RFlP mapping and race specificity of bacterial blight resistance genes (QTls) in rice

By using a set of 315 recombinant inbred lines (RIls) from the cross lemont (japonica)×Teqing (indica) and a complete linkage map with 186 well distributed RFlP markers and 3 morphological markers, a major gene (Xa4) and 10 QTls and 9 pairs of epistasis loci conferring horizontal resistance to three strains of \%Xanthomonas oryza\% pv \%oryza (Xoo)\% were mapped. The Teqing allele at Xa4 on chromosome 11 acts as a dominant resistant gene against pathogen race CR4 and CX08, but as an additive QTl with a significantly (47%) reduced effect \{against the\} virulent strain, CR6. The major gene Xa4 exhibited stronger degree of race specificity. Most QTls showed consistent levels of resistance against all three \%Xoo\% strains. The results suggest that a high level durable resistance to \%Xoo\% may be achieved by cumulative effects of multiple QTl.

Comparative adsorption behaviors of Eu(Ⅲ) and Am(Ⅲ) on thorium phosphate diphosphate(TPd),i.e.,Th(PO)PO,have been studied using a batch approach and surface complexation model(SCM) in this *** results showed that Eu(Ⅲ) and Am(Ⅲ) adsorption increased to a large extent with the increase in TPd *** p H-dependence was observed in both Eu(Ⅲ) and Am(Ⅲ) adsorption processes,suggesting that inner-sphere complexes(ISCs) were possibly responsible for the adsorption of Eu(Ⅲ) and Am(Ⅲ).Meanwhile,the adsorption of Eu(Ⅲ) and Am(Ⅲ) decreased to a different extent with the increase in ion strength,which was possibly related to outer-sphere complexes and/or ion *** the presence of fulvic acid(FA),the adsorption of Eu(Ⅲ) and Am(Ⅲ) showed high enhancement mainly due to the ternary surface complexes of TPd-FA-Eu and *** SCM showed that one ion exchange(≡SAm/Eu) and two ISCs(≡(XO)Am/Eu NO and ≡(YO)Am/Eu NO) seemed more reasonable to quantitatively describe the adsorption edges of both Eu(Ⅲ) and Am(Ⅲ).Our findings obviously showed that Eu(Ⅲ) could be a good analogue to study actinide behaviors in practical ***,it should be kept in mind that there are still obvious differences between the characteristics of Eu(Ⅲ) and Am(Ⅲ) in some special cases,for instance,the complex ability with organic matter and adsorption affinity to a solid surface.

Nowadays,force sensors play an important role in industrial production,electronic information,medical health,and many other ***-dimensional material-based filed effect transistor(2d-FET)sensors are competitive with nano-level size,lower power consumption,and accurate ***,few of them has the capability of impulse detection which is a path function,expressing the cumulative effect of the force on the particle over a period of *** we fabricated the flexible polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA)gate dielectric MoS_(2)-FET for force and impulse sensor *** systematically investigated the responses of the sensor to constant force and varying forces,and achieved the conversion factors of the drain current signals(I_(ds))to the detected impulse(I).The applied force was detected and recorded by I_(ds)with a low power consumption of~30 *** sensitivity of the device can reach~8000%and the 4×1 sensor array is able to detect and locate the normal force applied on ***,there was almost no performance loss for the device as left in the air for two months.

Although many causes of Alzheimer’s disease(Ad)may exist,both the original amyloid cascade and tau hypotheses posit that abnormal misfolding and accumulation of amyloid-β(Aβ)and tau protein is the central event causing the ***,that conclusion could be only partly true,and there is conflicting evidence about the role of both proteins in Ad,being able to precede and influence one *** researchers argue that these proteins are mere executors rather than primary causes of ***,there have been continuing refinements of both hypotheses,with alternative explanations proposed.Aβand tau proteins may be independently involved in specific neurotoxic pathways;yet there may be other crucial processes going on in early ***,accumulating evidence suggests that Aβand tau act synergistically,rather than additively in disease onset(Jeremic et al.,2021,2023a).

