Multiple Nanoparticles Coupling Strategy for Enhancing Optical Filter Performance of Spectral Splitter Used in Photovoltaic/Thermal System

Selective absorptive nanofluid can pre-absorb certain sunlight wavelength that cannot be used by PV and transmits remaining sunlight to the surface of PV,which can decouple PV from the thermal receiver spatially.In order to improve the harvesting of electricity and high-temperature thermal nanofluid,it is important to design an optimal optical filter window(transmit sunlight with wavelengths of 732-1067 nm to the surface of the photovoltaic cell and absorb the remaining sunlight).However,designing optimal optical filter is facing following challenges:(1) inherently narrow selective absorptivity property of single nanoparticle;(2) simplified numerical calculation method calculating transmittance;(3) ignoring the shape of the nanoparticle.In this study,the idea of using multiple nanoparticles coupling effect to design an optical filter is proposed,which can superimpose the narrow absorption bandwidth of different nanoparticles to obtain a wide absorption bandwidth of the whole system.In addition,an improved transmission method considering light-matter interaction at air/vessel and liquid/vessel interfaces is adopted to compute the transmittance.The results calculated by improved transmission method are more accurate than widely used traditional Lambert-Beer law,which is verified by experimental test.Furthermore,the effect of nanoparticle shape on spectral transmittance is also investigated,which shows that spiny Ag can approximately extend absorbance from 400 nm to 600 nm compared to nanosphere silver.Finally,the results show that optical filter efficiency of nanofluids with multiple nanoparticles coupling(Ag,spiny Ag,ZnO,ITO) can reached up to 35%.

Electromagnetic characteristic analysis and design of a linear motor used for ultra-high-speed EMS maglev train

The operating speed of the commercial electromagnetic suspension(EMS) maglev train has been over 430 km/h, making it the fastest means of land transportation. With the increasing demands of people traveling, it is necessary to further improve the operating speed of maglev trains. Aiming to examine whether the existing EMS system can meet the requirements of ultra-highspeed operation(more than 600 km/h), the electromagnetic characteristics of an EMS linear motor under the operating speed of 600–1000 km/h fed by a square-wave voltage supply is investigated in this article. First, an electromagnetic field model of the EMS system under the square-wave voltage supply is established to investigate its electromagnetic performance, e.g., the characteristics of phase current, the magnetic flux density, and the electromagnetic force. Second, the relationship between the harmonic components of the air-gap magnetic flux density and electromagnetic force is investigated using the two-dimensional fast Fourier transform(2D-FFT) to reveal the mechanism of electromagnetic force ripple. Third, to address the issues of excessive armature current density and significant electromagnetic force ripple, the linear motor is re-designed by enlarging the stator slot area and reshaping the mover's main magnetic poles. Furthermore, the Taguchi method is used to further improve the electromagnetic characteristics of the linear electric motor. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed optimal design is validated by the finite-element analysis(FEA) based co-simulation.

A Hybrid Level Set Optimization Design Method of Functionally Graded Cellular Structures Considering Connectivity

With the continuous advancement in topology optimization and additive manufacturing(AM)technology,the capability to fabricate functionally graded materials and intricate cellular structures with spatially varying microstructures has grown significantly.However,a critical challenge is encountered in the design of these structures–the absence of robust interface connections between adjacent microstructures,potentially resulting in diminished efficiency or macroscopic failure.A Hybrid Level Set Method(HLSM)is proposed,specifically designed to enhance connectivity among non-uniform microstructures,contributing to the design of functionally graded cellular structures.The HLSM introduces a pioneering algorithm for effectively blending heterogeneous microstructure interfaces.Initially,an interpolation algorithm is presented to construct transition microstructures seamlessly connected on both sides.Subsequently,the algorithm enables the morphing of non-uniform unit cells to seamlessly adapt to interconnected adjacent microstructures.The method,seamlessly integrated into a multi-scale topology optimization framework using the level set method,exhibits its efficacy through numerical examples,showcasing its prowess in optimizing 2D and 3D functionally graded materials(FGM)and multi-scale topology optimization.In essence,the pressing issue of interface connections in complex structure design is not only addressed but also a robust methodology is introduced,substantiated by numerical evidence,advancing optimization capabilities in the realm of functionally graded materials and cellular structures.

