The role of sea surface temperature(SST)variability in the pre-monsoonal(April to July)intraseasonal oscillation(ISO)over the South China Sea(SCS)is investigated using the Community Earth System Model Version 2(CESM2).An Atmospheric Model Intercomparison Project(AMIP)simulation forced by daily sea surface temperatures(SSTs)derived from a parallel coupled general circulation model(CGCM)run was compared with observations and the mother coupled simulation.In the coupled model,the SST warming leads the peak convection about 1/4 period as in observations.The paralell uncoupled model fails to simulate this phase relationship,implying the importance of air-sea coupling in reproducing realistic ISO.due to the near-quadrature phase relationship between SST and precipitation ISOs during the ISO events,it is difficult to distinguish the active/passive role of SST from observations alone.Significant correlation in intraseasonal precipitation between the daily SST-forced AMIP and mother CGCM runs indicates that SST plays a role in driving the atmospheric ISO.

To the Editor:Blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome (BRBNS) is a rare systemic vascular disorder characterized by multiple venous malformations involving many organs.BRBNS can occur in various organs,but the most frequently involved organs are the skin and gastrointestinal tract.Gastrointestinal lesions of BRBNS can cause acute or chronic bleeding and anemia.[1] Only several case reports of pregnant women with BRBNS could be found in the current database and most of them were complicated by hemorrhage of the gastrointestinal tract.We report a case of BRBNS during pregnancy that suffered from severe pulmonary embolism (PE) and was successfully resuscitated.

Irritable bowel syndrome is a gastrointestinal disorder of unknown etiology characterized by widespread,chronic abdominal pain associated with altered bowel movements.Increasing amounts of evidence indicate that injury and inflammation during the neonatal period have long-term effects on tissue structure and function in the adult that may predispose to gastrointestinal diseases.In this study we aimed to investigate how the epigenetic regulation of DNA demethylation of the p2x7r locus guided by the transcription factor GATA binding protein 1(GATA1)in spinal astrocytes affects chronic visceral pain in adult rats with neonatal colonic inflammation(NCI).The spinal GATA1 targeting to DNA demethylation of p2x7r locus in these rats was assessed by assessing GATA1 function with luciferase assay,chromatin immunoprecipitation,patch clamp,and interference in vitro and in vivo.In addition,a decoy oligodeoxynucleotide was designed and applied to determine the influence of GATA1 on the DNA methylation of a p2x7r CpG island.We showed that NCI caused the induction of GATA1,Ten-eleven translocation 3(TET3),and purinergic receptors(P2X7Rs)in astrocytes of the spinal dorsal horn,and demonstrated that inhibiting these molecules markedly increased the pain threshold,inhibited the activation of astrocytes,and decreased the spinal sEPSC frequency.NCI also markedly demethylated the p2x7r locus in a manner dependent on the enhancement of both a GATA1–TET3 physical interaction and GATA1 binding at the p2x7r promoter.Importantly,we showed that demethylation of the p2x7r locus(and the attendant increase in P2X7R expression)was reversed upon knockdown of GATA1 or TET3 expression,and demonstrated that a decoy oligodeoxynucleotide that selectively blocked the GATA1 binding site increased the methylation of a CpG island in the p2x7r promoter.These results demonstrate that chronic visceral pain is mediated synergistically by GATA1 and TET3 via a DNA-demethylation mechanism that controls p2x7r transcription in spinal dorsal horn astrocytes,and pr

Ziziphi Spinosae Semen(ZSS) has been used for treatment of insomnia in China for centuries. To reveal the influence of insomnia on the levels of the neurotransmitters including serotonin(5-HT), glutamic acid(Glu),γ-aminobutyric acid(GABA),noradrenaline(NE) and dopamine(DA), and to study the role of ZSS aqueous extract in the treatment of insomnia, an UPLC-ESIMS/MS method was developed and validated for simultaneous determination of five neurotransmitters in the rat brain. The brain samples were pretreated by one-step direct protein precipitation with acetonitrile. The analytes were detected in positive mode with multiple reaction monitoring(MRM) and the procedure was completed in less than 10 min. The method showed a good linearity(R^2 >0.9967) with the other validation parameters were within acceptance range. The results indicated that the concentration of 5-HT, GABA and DA is significantly lower(P duced insomnia rat model group, while Glu and NE significantly higher than those in control group(P dulating the levels of monoamines and amino acid neurotransmitters in the brain.

Transcription factors(TFs)regulate diverse stress defensive-associated physiological processes and plant stress responses.We characterized TaNF-YB11,a gene of the NF-YB TF family in Triticum aestivum,in mediating plant drought tolerance.TaNF-YB11 harbors the conserved domains specified by its NF-YB partners and targets the nucleus after the endoplasmic reticulum(ER)assortment.Yeast two-hybrid assay indicated the interactions of TaNF-YB11 with TaNF-YA2 and TaNF-YC3,two proteins encoded by genes in the NF-YA and NF-YC families,respectively.These results suggested that the heterotrimer established among them further regulated downstream genes at the transcriptional level.The transcripts of TaNF-YB11 were promoted in roots and leaves under a 27-h drought regime.Moreover,its upregulated expression levels under drought were gradually restored following a recovery treatment,suggesting its involvement in plant drought response.TaNF-YB11 conferred improved drought tolerance on plants;the lines overexpressing target gene displayed improved phenotype and biomass compared with wild type(WT)under drought treatments due to enhancement of stomata closing,osmolyte accumulation,and cellular reactive oxygen species(ROS)homeostasis.Knockdown expression of TaP5CS2,a P5CS family gene modulating proline biosynthesis that showed upregulated expression in drought-challenged TaNF-YB11 lines,alleviated proline accumulation of plants treated by drought.Likewise,TaSOD2 and TaCAT3,two genes encoding superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT)that were upregulated underlying TaNF-YB11 regulation,played critical roles in ROS homeostasis via regulating SOD and CAT activities.RNA-seq analysis revealed that numerous genes associated with processes of‘cellular processes',‘environmental information processing',‘genetic information processing',‘metabolism',and‘organismal systems'modified transcription under drought underlying control of TaNF-YB11.These results suggested that the TaNF-YB11-mediated drought response is possibly accomplished through the

