We present the development of a tunable,narrow-bandwidth optical parametric oscillator(OPO) system and its applications in high resolution spectroscopy of free *** OPO system employs a bulk KTP crystal as the nonlinear optical material and a compact grazing-incidence-grating cavity as the *** second harmonic output of an injection-seeded nanosecond Nd:YAG laser with a spatially optimized beam profile is used to pump the OPO *** OPO cavity length is precisely controlled by monitoring both the beam position and the mode structure of the signal output,ensuring a stable single-longitudinal-mode operation of the system with a broad tuning *** output of the OPO covers a tunable wavelength of 660 to 2700 nm,with a typical pulse duration of ns,a FT-limited bandwidth 50 MHz,and a total pulsed energy of .5 mJ at a pump energy of 40 *** newly developed OPO system has been applied to the laser induced fluorescence study on high resolution electronic spectra of CuSH and YO in a supersonic jet *** frequency doubling of the signal output,fully resolved spectra of the CuSH B A’-X A’ and the YO d Σ-X Σ electronic transition bands has been recorded for the first time.

dissipation is often considered as a detrimental effect in quantum systems for unitary quantum ***,it has been shown that suitable dissipation can be useful resources in both quantum information and quantum ***,we propose and experimentally simulate a dissipative phase transition(dPT)model using a single trapped ion with an engineered *** show that the ion’s spatial oscillation mode reaches a steady state after the alternating application of unitary evolution under a quantum Rabi model Hamiltonian and sideband cooling of the *** average phonon number of the oscillation mode is used as the order parameter to provide evidence for the *** work highlights the suitability of trapped ions for simulating open quantum systems and shall facilitate further investigations of dPT with various dissipation terms.

Highly-efficient oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurtural(HMF) to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid(FdCA) at low temperature with air as the oxidant is still ***,inspired by the respirato ry electron transport chain(ETC) of living cells mediated by electron carriers,we constructed artificial ETCs and transformed liquid flow fuel cells(LFFCs) to flexible reactors for efficient oxidation of HMF to produce FdCA under mild *** LFFC reactor employed an electrodeposition modified nickel foam as an anode to promote HMF oxidation and(VO_(2))_(2)SO_(4) as a cathode electron carrier to facilitate the electron transfer to *** reaction rate could be easily controlled by selecting the anode catalyst,adjusting the external loading and changing the cathodic electron carrier or oxidants.A maximal power density of 44.9 mW cm^(-2) at room temperature was achieved,while for FdCA production,short-circuit condition was preferred to achieve quick transfer of *** a single batch operation with 0.1 M initial HMF,FdCA yield reached 97.1%.By fed-batch operation,FdCA concentration reached 144.5 g L^(-1) with a total yield of 96%.Ni^(2+)/Ni^(3+) redox couple was the active species mediating the electron transfer,while both experimental and dFT calculation results indicated that HMFCA pathway was the preferred reaction mechanism.