A benchmark-based method for evaluating hyperparameter optimization techniques of neural networks for surface water quality prediction

Neural networks(NNs)have been used extensively in surface water prediction tasks due to computing algorithm improvements and data accumulation.An essential step in developing an NN is the hyperparameter selection.In practice,it is common to manually determine hyperparameters in the studies of NNs in water resources tasks.This may result in considerable randomness and require significant computation time;therefore,hyperparameter optimization(HPO)is essential.This study adopted five representatives of the HPO techniques in the surface water quality prediction tasks,including the grid sampling(GS),random search(RS),genetic algorithm(GA),Bayesian optimization(BO)based on the Gaussian process(GP),and the tree Parzen estimator(TPE).For the evaluation of these techniques,this study proposed a method:first,the optimal hyperparameter value sets achieved by GS were regarded as the benchmark;then,the other HPO techniques were evaluated and compared with the benchmark in convergence,optimization orientation,and consistency of the optimized values.The results indicated that the TPE-based BO algorithm was recommended because it yielded stable convergence,reasonable optimization orientation,and the highest consistency rates with the benchmark values.The optimization consistency rates via TPE for the hyperparameters hidden layers,hidden dimension,learning rate,and batch size were 86.7%,73.3%,73.3%,and 80.0%,respectively.Unlike the evaluation of HPO techniques directly based on the prediction performance of the optimized NN in a single HPO test,the proposed benchmark-based HPO evaluation approach is feasible and robust.

Esophageal cancer ranks among the most prevalent malignant tumors globally,primarily due to its highly aggressive nature and poor survival rates.According to the 2020 global cancer statistics,there were approximately 604000 new cases of esophageal cancer,resulting in 544000 deaths.The 5-year survival rate hovers around a mere 15%-25%.Notably,distinct variations exist in the risk factors associated with the two primary histological types,influencing their worldwide incidence and distribution.Squamous cell carcinoma displays a high incidence in specific regions,such as certain areas in China,where it meets the cost-effect-iveness criteria for widespread endoscopy-based early diagnosis within the local population.Conversely,adenocarcinoma(EAC)represents the most common histological subtype of esophageal cancer in Europe and the United States.The role of early diagnosis in cases of EAC originating from Barrett's esophagus(BE)remains a subject of controversy.The effectiveness of early detection for EAC,particularly those arising from BE,continues to be a debated topic.The variations in how early-stage esophageal carcinoma is treated in different regions are largely due to the differing rates of early-stage cancer diagnoses.In areas with higher incidences,such as China and Japan,early diagnosis is more common,which has led to the advancement of endoscopic methods as definitive treatments.These techniques have demonstrated remarkable efficacy with minimal complications while preserving esophageal functionality.Early screening,prompt diagnosis,and timely treatment are key strategies that can significantly lower both the occurrence and death rates associated with esophageal cancer.

Energy-saving and environmentally friendly photocatalysis has emerged as a popular research area in response to issues with energy scarcity and environmental degradation.Due to the unique layer-like structure,BiOX（Cl,Br,I） is frequently used in photocatalysis.However,inherent flaws in BiOX,such as an inappropriate band gap and low carrier separation efficiency,restrict its capacity for photocatalysis.Owing to the tunable grouping layer,alloying engineering is employed to optimize the intrinsic properties of BiOX and alloyed BiOX becomes a promising photocatalytic material.This review describes the structure of BiOX,where tunable halogen layers provide favorable conditions for the implementation of alloying engineering to improve intrinsic properties.The article compares the effects and mechanisms of alloying engineering on the optimization of the energy band structure and carrier behavior of BiOX,and lists various modification methods used to improve the optimization of the intrinsic properties by alloying engineering,including defect engineering,morphology control as well as the synergy between alloying and other modification methods（bismuth-rich strategies,cation doping,construction of heterojunctions and plasma resonance effects）.Subsequently,applications of alloyed BiOX in energy and environmental fields are summarized,including contaminant degradation,antibacterial,CO2reduction,nitrogen fixation and organic synthesis.Finally,we summarize the current challenges and future directions of alloyed BiOX.It is expected that this work will provide guidance and assistance for an in-depth study and understanding of the mechanisms of alloying engineering to optimize intrinsic properties and design alloyed BiOX with higher photocatalytic activity.

Clinical Analysis and Mental Health Survey of Hemophilia Carriers:a Cross-sectional Study

