Resilience of hydraulic structures under significant impact of typhoons

Vulnerability to natural disasters falls into three categories： exposure, resistance, and resilience, where resilience mainly refers to the capability of a pressure-bearing system to recover by returning to its initial state, that is, the ability to adapt to disaster pressure. Resilience is a major subject of research on disaster prevention and mitigation. This research mainly focuses on the ability of the hydraulic structure to recover from the significant impacts of typhoons. According to the load/unload response ratio theory, the degree of instability by which nonlinear systems can be identified according to the difference between load and unload responses was analyzed. This analysis was used as a basis to study the resilience of a hydraulic structure. Taking the Yangtze River embankments under the impact of Typhoon Matsa as an example, the ability of the typical sections of different types of embankments to adapt to the significant impact of the typhoon, i.e., the resilience of the hydraulic structure, is described with the help of the load/unload response ratio （L）. The results of the calculated resilience reflect the actual conditions of the structure and can be used to determine the applicability of the embankment section. The load/unload response ratio theory is one of the effective tools for calculating the resilience of hydraulic structures under the significant impacts of typhoons.

Molecular simulations of methane, ethane and propane adsorption on TON

The aim of this study was to understand and characterize the adsorption of small alkanes, namely methane, ethane and propane, in zeolite TON through detailed Monte Carlo simulations. The isotherms of pure components were calculated and showed good agreement with experimental data. The adsorption positions, adsorption energy of pure components and isotherms of mixtures were also simulated and the results are discussed.

Ion-exchange Polymer Metal Composites （IPMC） are a new class of intelligent material that can be used effectively as actuators and artificial muscles. IPMC was fabricated and its displacement and force characteristics were investigated with respect to voltage, frequency and waveform of the controlling signal. A square waveform input generated slightly larger displacement and force than sinusoidal or triangular waveform. When the voltage was increased and the frequency was decreased, displacement and force were both increased. However, although the bending deformation of IPMC was large, the output force was much lower than we expected. Improvement of the force output is key and is the main obstacle to be overcome in order to make IPMC of practical use.

Characteristics of helium accumulation in the Guanzhong Basin, China

Guanzhong Basin is located in the transitional zone between the Qinling orogenic belt and the Ordos plateau. Analyses of drill and geothermal wells depict that the Guanzhong Basin has abundant gas, and its major source rocks are the U-rich granites. In this study, the granitoid intrusive samples were collected from the Huashan, Baoji, Muhuguan rocks in Guanzhong Basin. A micro laser Raman spectrum examination was used to measure the composition of inclusion in the granite quartz fissures. The results depict that the inclusions include both gas-liquid and H2O-NaCl-CO2 inclusions and that their composition primarily includes H2O and CO2, with small amounts of CH4, H2 and H2S. These inclusions can be classified into nearly-primary, early secondary, and late secondary inclusions, which have homogenization temperatures of greater than 430℃, 330-370℃ and 170-230℃, respectively, based on the inclusion measurements. Additionally, the apatite fission-track investigations of six samples, which were collected from the granites at Huashan, Baoji rocks and the southern margin of Muhuguan along with the Cretaceous Sigou Formation sandstones that are located in the northwestern margin of the Guanzhong Basin reveal that the northern Guanzhong Basin began to receive deposits as early as 84 -69 Ma. This period was accompanied by the rapid uplift of the Qinling orogenic belt, which was followed by an uplift of the southern basin margin and the Qinling orogenic belt from 44-28 Ma. The authors obtained an age histogram and a probability density distribution of three sample points. The results show that the age spectra of the zircons in the Cretaceous Sigou Formation sandstones can be divided into four tectonic events. Combined with the ages of apatite fission tracks and zircon, the Guanzhong Basin has experienced five tectonic stages as follows: 28-84 Ma, 170-260 Ma, 280-510 Ma, 610-1200 Ma, and 1210-2870 Ma. A Quantitative Version of the Bishop–Phelps Theorem for Operators in Hilbert Spaces

Interoperative fundus image and report sharing in compliance with integrating the healthcare enterprise conformance and web access to digital imaging and communication in medicine persistent object protocol

我国已进入全面建设社会主义现代化国家的新发展阶段,实现高水平科技自立自强的内在需求日益凸显,不断重塑区域创新格局。基于省级面板数据,采用系统GMM估计方法,从规模与结构双维空间相对差异视角切入,探究研发投入强度与结构变化对区域创新绩效的动态影响,进而把握创新格局演进的内在机理。结果发现:研发投入强度、结构变化对区域创新绩效存在显著影响;分区域看,研发投入强度、结构变化对东部、西部创新绩效的影响显著不同于其对中部的影响。因此,不同类型区域应全面认识研发投入强度及其结构的动态演化产生的异质性影响,提升区域科技政策的精准性、靶向发力。

In the present work,selective laser melting(SLM)technology was utilized for manufacturing CX stainless steel samples under a series of laser *** effect of laser linear energy density on the microstructure characteristics,phase distribution,crystallographic orientation and mechanical properties of these CX stainless steel samples were investigated theoretically and experimentally via scanning electron microscope(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)and transmission electron microscope(TEM).Based on the systematic study,the SLM CX stainless steel sample with best surface roughness(Ra=4.05±1.8μm)and relative density(Rd=99.72%±0.22%)under the optimal linear density(η=245 J/m)can be *** CX stainless steel was primarily constituted by a large number of fine martensite(α’phase)structures(i.e.,cell structures,cellular dendrites and blocky grains)and a small quantity of austenite(γphase)*** pre ferred crystallographic orientation(i.e.,direction)can be determined in the XZ plane of the SLM CX ***,under the optimal linear energy density,the good combinations with the highest ultimate tensile strength(UTS=1068.0%±5.9%)and the best total elongation(TE=15.70%±0.26%)of the SLM CX sample can be *** strengthening dominates the strengthening mechanism of the SLM CX sample in as-built state.
