yessoensis, to acute water temperature changes in summer were studied. Scallops were transferred directly to a lower temperature( T dec treatment)(from 23°C to 15°C) or to a higher temperature( Ti nc treatment)(from 15°C to 23°C) for 72 h, respectively. Results showed that the oxygen consumption and ammonia-N excretion rates of P. yessoensis decreased signi?cantly in the T dec treatment but increased dramatically at 6 h in the Ti nc treatment( P <0.05). In the T dec treatment, hepatopancreas antioxidant enzyme activities, superoxide dismutase(SOD) and catalase(CAT) activities, increased substantially within 72 h( P <0.05). However, a signi?cant decrease in CAT activity was found at 12 h in the Ti nc treatment( P <0.01).A signi?cant enhancement of acid phosphatase(ACP) activity and malondialdehyde(MDA) content was detected when scallops were acutely exposed to a temperature of 15°C. The levels of Cu/Zn-SOD gene expression in their gills up-regulated signi?cantly in response to acute temperature changes( P <0.01). These data suggest that acute temperature change af fects physiological and biochemical functions, and improve our knowledge of P. yessoensis under conditions of thermal stress.

Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture(IMTA)is an effective method for sustainable aquaculture as species from different trophic levels could reduce negative effects from fed species in the environment.A proper proportion of different trophic species in an IMTA system could improve the aquaculture production and environmental sustainability.At present,research on the proper proportions for farming species is scarce.We investigated the effects of IMTA modes of oyster(Crassostrea gigas)and kelp(Saccharina japonica)in different weight ratios on water quality and carbonate system in a closed enclosure experiment for three days in the Sanggou Bay in Shandong Province,China,in December 2017.Nine collocation modes in oyster:kelp weight ratio were tested showing as 24:3,24:2,24:1,16:3,16:2,16:1,8:3,8:2,and 8:1.The water parameters were determined at 17:00 on Day 1(D1),and 6:00 and 17:00 on Days 2(D2)and 3(D3).As two-way ANOVA showed,all increased parameters(dissolved oxygen(DO),pH,chl a,the carbonate system and pCO2)were significantly related to oyster-kelp modes,and interaction between modes and time were also significant(P<0.05).On the 3th day,the 8:3 mode was the highest in DO,pH,chl a,CO32-(P<0.05),and dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC),HCO3-,CO2,and pCO2 were the lowest(P<0.05).According to previous references and the results of this study,the appropriate oyster:kelp proportion at the beginning of winter is from 8:2 to 8:3.The results of this study may help government to optimize the aquaculture structure of Sanggou Bay.

Tolerance, Oxygen Consumption and Ammonia Excretion of Ophiopholis sarsii vadicola in Different Temperatures and Salinities

There are more than 2000 species of brittle stars in the world. For most of them, many scientific questions including basic characteristics of eco-physiology are still unknown. In the present study, Ophiopholis sarsii vadicola acclimated at 15℃, salinity 31, were assessed for temperature and salinity tolerance. Its oxygen consumption and ammonia excretion were studied at different temperatures(5, 10, 15, 20, 25℃) and salinities(25, 30, 35). O. sarsii vadicola could tolerate 0–24℃ and no brittle star was dead in the salinity range of 19–48 in the experimental situation. Two-way ANOVA showed that the oxygen consumption and ammonia excretion normalized with both dry mass and wet mass, Q10, which is used to describe the temperature sensitivity of respiration, and moisture content were significantly affected by temperature and salinity, and the combined effects of the two factors were significant. Stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that logarithmic oxygen consumption and ammonia excretion showed a significant positive relationship with logarithmic temperature and salinity. The logarithmic moisture content of the brittle stars showed an inverse relationship with logarithmic salinity, but a positive relationship with logarithmic temperature. This suggests that the tolerance of temperature and salinity of brittle stars is closely related to their living environment, and that the effects of temperature on oxygen consumption are more significant at higher salinity, and that the ammonia excretion is less affected by salinity at lower temperatures.

The present study investigated the applicability of integrated polychaete-fish culture for fish waste removal to offset negative impact induced by organic benthic enrichment.A field study demonstrated that deposition rate was significantly higher underneath the fish farm than that in control area.The material settling under the farm was characterized by a high amount of fish feces(45%) and uneaten feed(27%).Both feeding rate(FR) and apparent digestibility rate(ADR) increased with decreasing body weight,as was indicated by significantly a higher rate observed for the groups containing smaller individuals in a lab study.The nutrient in fresh deposited material(De) was higher than that in sediments collected under the farm(Se),resulting in lower feces production but higher apparent digestibility rate for the De group as feeding rate was similar.Consequently,higher nutrient removal efficiency was observed in the De group.A mass balance approach indicated that approximately 400–500 individuals m^(-2) is required for removing all waste materials deposited underneath the fish farm,whereas abundance can be lower(about 300–350 individuals m^(-2)) when only the fish waste needs to be removed.The results showed that a significant amount of waste had been accumulated in the fish cages in Sanggou Bay.The integration of fish with P.aibuhitensis seems promising for preventing organic pollution in the sediment and therefore is an effective strategy for mitigating negative effect of fish farms.Thus such integration can become a new IMTA(integrated multi-trophic aquaculture) model in Sanggou Bay.