The underlying physics of QCd phase transition in the early Universe remains largely unknown due to its strong-coupling nature during the quark-gluon plasma/hadron gas transition, yet a holographic model has been proposed to quantitatively fit the lattice QCd data while with its duration of the first-order phase transition(FoPT) left undetermined. At specific baryon chemical potential, the first-order QCd phase transition agrees with the observational constraint of baryon asymmetry. It, therefore, provides a scenario for phase transition gravitational waves(GWs) within the standard model of particle physics. If these background GWs could contribute dominantly to the recently claimed common-spectrum red noise from pulsar timing array(PTA) observations, the duration of this FoPT can be well constrained, and the associated primordial black holes are still allowed by current observations.

The utilization of iron coke provides a green pathway for low-carbon *** uncover the influence mechanism of iron ore on the behavior and kinetics of iron coke gasification,the effect of iron ore on the microstructure of iron coke was ***,a comparative study of the gasification reactions between iron coke and coke was conducted through non-isothermal thermogravimetric *** findings indicate that compared to coke,iron coke exhibits an augmentation in micropores and specific surface area,and the micropores further extend and *** provides more adsorption sites for CO_(2) molecules during the gasification process,resulting in a reduction in the initial gasification temperature of iron *** the heating rate in non-isothermal gasification can enhance the reactivity of iron *** metallic iron reduced from iron ore is embedded in the carbon matrix,reducing the orderliness of the carbon structure,which is primarily responsible for the heightened reactivity of the carbon *** kinetic study indicates that the random pore model can effectively represent the gasification process of iron coke due to its rich pore ***,as the proportion of iron ore increases,the activation energy for the carbon gasification gradually decreases,from 246.2 kJ/mol for coke to 192.5 kJ/mol for iron coke 15wt%.

Specialized pro-resolving lipid mediators including maresin 1 mediate resolution but the levels of these are reduced in Alzheimer's disease brain, suggesting that they constitute a novel target for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease to prevent/stop inflammation and combat disease pathology. Therefore, it is important to clarify whether they counteract the expression of genes and proteins induced by amyloid-β. With this objective, we analyzed the relevance of human monocyte–derived microglia for in vitro modeling of neuroinflammation and its resolution in the context of Alzheimer's disease and investigated the pro-resolving bioactivity of maresin 1 on amyloid-β42–induced Alzheimer's disease–like inflammation. Analysis of RNA-sequencing data and secreted proteins in supernatants from the monocyte-derived microglia showed that the monocyte-derived microglia resembled Alzheimer's disease–like neuroinflammation in human brain microglia after incubation with amyloid-β42. Maresin 1 restored homeostasis by down-regulating inflammatory pathway related gene expression induced by amyloid-β42 in monocyte-derived microglia, protection of maresin 1 against the effects of amyloid-β42 is mediated by a re-balancing of inflammatory transcriptional networks in which modulation of gene transcription in the nuclear factor-kappa B pathway plays a major part. We pinpointed molecular targets that are associated with both neuroinflammation in Alzheimer's disease and therapeutic targets by maresin 1. In conclusion, monocyte-derived microglia represent a relevant in vitro microglial model for studies on Alzheimer's disease-like inflammation and drug response for individual patients. Maresin 1 ameliorates amyloid-β42–induced changes in several genes of importance in Alzheimer's disease, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target for Alzheimer's disease.

Inflammatory bowel disease,particularly Crohn's disease(Cd),has been linked to modifications in mesenteric adipose tissue(MAT)and the phenomenon known as"creeping fat"(CrF).The presence of CrF is believed to serve as a predictor for early clinical recurrence following surgical intervention in patients with ***,the incorporation of the mesentery during ileocolic resection for Cd has been correlated with a decrease in surgical recurrence,indicating the significant role of MAT in the pathogenesis of *** numerous studies have indicated that dysbiosis of the gut microbiota is a critical factor in the development of Cd,the functional implications of translocated microbiota within the MAT of Cd patients remain *** manuscript commentary discusses a recent basic research conducted by Wu et *** their study,intestinal bacteria from individuals were transplanted into Cd model mice,revealing that fecal microbiota trans-plantation(FMT)from healthy donors alleviated Cd symptoms,whereas FMT from Cd patients exacerbated these ***,FMT was found to affect intestinal permeability,barrier function,and the levels of proinflammatory factors and ***,these findings suggest that targeting MAT and CrF may hold therapeutic potential for patients with ***,the study did not evaluate the composition of the intestinal microbiota of the donors or the subsequent alterations in the gut ***,the gut microbiota plays a crucial role in the histopathology of Cd,and thus,targeting MAT and CrF may represent a promising avenue for treatment in this patient population.
