检验了延迟的密度依赖对橙腹田鼠 (Microtusochrogaster)一个波动种群的生存和生殖的影响 ,研究持续了 63个月 ,取样间隔为 3 5天。在研究期间 ,该种群的密度经历了 4次波动 ,每次波动的高峰都在 11月至次年 1月 ,种群数量在冬季下降。生存和生殖都有负面的密度依赖效应 ,最大效应具有 2个月的时滞。种群存活率增长对种群密度最大的正面效应具有 2个月的时滞 ,而对与增加生殖则有 3个月的时滞。内部因素和冬季都可能推延对生殖的密度依赖效应 ,但是本文未能检验这些内部因素的影响。季节性影响看来与对生存的延缓性密度依赖效应无关。负面的延缓性密度依赖效应对生存和生殖的净作用可能在于减少。

A Collaborative Service to the Community: A COVID Vaccine Clinic Provided by a Mid-State University

The opportunity to offer immediate service to a local community in need of an additional COVID Vaccine Clinic was welcomed by the School of Nursing (SON) at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). This opportunity not only opened a door by providing a much-needed community service but also afforded students an enriching opportunity to enhance their clinical skills in a venue not always recognized as an available or accessible resource. A COVID Vaccine Clinic was planned in collaboration with the School of Nursing, University Health Services, and the County Health department to provide COVID vaccines to the Middle Tennessee area. A multidisciplinary committee met weekly to organize the COVID Vaccine Clinic opening this opportunity to the community two days per week. During the initial COVID Vaccine Clinic planning committee meetings, a variety of roles and responsibilities were identified to ensure the clinic would be planned, coordinated, and organized as efficiently as possible. When the clinic opened, weekly meetings continued to identify issues such as supply distribution problems, procedures related to various aspects of care, and debriefings describing the activities of each clinic day to note any areas in need of improvements. The School of Nursing lobby, located on the MTSU campus, was the designated area chosen for the clinic. Many faculty and students along with numerous campus volunteers worked together enabling thousands of members of the community to receive vaccinations. The interdisciplinary experience was a success and served to bring positive learning outcomes to all members of the faculty and students involved.

Water Consumption Pattern among Young Adults in a Higher Institution in Mubi Adamawa State

Considering the injurious effects of hypohydration, a study on the water consumption pattern of young adult in a specified higher institution in Adamawa State was sought due to concerns on the low plain water consumption with the objectives of understanding the average daily consumption, as well as knowing contributors to total body fluid intake. A qualitative cross sectional sweep survey (CSSS) using simple random sampling (SRS) method was carried out, a pilot sturdy which achieved a cronback alpha of >0.7 reliability questionnaire was used to carry, while Conchrans formula was adopted to determine sample size N, which was 400. The result showed that majority of the respondents 176(44) were 21 years of age in their early adulthood, many, 187(46.75) used borehole water as their source of household water. Most of the respondents 272(69) agreed to drinking rain water. Some respondents 200(50) choose pure satchet water as their major source of drinking water, about half 200(50) of the respondents drink 1.5 L or less of water daily, while only 13(3.25) of the respondents drink 5 - 6 L/day of water, on the average. Most of the respondents 174(43.3) take orange as their most commonly consumed fruit, taking a maximum of 4 oranges per day, 160(40) of the respondents eat apple as their most commonly consumed fruit, with a maximum of one apple a day both applesle="font-family:Verdana;"> and oranges give 87% fluid of their total weight. 背景:自身免疫性血小板减少性紫癜是一种表现为血小板计数l的自身免疫性疾病。该疾病同时影响成人及儿童,不到20%的儿童患者可能转变为慢性。血小板生成素受体激动剂(thrombopoietin receptor agonists,TPO-RA)包括罗米司亭和艾曲波帕作为三线治疗药物,可以刺激正常血小板的生成。目的:分析罗米司亭和艾曲波帕治疗儿童慢性ITP的疗效及安全性方法:在PubMed,EMBASE和Cochrane对照试验登记中心检索文献,筛选所提取的记录,并且使用review manager 5.3版本提取分析数据结果:最终选取5个随机对照试验纳入分析,涉及到1～17岁的261名儿童患者。疗效及安全性分析表明整体效应除了在不良事件方面TPO-RA组大于安慰剂组,而在不良事件方面两者无差别。血小板增加RR:4.31;95%CI[2.45-7.58];P<0.00001);出血事件RR:0.62,95%CI:0.46-0.81,P=0.0007);需要使用抢救药品的病例数RR:0.48,95%CI:0.29-0.80,P=0.005);不良事件RR:1.04,95%CI:0.69--1.59,P=0.84)。结论:使用艾曲波帕治疗的疗效及安全性同罗米司亭相比并无显著差别。两种药物治疗儿童慢性ITP均有效

