The summer monsoon rainfall totals for 31 meteorological subdivisions of India for the years 1901-1980 are analysed. The analysis reveals that four leading eigenvectors (EVs) are significant and account for 65% of the total *** spatial pattern of the first EV exhibits in phase fluctuations over almost the whole India. The large coefficients of this vector can be considered as representative of the conditions of large-scale flood and drought over the country. The second pattern reveals the fluctuations mostly over the North Indian region (north of 20° latitude) probably in association with the Western disturbances. The third pattern indicates fluctuations over the North-West and the North-East India in opposite phase and the fourth pattern exhibits the characteristic features of fluctuations associated with 'break'. Cerium tartrate(CeTar),produced in this study by precipitating cerium nitrate with potassium sodium tartrate(KNaTar),was examined as a corrosion *** loss tests show inhibition efficiency of 71.7% with Ce(NO_(3))_(3) and 88.7% with CeTar inhibitor for one-month exposure to mild steel in 7 g/L NaCl *** inhibition efficiency drops to 28.6% with the fo rmer and remains around 8 7% with the latter inhibitor after six months of *** results from electrochemical testing indicate that the inhibition efficiency decreases by adding cerium ***,the cerium tartrate inhibitor demonstrates a nearly constant inhibition efficiency for up to 30 d,i.e.,≈90%.Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) performed in these cases shows the following results:(ⅰ) with cerium nitrate,a film of iron and cerium oxide,which on prolonged exposure diminishes,and(ⅱ) with cerium tartrate,the formation of a bimetallic film(Fe-tartrate-Ce) and a mixture of cerium hydroxide and iro n oxide that protects steel for a longer *** inferences are based on the analyses of scanning electron microscopy/energydispersive X-ray analysis(SEM/EdAX),X-ray diffraction(XRd),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),X-ray photoelectron(XPS),and Raman spectroscopy results.

Cobalt(Co)-modified brownmillerite KBiFe_(2)O_(5)(KBFO;[KBiFe_(2(1−x))Co_(2x)O_(5)(x=0,0.05)])polycrystalline is synthesized following the solid-state reaction *** refinement of X-ray diffraction data confirmed the phase purity of KBFO and KBiFe_(1.9)Co_(0.1)O_(5)(KBFCO).The optical bandgap energy(Eg)of KBFO decreased from 1.59 to 1.51 eV because of Co *** decrease in bandgap can be attributed to the tilting of the Fe–O tetrahedral structure of *** observed room-temperature Raman peaks of KBFCO shifted by 3 cm^(−1) toward a lower wavenumber than that of *** shift in Raman active modes can be attributed to the change in the bond angles and bond lengths of the Fe–O tetrahedral structure and modification in response to oxygen deficiency in KBFO because of Co *** with that of KBFO,the frequency-dependent dielectric constant and dielectric loss of KBFCO decrease at room temperature,which is a consequence of the reduction in oxygen migration and modification in response to vibrational modes present in the sample.

Parkinson's disease(Pd) is one of the most debilitating brain diseases. despite the availability of symptomatic treatments, response towards the health of Pd patients remains scarce. To fulfil the medical needs of the Pd patients, an efficacious and etiological treatment is required. In this review, we have compiled the information covering limitations of current therapeutic options in Pd, novel drug targets for Pd, and finally, the role of some critical beneficial natural products to control the progression of Pd.

The present study was aimed to model the hydration characteristics of green chickpea(GC)using mathematical modelling and examine predictive ability of artificial neural network(ANN)*** of GC was performed at different temperatures 25,35,45,55 and 65℃.different mathematical models were tested for the hydration at different *** ANN modelling,the hydration time and hydration temperature were used as input variables and moisture ratio,moisture content and hydration ratio were taken as output *** model best described the hydration behavior at 25℃;while hydration at high-temperature was better described by Page model and Ibarz et *** optimum temperature obtained for hydration was 35℃.Effective mass diffusion coefficient(d_(e))increased from 1.5510^(-11)-1.7910^(-9) m^(2)/s with the increase in the hydration *** low activation energy(39.66 kJ/moL)shows the low-temperature sensitiveness of *** temperature hydration(25℃)required higher time(>200 min)to achieve the equilibrium moisture content(EMC),however high temperature hydration(35–65℃)reduced the EMC time(150 min).ANN was used to predict the hydration behavior and K fold cross validation was performed to check the over fitting of ANN *** show that the LOGSIGMOId transfer function showed better performance when used at the hidden layer input node in conjunction to both PURELIN and *** was found suitable for moisture ratio(MR)and hydration ratio(HR)prediction,as opposed to PURELIN for moisture content(MC)*** model prediction was obtained when the number of neurons in the hidden layer for MC,MR and HR was 12,8 and 15,*** and ANN modelling results are useful to improve/predict the MC,MR and HR during hydration process of GC at different temperature and other similar process.