目的探讨针灸联合生物反馈电刺激治疗产后压力性尿失禁(postpartum stress urinary incontinence,PSUI)的疗效及对国际尿失禁咨询委员会尿失禁问卷表(Incontinence Questionnaire of the International Incontinence Advisory Committee,ICI-Q-SF)评分和盆底肌表面电信号的影响。方法选取2022年6月—2023年6月于本院就诊的PSUI患者264例,随机分为对照组(n=132)和研究组(n=132),对照组采取生物反馈电刺激治疗,研究组采取针灸联合生物反馈电刺激治疗,均治疗8周,观察两组治疗疗效,对比治疗前后漏尿量、盆底功能、肌力、肌纤维疲劳度、ICI-Q-SF得分、盆底肌表面电信号、尿动力学水平[最大尿道闭合压(MUCP)、最大尿流率(MFR)、达峰时间(Tmax)、咳嗽点膀胱内压(CLPP)]。采用GEE模型评价两种治疗方法对患者ICI-Q-SF评分和盆底肌表面电信号的影响。结果对照组总有效率为74.24%,研究组总有效率为91.67%,两组临床疗效比较差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。与治疗前比较,治疗4周、6周、8周后两组患者阴道收缩压、静息压、盆底肌表面电信号水平(活力)及尿动力学水平均有显著升高,而膀胱颈活动度、尿道旋转角度、漏尿量、ICI-Q-SF评分、盆底肌表面电信号水平(峰值)显著降低(P<0.05),且研究组优于对照组(P<0.05)。治疗4周、6周、8周后,研究组盆底肌力情况及盆底Ⅰ类、Ⅱ类肌纤维疲劳度均优于对照组,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。采用GEE模型结果显示,治疗时间、治疗方案及两者的交互作用比较差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论针灸联合生物反馈电刺激在治疗产后压力性尿失禁方面具有很好的应用前景,可显著改善患者的ICI-Q-SF评分和盆底肌表面电信号,应用价值较高。

养殖环境评价是衡量海水养殖活动是否健康、可持续的重要环节。为掌握北方典型规模化养殖海湾——桑沟湾沉积环境质量状况,于2017年4和7月对桑沟湾全湾海域进行大型底栖动物走航调查取样,分析了大型底栖动物的种类组成、生物量、栖息密度及群落结构;运用AMBI(AZTI’s marine biotic index)指数法和M-AMBI(Multivariate-AMBI)指数法,分析了大型底栖动物群落受干扰程度,评价了沉积环境质量状况。研究表明,在两次调查中多毛类均为优势种,其中4月多毛类36种,占总种数63.16%;7月32种,占总种数的60.38%。AMBI法的评估结果表明,调查海域各站位以受到轻度扰动为主,个别站位受到中度扰动和无扰动,干扰程度从小到大依次为海带区<海草区<混养区<贝类区;M-AMBI法的评估结果表明,生态环境质量等级为良或优的站位占60.00%~68.42%,海草区环境质量状况要明显好于养殖区。多营养层次综合养殖模式缓解了桑沟湾近海生态系统的养殖压力,使得桑沟湾受人为干扰较小,海草区环境质量为优,贝类区、混养区和海带区的环境质量处于中等和良之间。

In pregnancy,the maternal immune system(including innate and adaptive immunity)makes elaborate adjustments to endure the embryo’s expression of paternal antigens and to protect the embryo from attacks by invading pathogens such as bacteria or viruses.1 As the predominant innate immune cells during gestation,natural killer(NK)cells have been proven to mediate the establishment of maternal-fetal immune tolerance and to initiate appropriate defenses against infections.2 Tim-3,a member of the T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain proteins,has emerged as a key molecule in both innate and adaptive responses and represents a promising novel therapeutic target.

Mineral processing wastewater(MPW)with large discharge and high toxicity affects environmental safety,and the realizing zero discharge of MPW is of great significance for reducing environmental pollution,saving water resources,and promoting the sustainable development of the mining industry.In this study,we reported natural marmatite(NM)as a low-cost and efficient photocatalyst for the treatment of MPW to help zero wastewater discharge.The photocatalytic activity of NM was evaluated by the removal of total organic carbon(TOC)from MPW under visible-light illumination,and the optimal degradation conditions were discussed.Results showed that superoxide free radicals(^(·)O_(2)^(-))were the dominant active species responsible for organic pollutants degradation,and 74.25%TOC removal was obtained after 120 min reaction under the optimum treatment conditions.Meanwhile,the wastewater treated by NM photocatalysis can be reused in the flotation system without adverse impact on the product index.Based on these findings,a model of zero wastewater discharge for flotation with the help of photocatalytic treatment was established,it indicated that the water of the whole system can be balanced without affecting the ore dressing index,which showed that visible light-driven photocatalyst has a promising application prospect in the treatment and recycling of industrial wastewater.