Objective:Hemophilia carriers(HCs),who are heterozygous for mutations in the clotting factor VIII/clotting factor IX gene(F8 or F9),may have a wide range of clotting factor levels,from very low,similar to afflicted males,to the upper limit of normal,and may experience mental health issues.The purpose of this study was to provide genetic information on mothers of hemophilia patients and to understand the clotting factor activity and phenotype of HCs.Additionally,we aimed to investigate the mental health status of HCs in China.Methods:A total of 127 hemophilia mothers,including 93 hemophilia A(HA)mothers and 34 hemophilia B(HB)mothers,were enrolled in this study.Long distance PCR,multiplex PCR,and Sanger sequencing were used to analyze mutations in F8 or F9.Coagulation factor activity was detected by a one-stage clotting assay.The Symptom Checklist 90(SCL-90,China/Mandarin version)was given to HCs at the same time to assess their mental health.Results:A total of 90.6%of hemophilia mothers were diagnosed genetically as carriers,with inversion in intron 22 and missense mutations being the most common mutation types in HA and HB carriers,respectively.The median clotting factor level in carriers was 0.74 IU/mL(ranging from 0.09 to 1.74 IU/mL)compared with 1.49 IU/mL(ranging from 0.93 to 1.89 IU/mL)in noncarriers,of which 14.3%of HCs had clotting factor levels of 0.40 IU/mL or below.A total of 53.8%(7/13)of HA carriers with low clotting factor levels(less than 0.50 IU/mL)had a history of bleeding,while none of the HB carriers displayed a bleeding phenotype.The total mean score and the global severity index of the SCL-90 for surveyed HCs were 171.00(±60.37)and 1.78(±0.59),respectively.A total of 67.7%of the respondents had psychological symptoms,with obsessive-compulsive disorder being the most prevalent and severe.The pooled estimates of all nine factors were significantly higher than those in the general population(P<0.05).Conclusions:The detection rate of gene mutations in hemophilia mothers was 90.6%,with a median cl

Sepsis one-hour bundle management combined with psychological intervention on negative emotion and sleep quality in patients with sepsis

BACKGROUND Sepsis is a serious infectious disease caused by various systemic inflammatory responses and is ultimately life-threatening.Patients usually experience depression and anxiety,which affect their sleep quality and post-traumatic growth levels.AIM To investigate the effects of sepsis,a one-hour bundle(H1B)management was combined with psychological intervention in patients with sepsis.METHODS This retrospective analysis included 300 patients with sepsis who were admitted to Henan Provincial People’s Hospital between June 2022 and June 2023.According to different intervention methods,the participants were divided into a simple group(SG,n=150)and combined group(CG,n=150).H1B management was used in the SG and H1B management combined with psychological intervention was used in the CG.The changes of negative emotion,sleep quality and post-traumatic growth and prognosis were compared between the two groups before(T0)and after(T1)intervention.RESULTS After intervention(T1),the scores of the Hamilton Anxiety scale and Hamilton Depression scale in the CG were significantly lower than those in the SG(P<0.001).Sleep time,sleep quality,sleep efficiency,daytime dysfunction,sleep disturbance dimension score,and the total score in the CG were significantly lower than those in the SG(P<0.001).The appreciation of life,mental changes,relationship with others,personal strength dimension score,and total score of the CG were significantly higher than those of the SG(P<0.001).The scores for mental health,general health status,physiological function,emotional function,physical pain,social function,energy,and physiological function in the CG were significantly higher than those in the SG(P<0.001).The mechanical ventilation time,intensive care unit stay time,and 28-d mortality of the CG were significantly lower than those of the SG(P<0.05).CONCLUSION H1B management combined with psychological intervention can effectively alleviate the negative emotions of patients with sepsis and increase their quality of sleep and life.

Tactics to optimize conversion-type metal fluoride/sulfide/oxide cathodes toward advanced lithium metal batteries

Considering limited energy density of current lithium metal batteries(LMBs)due to low capacity of traditional intercalation-type cathodes,alternative high-energy cathodes are eagerly demanded.In this regard,conversion-type metal fluoride/sulfide/oxide cathodes have emerged great attention owing to their high theoretical specific capacities,supplying outstanding energy density for advanced LMBs.However,their low ionic/electrical conductivities,huge volume changes,sluggish reaction kinetics,and severe side reactions result in quick capacity fading and poor rate capability of LMBs.Recent research efforts on the conversiontype cathodes have brought new insights,as well as effective approaches toward realizing their excellent electrochemical performances.Here,the recent discoveries,challenges,and optimizing strategies including morphology regulation,phase structure engineering,surface coating,heterostructure construction,binder functionalization,and electrolyte design,are reviewed in detail.Finally,perspectives on the conversion-type metal fluoride/sulfide/oxide cathodes in LMBs are provided.It is believed that the conversion-type cathodes hold a promising future for the next-generation LMBs with high energy density.

The Research on Open Sharing of Higher Education Park Based on Intelligent Security System

The intelligent security system is a series of systems that use modern information technology means such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, face recognition to carry out comprehensive monitoring, early warning, prevention and control, disposal, etc, for security protection. It is the development trend of security system in the future, and it is also the basis for open sharing between higher education parks and universities. By using content analysis, unstructured interviews and other research methods, this paper deeply studies the feasibility and basic ideas of the construction of intelligent security system in Shahe Higher Education Park, and forms basic experience and typical practices through the project construction, which further promotes the more intelligent, standardized and scientific safety management in colleges and universities. It really provides an important theoretical basis and practical guidance for the opening and sharing between higher education parks and universities.