Growth and Yield Response of Soyabean (<i>Glycine max</i>Merr.) to Organic and Inorganic Fertilizer in Edo Rainforest of Nigeria

In tropical and subtropical areas, the importance of organic manure and inorganic fertilizer in increasing crop production for food security cannot be overemphasized. A field study was therefore conducted at the department of Crop Science, University of Benin Teaching and Research Farm, Benin City, Edo State during the 2012/2013 cropping seasons, to investigate the effects of poultry manure and inorganic NPK 15:15:15 fertilizer on the growth and yield of soya bean (Glycine max (l.) Merr). The experiment was laid out as a randomized complete block design (RCBD) in three replications with six treatments viz: 0, 200 kg/ha NPK 15:15:15, 10 t/ha poultry manure, 7 t/ha poultry manure + 60 kg/ha NPK 15:15:15, 5 t/ha poultry manure + 100 kg/ha NPK 15:15:15, 2.5 t/ha poultry manure + 150 kg/ha NPK 15:15:15. Parameters on vegetative and reproductive traits were taken on five randomly selected plants. Results showed that plant height, number of branches and number of leaves per plant were enhanced by organic and inorganic fertilizers. Similarly, combined application of organic and inorganic fertilizer increased the pod weight/plant compared to the sole application of organic and inorganic fertilizer. Application rate of 2.5 t/ha poultry manure + 150 kg/ha NPK 15:15:15 gave the highest grain yield of 7.367 t/ha followed by 5 t/ha poultry manure + 100 kg/ha NPK which gave (7.244 t/ha), application rate of 7 t/ha poultry manure + 60 kg/ha NPK gave (6.654 t/ha), while 10 t/ha poultry manure gave (3.889 t/ha) and this was followed by application rate of 200 kg/ha NPK 15:15:15 which gave (4.112 t/ha) and the control gave the lowest grain yield of (3.245 t/ha). The application of 2.5 t/ha poultry manure + 150 kg/ha NPK 15:15:15 is therefore suggested for the growth and yield of soyabean in Edo rainforest of Nigeria.

Evaluation of Glomerular Hyperfiltration and Albuminuria in Sickle Cell Disease Adolescents: Cross-Sectional Retrospective Study

Background: Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) renal abnormalities commence early in childhood. The glomerular abnormalities, glomerular hyperfiltration and albuminuria are the most prevalent. However, these SCD glomerulopathies have not been considered exclusively in the adolescent age group. Objective: To determine the prevalence of glomerular hyperfiltration and albuminuria as well as identify the determinants for glomerular hyperfiltration in adolescents with SCD. Patients and Methods: The electronic patient records of 153 adolescents with SCD aged 10 - logy Clinic at Evelina london Children’s Hospital, United Kingdom, were reviewed from the 10th to 23rd June 2019. Clinical information and laboratory parameters were obtained. The glomerular filtration rate was derived using the Bedside Schwartz’s method. Grouping of the adolescents was based on the presence and absence of glomerular hyperfiltration, which was defined as glomerular filtration rate > 140 ml/min/m2. The presence of albuminuria was defined as urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio > 3 mg/mmol or protein-to-creatinine ratio of >15 mg/mmol. The clinical and laboratory determinants of glomerular hyperfiltration in the total study population were investigated. Result: Prevalence of glomerular hyperfiltration was 33.3% in the adolescents studied, and that of albuminuria was 15.7% amongst the SCD adolescents studied, of which 13.7% of those with glomerular hyperfiltration also had albuminuria. On univariable analysis, the SCD adolescents with glomerular hyperfiltration had significantly lower weight (48.0 ± 18.0 versus 54.8 ± 17.0 kg;p = 0.02), height (155.1 ± 13.1 versus 160.6 ± 13.1 cm;p = 0.01), body mass index (19.4 ± 5.0 versus 21.0 ± 4.3;p = 0.04), haemoglobin level (88.7 ± 13.3 versus 98.1 ± 21.7 g/l;p = 0.001), and serum creatinine level (0.4 ± 0.1 versus 0.6 ± 0.2 mg/dl;p = 0.0001) as compared to tho
