Creeping fat and gut microbiota in Crohn’s disease

In this article,we explored the role of adipose tissue,especially mesenteric adipose tissue and creeping fat,and its association with the gut microbiota in the pathophysiology and progression of Crohn’s disease(CD).CD is a form of inflammatory bowel disease characterized by chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract,influenced by genetic predisposition,gut microbiota dysbiosis,and environmental *** microbiota plays a crucial role in modulating immune response and intestinal inflammation and is associated with the onset and progression of ***,visceral adipose tissue,particularly creeping fat,a mesenteric adipose tissue characterized by hypertrophy and fibrosis,has been implicated in CD pathogenesis,inflammation,and *** bacteria from the gut microbiota may translocate into mesenteric adipose tissue,contributing to the formation of creeping fat and influencing CD *** creeping fat may be a protective barrier against bacterial invasion,its expansion can damage adjacent tissues,leading to *** gut microbiota through interventions such as fecal microbiota transplantation,probiotics,and prebiotics has shown potential in managing ***,more research is needed to clarify the mechanisms linking gut dysbiosis,creeping fat,and CD progression and develop targeted therapies for microbiota modulation and fat-related complications in patients with CD.

The origin phenomenology of hypnosis took root in the evolutionally archaic reactions of defensive manner which we called as pra-hypnotic, and one of which is the reflex of the imaginary death. One of those reflexes is a quickly forming state of catalepsy after a sudden touch to the primitive organism. This type of passive defense and the imaginary death state were developing in accordance with the evolution of the nervous tube, the brain chord of its large cerebral hemispheres and the cortex, the structures which conditioned the existence of nervous activity, both lower and higher;of the physics, its conscious and subconscious activity, which allowed to use mechanisms of word suggestion and some other techniques in up-to-date traditional hypnotizing. Coming back to the origin of pra-hypnotic reactions, one may think that at the dawn of the evolution there sometimes was not too much of differentiation between the imaginary death and real death. The process, out of which then finally formed the phenomenon of death, was reversible. As a proof of it one can consider the archaic mechanism of the corpse rigidity as the last chance of the temporary conservation of the organism or its less differentiated structures.

Seedling potential of trees species along the elevational gradient in temperate hill forest of central Nepal

Regeneration status of tree species along elevation gradient in temperate hill forest was not understood *** research examined the tree diversity and its regeneration patterns along an elevation gradient in temperate hill forest,central *** were collected from 300 sample plots within vertical elevation bands of 10,ranging from 1365 to 2450 m asl.A random sampling method was used for data collection in three seasons,winter,pre-monsoon and post monsoon *** at breast height(DBH)was used to broadly categorize the plant individual into trees,saplings and *** tree species richness ranged from 12 to 25 with density of 350 to 1200 individuals per *** richness of tree and sapling showed statistically significant unimodal pattern,which peaked at *** showed a strong and positive linear correlation with the seedling density(Deviance=0.99,pseedling(10.6%)≤mature(10.9%).Among tested environmental variables,elevation and annual mean rainfall were the most influential factors in the regeneration of tree species.

Determinationofelasticmodulus of claystone:Nano-/micro-indentation andmeso-compression tests used to investigate impact of alkaline fluid propagation over 18 years

Micro-mechanical properties of a claystone were tested after undergoing alkaline perturbation on site(Tournemire,CD borehole)for 18 *** a saturated context and outside the excavation disturbed zone(EDZ),the claystone exhibits a 11.6-mm black rim at the cement/paste interface,which shows a different mechanical behaviour from the rest of the *** sets of measurements of elastic modulus were performed using:(i)nano-indentation tests with a constant indentation depth of 2 mm,(ii)microindentation tests with a constant indentation depth of 20 mm,and(iii)meso-compression tests with a constant displacement of 200 *** increase of the modulus of deformability in the black rim is between 15 GPa and 20 GPa according to the ***,an overall decrease of the modulus of deformability from the smallest to the largest scale is observed in each *** view of the mineralogy and petrographic observations,higher values of modulus of deformability in the black rim are related to carbonate content and its *** of cementitious carbonates as inclusions and very thin partings leads to hardening of the claystone.

Where Are We in the Economics of Industrial Policies?

Research on industrial policy has taken off,leading to a better understanding of when such policies effectively harness economic *** article reviews the recent literature on the economics of industrial *** recently,empirical studies on industrial policies came largely in one of two types:detailed country/region studies and cross-industry or cross-country econometric studies.I point out that the country/region studies had the usual problem that it was difficult to trace the effects of success to specific industrial policies,while the econometric studies suffered from the problem of misspecification.I show that a new generation of work has been moving us beyond the largely ideological debates of the past to a more contextual,pragmatic understanding.

What’s So Special about China’s Exports?

Much more than comparative advantage and free markets have been at play in shaping China＇s export success. Government policies have helped nurture domestic capabilities in consumer electronics and other advanced areas that would most likely not have developed in their absence. As a result, China has ended up with an export basket that is significantly more sophisticated than what would be normally expected for a country at its income level. This has been an important determinant of China ＇s rapid growth. What matters for China＇s future growth is not the volume of exports, but whether China will continue to latch on to higher-income products over time.

