The GTS-LHC ion source,designed and build by CEA Grenoble,was installed and commissioned at CERN in *** than the source has delivered oxygen and lead ion beams(O^(4+) and Pb^(27+) from the source,Pb^(54+) from the linac)for the commissioning of the Low Energy Ion Ring(LEIR).Results of this operation and attempts to improve the source performance and reliability,and the linac performance will be presented in this paper.

A new all permanent ECR (Electron Cyclotron Resonance) ion source LAPECR2 (Lanzhou All Permanent ECRIS No. 2) is now under developing in IMP. This source will be used to set up on the IMP 400 HV (High Voltage) platform. This HV platform aims to deliver high ion beams from low charge state to very high charge state, so the rigorous requirement to this ECRIS is obvious. To satisfy this requirement, the ion source is designed to be a very large one, which has very large volume plasma chamber, larger ECR length and mirror length, and very strong 3 -dimension magnetic field. The detail parameters, are shown in Table 1 listed *** outer dimension of the magnetic blocks is φ520 mm×510 mm, which turns out to be a very large one

The design of each component of the Multipurpose Superconducting ECR Ion Source(MS-ECRIS) has been completed and some items are *** magnets and the cryostat are under construction at ACCEL and the commissioning is scheduled for March *** mechanical have been optimized and their construction is under way;the microwave system is under refurbishment and the 65kV power supply is available and upgraded for afterglow *** and extraction system were adapted to the EIS testbench of GSI *** description of each part will be given in the paper along with a schedule of the forthcoming development and experiments.

A carbon-based 3d current collector with surface protection for Li metal anode

Lithium metal is considered the ideal anode material for Li-ion-based batteries because it exhibits the highest specific capacity and lowest redox potential for this type of cells. However, growth of Li dendrites, unstable solid electrolyte interphases, low Coulombic efficiencies, and safety hazards have significantly hindered the practical application of metallic Li anodes. Herein, we propose a three-dimensional （3d） carbon nanotube sponge （CNTS） as a Li deposition host. The high specific surface area of the CNTS enables homogenous charge distribution for Li nucleation and minimizes the effective current density to overcome dendrite growth. An additional conformal A1203 layer on the CNTS coated by atomic layer deposition （ALd） robustly protects the Li metal electrode/electrolyte interface due to the good chemical stability and high mechanical strength of the layer. The Li@ALd-CNTS electrode exhibits stable voltage profiles with a small overpotential ranging from 16 to 30 mV over 100 h of cycling at 1.0 mA·cm^-2. Moreover, the electrodes display a dendrite-free morphology after cycling and a Coulombic efficiency of 92.4% over 80 cycles at 1.0 mA·cm^-2 in an organic carbonate electrolyte, thus demonstrating electrochemical stability superior to that of planar current collectors. Our results provide an important strategy for the rational design of current collectors to obtain stable Li metal anodes.