Most of the materials used in engineered cementitious composite are fine in size to achieve ductile *** slurry powder(SSP)is an inert material obtained from stone industries as by-product which may cause hazardous impact on *** this research work,partial replacement of silica sand(SS)and fine sand(FS)by SSP with different contents(25%and 50%each)for making engineered cementitious composite has been *** performance was evaluated on the basis of strength,tensile strain,mid span deflection capacity,ultra-sonic pulse velocity and *** strength was found to be increased at 25%SSP in both replacements;whereas,strength decreased slightly at 50%*** strain,mid span deflection and quality of concrete were enhanced with increase in SSP *** SSP formed denser cementitious composite can help to save the natural resources and contribute in making green cementitious composite.

The effects of environmental parameters on insect development have been studied extensively. But the reasons for 2 differential developmental rates within same cohort under varying environmental factors have not been explored. For the purpose, in this study the existence and stability of slow and fast development under 5 photoperiods （i.e., 8L： 16d, 10L ： 14d, 12L ： 12d, 14L ： 10d and 16L ： 8d; light and dark hours per day） and its effect on body mass and reproductive attributes in 2 aphidophagous ladybirds, Menochilus sexmaculatus （Fabricius） and Propylea dissecta （Mulsant） was examined on Aphis craccivora Koch at 27 4- 1 ~C temperature. A clear bimodal （2 peaks, where the first peak represented the fast developing and the 2nd peak slow developing individuals） pattern of distribution at each photoperiod was found. The proportion of slow and fast developing individuals in a cohort differed with photoperiods. The slow developing individuals were more in numbers at 8L ： 16d, in equal numbers at 14L ： 10d and in less numbers at 16L： 8d, indicating that the variation in emergence was owing to exogenous cues influenced differential rates of mortality. Slow developing individuals had female biased sex ratio, higher longevity and lower body mass than fast developing individuals. Fast developing females laid higher numbers of eggs with higher egg viability than slow developing females. Study of such variations in development at different photoperiods is helpful to understand its role in the development of insects particularly ladybirds and permits the selection of fast developing bioagents for their use in biocontrol of pest species.

Oxidative post-translational modifications of specific chloroplast proteins contribute to the initiation of retrograde *** Arabidopsis thaliana EXECUTER1(EX1)protein,a chloroplast-localized singlet oxygen(^(1)O_(2))sensor,undergoes tryptophan(Trp)643 oxidation by^(1)O_(2),a chloroplast-derived and light-dependent reactive oxygen *** indole side chain of Trp is vulnerable to^(1)O_(2),leading to the generation of oxidized Trp variants and priming EX1 for degradation by a membrane-bound FtsH *** perception of^(1)O_(2)via Trp643 oxidation and subsequent EX1 proteolysis facilitate chloroplast-to-nucleus retrograde *** this study,we discovered that the EX1-like protein EX2 also undergoes^(1)O_(2)-dependent Trp530 oxidation and FtsH-dependent turnover,which attenuates^(1)O_(2)signaling by decelerating EX1-Trp643 oxidation and subsequent EX1 *** with this finding,the loss of EX2 function reinforces EX1-dependent retrograde signaling by accelerating EX1-Trp643 oxidation and subsequent EX1 proteolysis,whereas overexpression of EX2 produces molecular phenotypes opposite to those observed in the loss-of-function mutants of ***,phylogenetic analysis suggests that EX2 may have emerged evolutionarily to attenuate the sensitivity of EX1 toward^(1)O_(2).Collectively,these results suggest that EX2 functions as a negative regulator of the EX1 signalosome through its own^(1)O_(2)-dependent oxidation,providing a new mechanistic insight into the regulation of EX1-mediated^(1)O_(2)signaling.