Chemical fixation of CO_(2)into C1 source, as a general approach, can effectively alleviate the emission of greenhouse gasses. Whereas, the challenge posed by the need for efficient catalysts with high catalytic active sites still exists. In this work, we reported a series of new hexavanadate clusters, [(C6H6ON)2(C2H8N2)2(CH3O)6VIV6O8](V6–1), [(C6H6ON)2(C3H10N2)2(CH3O)6VIV6O8](V6–2), [(C6H6ON)2(C6H14N2)2(CH3O)6VIV6O8](V6–3) and [(C6H6ON)2(C4H11N2O)2(CH3O)4VIV6O8](V6–4), assembled by 2-aminophenol and four different kinds of Lewis bases(LB), ethanediamine(en), 1,2-diaminopropane, 1,2-cyclohexanediamine and N-(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine(ben) together. Among them, the basic unit {V6} cluster featured Z-shaped configuration represents a brand-new example of hexanuclear vanadium clusters. Remarkably, the catalytic tests demonstrated that V6–1 as catalyst displays high catalytic activity in the cycloaddition for the CO_(2)fixation into cyclic carbonates by virtue of open V sites. As expected, for oxidative desulfurization of sulfides, V6–1 also exhibits satisfied catalytic effectiveness. Furthermore, the recycling test confirmed that catalyst V6–1 may be a bifunctional heterogeneous catalyst with great promise for both CO_(2)cycloaddition and oxidative desulfurization reactions.

Study on tungsten sintering temperature field based on electromagnetic simulation and computational fluid dynamics

In order to study the influence of various sintering variables more intuitively and clearly,electromagnetic field analysis and computational fl uid dynamics are used to analyze the infl uence of gas flow,heating power and other process parameters on the temperature range of medium-frequency sintering in this paper.The results indicate that the uniformity of temperature fi eld is determined by the gas flow rate and heating power.When the heating power is 50 kW,the stable temperature drops about 10 K for every 1 m^(3)·h^(−1)increase of hydrogen flow.The peak value of the maximum temperature diff erence on the tungsten rods gradually increases with the increase of the hydrogen flow rate,and it appears slightly later.The temperature distribution of tungsten rods in furnace is similar with diff erent hydrogen flow rate.At the same time,the closer to the furnace wall,the higher the temperature of the tungsten rod.The temperature diff erence between tungsten rods mainly occurred within 1 h after the beginning of heating.Increasing the heating power can improve the stable temperature,but has little eff ect on the heating time.Increasing heating power can increase the peak value of the maximum temperature diff erence on the tungsten rods,but has little eff ect on the occurrence time of the peak value of the maximum temperature diff erence on the tungsten rods.Increasing the heating power will increase the temperature diff erence of a single tungsten rod,but the temperature diff erence of a single tungsten rod never exceeds 65 K.This study can be used to guide the process optimization design.Combined with numerical simulation calculation,the sintering parameters with low energy consumption and high temperature uniformity can be quickly and eff ectively found,thus improving the microstructure and properties of sintered tungsten products.

Triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)is regarded as an effective strategy to convert environment mechanical energy into electricity to meet the distributed energy demand of large number of sensors in the Internet of Things(IoTs).Although TENG based on the coupling of triboelectrification and air-breakdown achieves a large direct current(DC)output,material abrasion is a bottleneck for its applications.Here,inspired by primary cell and its DC signal output characteristics,we propose a novel primary cell structure TENG(PC-TENG)based on contact electrification and electrostatic induction,which has multiple working modes,including contact separation mode,freestanding mode and rotation mode.The PC-TENG produces DC output and operates at low surface contact force.It has an ideal effective charge density(1.02 m Cm^(-2)).Meanwhile,the PC-TENG shows a superior durability with 99% initial output after 100,000 operating cycles.due to its excellent output performance and durability,a variety of commercial electronic devices are powered by PC-TENG via harvesting wind energy.This work offers a facile and ideal scheme for enhancing the electrical output performance of DC-TENG at low surface contact force and shows a great potential for the energy harvesting applications in IoTs.

Nebkhas are often extensively distributed in arid and semi-arid areas, and play an important role in the stabilization of ecological environment in these areas. This paper reviews the following aspects, including formation and succession, spatial distribution, shape and surface airflow characteristics, balance between erosion and deposition, ecological and physiological characteristics of vegetation, response to precipitation and groundwater, soil properties as well as the protection measures. We found that nebkhas were studied without differentiation of succession periods, and shape characteristics, surface airflow, soil proper- ties as well as vegetation dynamics in different succession periods were not fully understood, which made it difficult to explain the succession dynamics of nebkhas and its affecting factors. Previous studies of nebkhas were over-emphasized for its role as an indicator of land deg- radation, while its ecological functions in degraded ecosystems were neglected, which was unfavorable for the ecological restorations in arid and semi-arid areas. Future studies should pay more attention to the variation of vegetation, soil as well as hydrological process in the succession of nebkhas and its interaction between different influencing factors. In addition, positive role of nebkhas in degraded ecosystems in arid and semi-arid areas should be fully discussed. According to the data got from the above, effective protection measures of nebkhas should be explored.