Post-Triassic thermal history of the Tazhong Uplift Zone in the Tarim Basin, Northwest China: Evidence from apatite fssion-track thermochronology

The Tarim Basin is a representative example of the basins developed in the northwest China that are characterized by multiple stages of heating and *** order to better understand its complex thermal history,apatite fission track （AFT） thermochronology was applied to borehole samples from the Tazhong Uplift Zone （TUZ）.Twelve sedimentary samples of Silurian to Triassic depositional ages were analyzed from depths coinciding with the apatite partial annealing zone （～60-120 ℃）.The AFT ages,ranging from 132 ± 7 Ma （from a Triassic sample） to 25 ± 2 Ma （from a Carboniferous sample）,are clearly younger than their depositional ages and demonstrate a total resetting of the AFT thermometer after *** AFT ages vary among different tectonic belts and decrease from the *** Faulted Zone （133-105 Ma） in the northwest,the Central Horst Zone in the middle （108-37 Ma）,to the East Buried Hill Zone in the south （51 25 Ma）.Given the low magnitude of post-Triassic burial heating evidenced by low vitrinite reflectance values （Ro ＜ 0.7％）,the total resetting of the AFT system is speculated to result from the hot fluid flow along the *** effects along the faults are well documented by younger AFT ages and unimodal single grain age distributions in the vicinity of the ***-early Triassic basaltic volcanism may be responsible for the early Triassic total annealing of those samples lacking connectivity with the *** above arguments are supported by thermal modeling results.

Premature Deindustrialisation in the Developing World

As developed economies have substituted away from manufacturing towards services, so too have developing countries--to an even greater extent. Such sectoral change may be premature for economies that never fully industrialised in the first place. This article presents evidence that countries with smaller manufacturing sectors substitute away from manufacturing to a larger extent, suggesting a trade channel through which falling international relative prices of manufacturing lead price-taking developing economies to substitute accordingly.

Transient fluid flow in the Binbei district of the Songliao Basin, China Evidence from apatite fission track thermochronology

The Songliao Basin is famous for the Daqing Oilfield, the biggest in China. However, no economic hydrocarbon reservoir has been found in the northeastern Binbei district. Its thermal history, which is of great importance for hydrocarbon generation and migration, is studied with apatite fission track （AFT） thermochronology. Samples with depositional ages of the late Cretaceous （-108-73 Ma） are analyzed. The AFT ages of the samples from reservoir rock （depositional age 〉 76.1 Ma） fall between the late Cretaceous （724-5 Ma） and the early Eocene （414-3 Ma） period, indicating their total annealing after deposition. In contrast, two samples from the main seals of the Qingshankou （depositional age 〉 89.3 Ma） and the Nenjiang Formation （depositional age 〉 73.0 Ma） are not annealed or partially annealed （AFT ages of 974-9 Ma and 704-4 Ma, respectively）. Because the maximum burial temperature （〈90 ℃） evidenced by low vitrinite reflectance （Ro〈0.7） is not high enough to account for the AFT total annealing （110-120 ℃）, the transient thermal effect arising from the syntectonic fluid flow between the late Cretaceous and the early Eocene is proposed. Transient thermal effects from fluid flow explains the indicated temperature discrepancies between the AFT thermometer and the Ro thermometer because the transient thermal effect from the fluid flow with a temperature high enough （110-120 ℃） to anneal the AFT thermometer does not last long enough （104-105 yrs.） for an enhancement of the Ro （minimum 106- 107 yrs. under the same temperature）. This indicates that dating thermal effect from fluid flow might be a new means to reconstruct the tectonic history. It also answers why the samples from the main seals are not annealed because the seals will prohibit fluid flow and supply good thermal insulation. The large-scale fluid flow in the Binbei district calls for a new idea to direct the hydrocarbon exploration.

Elastic modulus of claystone evaluated by nano-/micro-indentation tests and meso-compression tests

Toarcian claystone such as that of the Callovo-Oxfordian is a qualified multiphase material. The claystone samples tested in this study are composed of four main mineral phases: silicates(clay minerals, quartz,feldspars, micas)(z86%), sulphides(pyrite)(z3%), carbonates(calcite, dolomite)(z10%) and organic kerogen(z1%). Three sets of measurements of the modulus of deformability were compared as determined in(i) nanoindentation tests with a constant indentation depth of 2 mm,(ii) micro-indentation tests with a constant indentation depth of 20 mm, and(iii) meso-compression tests with a constant displacement of 200 mm. These three experimental methods have already been validated in earlier studies. The main objective of this study is to demonstrate the influence of the scaling effect on the modulus of deformability of the material. Different frequency distributions of the modulus of deformability were obtained at the different sample scales:(i) in nano-indentation tests, the distribution was spread between 15 GPa and 90 GPa and contained one peak at34 GPa and another at 51 GPa;(ii) in the micro-indentation tests, the distribution was spread between 25 GPa and 60 GPa and displayed peaks at 26 GPa and 37 GPa; and(iii) in the meso-compression tests, a narrow frequency distribution was obtained, ranging from 25 GPa to 50 GPa and with a maximum at around 35 GPa.
