Sofosbuvir is one of the new direct-acting antiviral drugs against hepatitis C virus(HCV) infection. This drug has recently been launched into the market, and generic versions of the medication are expected to be produced by local drug producers in some countries. Therefore, new methods are required to control sofosbuvir in pharmaceuticals. In the present study, a new method based on reversed phase(RP)-ultra-high performance liquid chromatography(UHPLC) coupled to diode array detection(dAd) and mass spectrometry(MS) was developed to facilitate the qualitative and quantitative analysis of sofosbuvir in film coated tablets. A wavelength of 260 nm was selected to perform a cost-effective quantification and the method showed adequate linearity,with an R^2 value of 0.9998, and acceptable values of accuracy(75%–102%) and precision(residual standard deviation detection and quantification limits were 0.07 μg/mL and 0.36 μg/mL, ***, the use of high-resolution MS enabled us to ensure the specificity, check impurities and better sensitivity. Therefore, this methodology promises to be suitable not only for the routine analysis of sofosbuvir in pharmaceutical dosage forms, but also for potential degradants.

The crystal structure of InSb [111] A/B surfaces shows that this structure is polarized. This means that the surfaces of InSb [111] A and InSb [1^-1^- 1^-] B contain two different crystallized directions and they have different physical and chemical properties. Experiments were carried out on the InSb [ 111 ] A/B surfaces, showing that tartaric acid etchant could create a very smooth surface on the InSb [1^-1^- 1^-] B without any traces of oxides and etch pit but simultaneously create etch pit on InSb [ 111 ] A surfaces. After lapping and polishing, some particles remained on the InSb [1^-1^- 1^-] B surface, they could not be removed easily by standard cleaning process and if these particles remain on the surface of the substrate, the growth layer was not uniform and some island-like regions were observed. The purpose of this work is to remove these particles on the lnSb [1^-1^- 1^-] B surface. Some morphology images of both surfaces, InSb [11 1] A/B, will be presented.

Objective: To investigate the effect of temperature and pressure on supercritical CO_2 extraction of Triognella foenum graecum Linn seeds, to determine the optimal condition which leads to highest percentage of the accumulative yield and revealing the chemical composition of supercritical CO_2 ***: Temperatures in the range of 40–60C and pressures in the range of 10–25 MPa were used. FTIR and GC–MS analysis were used to detect the bioactive compounds present in the extract. The broth dilution method and slope method were used to evaluate the anti-microbial and anti-tuberculosis activities and the in vitro anti-malarial assay was carried out according to the micro assay protocol of Rieckmann and his ***: The temperature was more affected than the pressure on the extraction performance and the highest yield of the extract(3.111%) was attained at 60C and 10 *** and GC–MS showed that the chemical composition of the extract included conjugated linoleic acid methyl ester as the major active principle(with concentration of72.28%), followed by saturated fatty acid methyl esters(16.03%), steroids(8.09%) and organic siloxane compound(3.61%). The extract showed moderate anti-bacterial activity with MIC values 100, 250, 125 mg/m L towards Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenus respectively. It exhibited high inhibition effect towards the fungi Candida albican with MFC value(250 mg/m L). The extract had low antituberculosis activity with MIC value(100 mg/m L) and comparable MIC value(0.29 mg/m L) towards Plasmodium ***: Supercritical CO_2 extraction as alternate and green technology is performed successfully to extract the bioactive compounds from the seeds of T. foenum graecum Linn and it is concluded that this extract can be used as an alternate source of synthetic anti-biotic drugs.

MicroRnAs （miRnAs） were discovered two decades ago, yet there is still a great need for further studies elucidating their genesis and targeting in different phyla. Since experimental discovery and validation of miRnAs is difficult, computational predictions are indispensable and today most computational approaches employ machine learning. Toxoplasma gondii, a parasite residing within the cells of its hosts like human, uses miRnAs for its post-transcriptional gene reg- ulation. It may also regulate its hosts＇ gene expression, which has been shown in brain cancer. Since previous studies have shown that overexpressed miRnAs within the host are causal for disease onset, we hypothesized that T. gondii could export miRnAs into its host cell. We computationally predicted all hairpins from the genome of T. gondii and used mouse and human models to filter possible candidates. These were then further compared to known miRnAs in human and rodents and their expression was examined for T. gondii grown in mouse and human hosts, respectively. We found that among the millions of potential hairpins in T. gondii, only a few thousand pass filtering using a human or mouse model and that even fewer of those are expressed. Since they are expressed and differentially expressed in rodents and human, we suggest that there is a chance that T. gondii may export miRnAs into its hosts for direct regulation.

digital maps of soil properties are now widely ***-users now can access several digital soil mapping(dSM)products of soil properties,produced using different models,calibration/training data,and covariates at various spatial scales from global to ***,there is an urgent need to provide easy-to-understand tools to communicate map uncertainty and help end-users assess the reliability of dSM products for use at local *** this study,we used a large amount of hand-feel soil texture(HFST)data to assess the performance of various published dSM products on the prediction of soil particle size distribution in Central *** tested four dSM products for soil texture prediction developed at various scales(global,continental,national,and regional)by comparing their predictions with approximately 3200 HFST observations realized on a 1:50000 soil survey conducted after release of these dSM *** used both visual comparisons and quantitative indicators to match the dSM predictions and HFST *** comparison between the low-cost HFST observations and dSM predictions clearly showed the applicability of various dSM products,with the prediction accuracy increasing from global to regional *** simple evaluation can determine which products can be used at the local scale and if more accurate dSM products are required.

Objective To determine the diagnostic yield of repeated screening for atrial fibrillation(AF)among geriatric *** A pragmatic prospective cohort study into applying opportunistic screening for AF with a handheld single lead ECG device(SLd)in a geriatric *** patients of 65 years old and older visiting the geriatric outpatient clinic were eligible for inclusion.A 12 lead ECG was performed,followed by measurements with the SLd during every visit to the geriatric outpatient clinic.A frailty index was based on the accumulation of deficits *** 478 patients were *** were excluded if they did not give informed consent(17 patients),had a pacemaker or implantable cardioverter defibrillator(20 patients),or had incomplete medical files(two patients).After exclusion,439 patients participated in this *** mean age was 78 years(range 65 to 100 years),54%were *** was known in 89 patients(20%),first detected on the baseline ECG in four patients(1%)and first detected with the SLd in 20 patients(5%)during follow up *** of the SLd was 90.0%,specificity 99.0%,negative predictive value 99.7%,and positive predictive value 73.5%.Most patients(82%)with AF were frail and 53%were severely *** Repeated screening in geriatric patients has a five times higher diagnostic yield than usual *** was easily combined with usual *** of the positive predictive value of 73.5%,it remains necessary to confirm AF with a 12 lead ECG or 24-h Holter monitoring.
