Repair tolerance assessment for aircraft composite structures using Bayesian updating

The li-Mg-B-H composite(2liBH_(4)+MgH_(2))has a high capacity of 11.4 wt%as a hydrogen storage ***,the slow kinetics and poor cycling stability severely restrict its practical *** this work,a layered Nb_(2)C MXene was first synthesized and then introduced to tailor the kinetics and cycling stability of the li-Mg-B-H *** milled 2liH+MgB_(2)composites were initially hydrogenated to obtain the 2liBH_(4)+MgH_(2)*** 2liBH_(4)+MgH_(2)+5wt%Nb_(2)C can release 9.0 wt%H_(2)in 30 min at 400℃,while it is only 2.7 wt%for the undoped 2liBH_(4)+MgH_(2).The dehydrogenation activation energies of MgH_(2)and liBH_(4)are 123 and 154 kJ·mol^(-1)respectively for the 5 wt%Nb_(2)C-doped composite,lower than the undoped composite(164 and 165 kJ·mol^(-1)).The 2liBH_(4)+MgH_(2)+5 wt%Nb_(2)C possesses excellent cycling stability,with the reversible capacity only slightly reduced from 9.4 wt%for the 1st cycle to 9.3 wt%for the 20th ***_(2)C keeps stable in the composite and acts as an efficient catalyst for the li-Mg-B-H *** is believed that both the layered structure and the active Nb element contribu te to the enhanced hydrogen storage performances of the li-Mg-B-H *** work confirms that the Nb_(2)C MXene with layered stru cture has a significant enhancing impact on the li-Mg-B-H hydrogen storage materials,which is different from the bulk NbC.

Dual-salt poly(tetrahydrofuran) electrolyte enables quasi-solid-state lithium metal batteries to operate at -30 ℃

The stable operation of solid-state lithium metal batteries at low temperatures is plagued by severe restrictions from inferior electrolyte-electrode interface compatibility and increased energy barrier for li^(+)***,we prepare a dual-salt poly(tetrahydrofuran)-based electrolyte consisting of lithium hexafluorophosphate and lithium difluoro(oxalato)borate(liDFOB).The li-salt anions(DFOB−)not only accelerate the ring-opening polymerization of tetrahydrofuran,but also promote the formation of highly ion-conductive and sustainable interphases on li metal anodes without sacrificing the li^(+)conductivity of electrolytes,which is favorable for li^(+)transport kinetics at low *** of this polymer electrolyte in li||liFePO_(4)cells show 82.3%capacity retention over 1000 cycles at 30℃and endow stable discharge capacity at−30℃.Remarkably,the li||liFePO4 cells retain 52%of their room-temperature capacity at−20℃and 0.1 *** rational design of dual-salt polymer-based electrolytes may provide a new perspective for the stable operation of quasi-solid-state batteries at low temperatures.

Jurassic integrative stratigraphy,biotas,and paleogeographical evolution of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding areas

The Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau experienced a unique geological evolution during the Jurassic,driven by the termination of the Palaeotethys and the reduction of the *** Indian Plate separated from the northern margin of Gondwana and drifted northward from the Southern *** that the timing of strata serves as the basis for reconstructing geological history,the present work aimed to develop a new multiple stratigraphic and chronologic framework for the Jurassic strata of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau region via a synthesis of the material on lithostratigraphy,palaeontology,iso-radiometric dating,magnetostratigraphy,and other techniques with an emphasis on recent progress and *** new framework included the Jurassic System from the four major subdivisions of the plateau:the Baryan Har,Qiangtang,Lhasa-Gandise,and Southern Xizang(Himalaya).Ultimately,a more complete,refined biostratigraphic sequence was proposed,comprising the most common fossils in the plateau and those that are stratigraphically significant for the Jurassic stratigraphy,including ammonites,bivalves,brachiopods,foraminifera,radiolarians,and dinoflagellate cysts for the marine strata,and pollen and spores,and charophytes for the terrestrial *** biostratigraphic framework was correlated with the Jurassic international standard zonation of the Geological Time Scale 2020 via standard or representative species or genera of *** on this framework,we constructed a lateral correlation of the Jurassic strata between different basins of the *** palaeontologic correlation in the present work shows that the Lhasa-Gandise Block had a closer relationship with the Qiangtang Block than with the Southern Xizang Himalaya during the Jurassic ***,the Lhasa-Gandise Block and Qiangtang Block shared similar marine fauna features of the north marginal East *** contrasts the opinion suggesting that the Yarlung Zangbo Tethys was a small back-arc basin.A c

Quantum self-attention neural networks for text classification

An emerging direction of quantum computing is to establish meaningful quantum applications in various fields of artificial intelligence, including natural language processing(NLP). Although some efforts based on syntactic analysis have opened the door to research in quantum NLP(QNLP), limitations such as heavy syntactic preprocessing and syntax-dependent network architecture make them impracticable on larger and real-world data sets. In this paper, we propose a new simple network architecture, called the quantum selfattention neural network(QSANN), which can compensate for these limitations. Specifically, we introduce the self-attention mechanism into quantum neural networks and then utilize a Gaussian projected quantum self-attention serving as a sensible quantum version of self-attention. As a result, QSANN is effective and scalable on larger data sets and has the desirable property of being implementable on near-term quantum devices. In particular, our QSANN outperforms the best existing QNLP model based on syntactic analysis as well as a simple classical self-attention neural network in numerical experiments of text classification tasks on public data sets. We further show that our method exhibits robustness to low-level quantum noises and showcases resilience to quantum neural network architectures.

Simulation study on cuttings transport of the backreaming operation for long horizontal section wells

The backreaming operation plays a significant role in safe drilling for horizontal wellbores, while it may cause severe stuck pipe accidents. To lower the risk of the stuck pipe in backreaming operations, the mechanism of cuttings transport needs to be carefully investigated. In this research, a transient cuttings transport with multiple flow patterns model is developed to predict the evolution of cuttings transported in the annulus while backreaming. The established model can provide predictions of the distribution of cuttings bed along the wellbore considering the bulldozer effect caused by large-size drilling tools(LSDTs). The sensitivity analyses of the size of LSDTs, and backreaming operating parameters are conducted in Section 4. And a new theory is proposed to explain the mechanism of cuttings transport in the backreaming operation, in which both the bit and LSDTs have the “cleaning effect” and “plugging effect”.The results demonstrate that the cuttings bed in annuli is in a state of dynamic equilibrium, but the overall trend and the distribution pattern are obvious. First, larger diameters and longer drilling tools could lead to a higher risk of the stuck pipe. Second, we find that it is not the case that the higher flow rate is always better for hole cleaning, so three flow-rate intervals are discussed separately under the given conditions. When the “dangerous flow rate”(litates borehole cleaning. If the flow rate is large enough to be in the “high flow rate” interval(>35 L/s in Case 4),the higher the flow rate, the better the cleaning effect of cuttings beds.
