Potential genomic biomarkers of obesity and its comorbidities for phthalates and bisphenol A mixture:in silico toxicogenomic approach

This in silico toxicogenomic study aims to explore the relationship between phthalates and bisphenol A(BPA)co-exposure and obesity,as well as its comorbid conditions,in order to construct a possible set of genomic *** Comparative Toxicogenomics Database(CTD;http://***)was used as the main data mining tool,along with GeneMania(https://***),ToppGene Suite(https://***)and DisGeNET(http://***).Among the phthalates,bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate(DEHP)and dibutyl phthalate(DBP)were chosen as the most frequently curated phthalates in CTD,which also share similar mechanisms of ***,DBP and BPA interacted with 84,90 and 194 obesity-related genes/proteins,involved in 67,65 and 116 pathways,*** these,53 genes/proteins and 42 pathways were common to all three substances.31 genes/proteins had matching interactions for all three investigated substances,while more than half of these genes/proteins(56.49%)were in co-expression.7 of the common genes/proteins(6 relevant to humans:CCL2,iL6,LPL,PPARG,SERPiNE1,and TNF)were identified in all the investigated obesity comorbidities,while PPARG and LPL were most closely linked to *** genes/proteins could serve as a target for further in vitro and in vivo studies of molecular mechanisms of DEHP,DBP and BPA mixture obesogenic *** reported here should be applicable to any mixture of environmental chemicals and any disease present in CTD.

Therapeutic potential of mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of acute liver failure

Acute liver failure(ALF)is a severe and life-threatening condition in which rapid deterioration of liver function develops in a patient who has no preexisting liver *** stem cells(MSCs)are immunoregulatory stem cells which are able to modulate phenotype and function of all immune cells that play pathogenic role in the development and progression of *** in juxtacrine and paracrine manner attenuate antigen-presenting properties of dendritic cells and macrophages,reduce production of inflammatory cytokines in T lymphocytes,suppress hepatotoxicity of natural killer T(NKT)cells and promote generation and expansion of immunosuppressive T,B and NKT regulatory cells in acutely inflamed *** to their nano-sized dimension and lipid envelope,intravenously injected MSC-derived exosomes(MSC-Exos)may by-pass all biological barriers to deliver MSC-sourced immunoregulatoy factors directly into the liver-infiltrated immune cells and injured *** obtained by us and others revealed that intravenous administration of MSCs and MSC-Exos efficiently attenuated detrimental immune response and acute inflammation in the liver,suggesting that MSCs and MSC-Exos could be considered as potentially new remedies in the immunotherapy of *** this review,we emphasize the current knowledge about molecular and cellular mechanisms which are responsible for MSC-based modulation of liver-infiltrated immune cells and we discuss different insights regarding the therapeutic potential of MSCs in liver regeneration.

Exosomes derived from mesenchymal stem cells(MSC-Exos)are nano-sized extracellular vesicles enriched with bioactive molecules,such as microRNAs,enzymes,cytokines,chemokines,immunomodulatory,trophic,and growth *** molecules regulate the survival,phenotype,and function of malignant and tumor-infiltrated immune *** to their nano-size and bilayer lipid envelope,MSC-Exos can easily bypass biological barriers and may serve as drug carriers to deliver chemotherapeutics directly into the tumor ***,we summarize current knowledge regarding molecular mechanisms responsible for MSC-Exos-dependent modulation of tumor progression and discuss insights regarding the therapeutic potential of MSC-Exos in the treatment of malignant diseases.

in this editorial,we discuss the status of a therapeutic approach to emotional reactions accompanying thermal skin *** are considered a major health problem,as well as an economic and social problem,with potentially devastating and life-changing *** affect a wide range of patients with different damage mechanisms,varied depths,and localizations of the *** most common are thermal burns,with more than 11 million occurrences annually according to the World Health Organization *** skin injuries are among the most tragic and catastrophic injuries,almost unsurpassed in terms of severity,morbidity,and mortality,as well as functional,aesthetic,social,economic,and psychological *** survivors face stress,anxiety,depression,low self-esteem,body deformity,social isolation,unemployment,financial burden,and family *** advances in acute burn care have allowed researchers and physicians to pay more attention to other effects of burns,focusing on psychological consequences in *** from the significant improvements in routine protocols,it seems useful to take care of psychological disturbances that occur simultaneously but may emerge as the most lasting outcome of those *** that sense,various standards and additional approaches may be involved to achieve overall recovery.

Management in Sustainable Tourism Development of Serbian Spas

Since Serbia disposes with significant natural potentials, it could have been among the most attractive countries in Europe only if the historical circumstances had been different. Existing natural resources and possibilities for their improvement demand planned strategy to make them efficient. Tourism, as a significant instrument of development, can and should take an active part in the strategy of sustainable development. Special attention in the paper is paid to the development of Vrnjacka Banja Spa as it is one of the main tourist destinations in Serbia. The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of a business venture （SWOT） analysis offers the basic elements for defining the strategic direction and program priorities, measures and targets for improving the overall development of spas in Serbia. To identify the SWOT factors, we used materials from a number of studies on Serbian tourism, surveys on tourists in Vrnjcka Banja Spa and analysis of the market and competition. The SWOT analysis proves that the priority in development of spas in Serbia is attractiveness of the destination which involves the spa-health tourism with great potential in complementary forms of tourism, such as sport-recreational, cultural, transit and hunting tourism. it means that the future strategy should be based on improving and involving modern spa products. it means improving and maximizing marketing so as to make the tourist destination attractive. it further implies maximum investment in modern tourist products.

Hepatitis C virus genotypes in Serbia and Montenegro: The prevalence and clinical signifi cance

AiM： To investigate the prevalence of hepatitis C virus （HCV） genotypes in Serbia and Montenegro and their influence on some clinical characteristics in patients with chronic HCV infection. METHODS： A total of 164 patients was investigated. Complete history, route of infection, assessment of alcohol consumption, an abdominal ultrasound, standard biochemical tests and liver biopsy were done. Gene sequencing of 5＇ NTR type-specific PCR or commercial kits was performed for HCV genotyping and subtyping. The SPSS for Windows （version 10.0） was used for univariate regression analysis with further multivariate analysis. RESULTS： The genotypes 1, 2, 3, 4, 1b3a and 1b4 were present in 57.9%, 3.7%, 23.2%, 6.7%, 6.7% and 1.8% of the patients, respectively. The genotype 1 （mainly the subtype 1b） was found to be independent of age in subjects older than 40 years, high viral load, more severe necro-inflammatory activity, advanced stage of fibrosis, and absence of intravenous drug abuse. The genotype 3a was associated with intravenous drug abuse and the age below 40. Multivariate analysis demonstrated age over 40 and intravenous drug abuse as the positive predictive factors for the genotypes lb and 3a, respectively.CONCLUSiON： in Serbia and Montenegro, the genotypes 1b and 3a predominate in patients with chronic HCV infection. The subtype lb is characteristic of older patients, while the genotype 3a is common in drug abusers. Association of the subtype lb with advanced liver disease, higher viral load and histological activity suggests earlier infection with this genotype and eventually its increased pathogenicity.
