Retrieval of the Single Scattering Albedo of Asian dust Mixed with Pollutants Using Lidar Observations

The vertical distribution of single scattering albedos （SSAs） of Asian dust mixed with pollutants was derived using the multi-wavelength Raman lidar observation system at Gwangju （35.10°N,126.53°E）.Vertical profiles of both backscatter and extinction coefficients for dust and non-dust aerosols were extracted from a mixed Asian dust plume using the depolarization ratio from lidar *** profiles of backscatter and extinction coefficients of non-dust particles were input into an inversion algorithm to retrieve the SSAs of non-dust *** aerosol layers at different heights had different light-absorbing *** SSAs of non-dust particles at each height varied with aerosol type,which was either urban/industrial pollutants from China transported over long distances at high altitude,or regional/local pollutants from the Korean *** advantage of independent profiles of SSAs of non-dust particles,vertical profiles of SSAs of Asian dust mixed with pollutants were estimated for the first time,with a new approach suggested in this study using an empirical determination of the SSA of pure *** SSAs of the Asian dust-pollutants mixture within the planetary boundary layer （PBL） were in the range 0.88-0.91,while the values above the PBL were in the range 0.76-0.87,with a very low mean value of 0.76 ± *** total mixed dust plume SSAs in each aerosol layer were integrated over height for comparison with results from the Aerosol Robotics Network （AERONET） *** of SSA retrieved from lidar observations of 0.92 ± 0.01 were in good agreement with the results from AERONET measurements.

Correlation analysis-based image segmentation approach for automatic agriculture vehicle

It is important to segment image correctly to extract guidance information for automatic agriculture vehicle. If we can make the computer know where the crops are, we can extract the guidance line easily. Images were divided into some rec-tangle small windows, then a pair of 1-d arrays was constructed in each small windows. The correlation coefficients of every small window constructed the features to segment images. The results showed that correlation analysis is a potential approach for processing complex farmland for guidance system, and more correlation analysis methods must be researched.

Analysis of Feature Importance and Interpretation for Malware Classification

This study was conducted to enable prompt classification of malware,which was becoming increasingly *** do this,we analyzed the important features of malware and the relative importance of selected features according to a learning model to assess how those important features were ***,the analysis features were extracted using Cuckoo Sandbox,an open-source malware analysis tool,then the features were divided into five categories using the extracted *** 804 extracted features were reduced by 70%after selecting only the most suitable ones for malware classification using a learning model-based feature selection method called the recursive feature ***,these important features were *** level of contribution from each one was assessed by the Random Forest classifier *** results showed that System call features were mostly *** the end,it was possible to accurately identify the malware type using only 36 to 76 features for each of the four types of malware with the most analysis samples *** were the Trojan,Adware,downloader,and Backdoor malware.

Numerical characterization of heat transfer in closed-loop vertical ground heat exchanger

A series of numerical analyses has been performed on the characteristics of heat transfer in a closed-loop vertical ground heat exchanger(U-loop).A 2-d finite element analysis was conducted to evaluate the temperature distribution over the cross section of the U-loop system involving high-density polyethylene(hdPE) pipe/grout/soil to compare the sectional efficiency between the conventional U-loop and a new latticed hdPE pipe system,which is equipped with a thermally insulating lattice in order to reduce thermal interference between the inlet and outlet *** addition,a 3-d finite volume analysis(FLUENT) was adopted to simulate the operation of the closed-loop vertical ground heat exchanger with the consideration of the effect of a distance between the inlet and outlet pipes,grout's thermal properties,the effectiveness of the latticed hdPE pipe system,and the rate of circulation *** was observed that the thermal interference between the two strands of U-loop is of importance in enhancing efficiency of the ground heat ***,it is recommended to modify the configuration of the conventional U-loop system by equipping the thermally insulating lattice between the two pipe strands.

Measles outbreaks in the Kyeongin area of the Republic of Korea,2013-2014:A single-center experience in a country of measles elimination

Objective: To identify the source of infection and determine the clinical features and laboratory finding of measles infection,Methods: In 27 measles patients,except for 3 adult patients,the rest of 24 pediatric measles cases were analyzed with regard to age,sex,immunization status,transmission routes and molecular genotyping of measles virus,Eighteen measles patients who admitted in isolation ward were set apart to investigate clinical findings and its correlation with laboratory characteristics,Retrospective analysis of cases was conducted in this study,Results: Of the 24 pediatric patients,23(95.8%) had not received any measles-containing vaccine(MCV),Sixteen of the patients(66.7%) were aged hs,The suspicious index case of a girl aged 34 months was not vaccinated with MCV1 and got measles after a trip to Philippines,and molecular genotype was revealed as B3,Measles outbreaks in the community such as a restaurant were followed by this one imported case,According to analysis of 18 patients admitted in isolation ward,the median level of C-reactive protein(CRP) was 0.38 mg/d L and that of lactate dehydrogenase(Ldh) was 1 200 IU/L,All of the 18 patients had Ldh levels above the normal range,Age correlated with CRP(ρ = 0.528,P = 0.024) and Ldh(ρ = 0.501,P = 0.034),The duration of fever was correlated with the duration of fever before rash(ρ = 0.898,P he duration of hospitalization was correlated with CRP(ρ = 0.586,P = 0.011),The white blood cell counts were correlated with the levels of Ldh(ρ = 0.505,P = 0.033),aspartate aminotransferase(ρ = 0.507,P = 0.032),and alanine aminotransferase(ρ = 0.481,P = 0.043),Conclusions: Early weaning of maternally derived measles antibodies therefore vaccination of MCV1 at a young age from 9 months to 12 months should be considered in situations of early exposure,Furthermore there is a call for consideration of scheduling an earlier age for the first dose of MMR vaccine in Europe,It is necessary for Korea to investigat

Fragile histidine triad gene alterations are not essential for hepatocellular carcinoma development in South Korea

AIM: To establish the role of FhIT in the pathogenesis hepatocellular carcinoma (hCC). METhOdS: We examined genomic alterations, as well as, mRNA and protein expression patterns from the FhIT gene, in 48 surgically resected hepatocellular carcinoma (hCC) tissues. Additionally, p53 mutations were analyzed. RESULTS: Aberrant FhIT transcripts were detected in 11 of 48 surrounding non-tumor liver tissues and 27 of 48 hCC samples (22.9% vs 56.3%, P = 0.002). No point mutations were identified within the open reading frame region of FhIT. Loss of heterozygosity (LOh) of the FhIT locus was detected in 4 of 42 informative cases for d3S1300, and 3 of 29 informative cases for d3S1313. Reduced expression of FhIT protein (Fhit) was observed in 8 (16.7%) of 48 hCC samples, with complete loss of Fhit in only 1 case. There were no associations with abnormal transcripts, LOh, and Fhit expression. p53 mutations were identified in 9 of the 48 hCC cases. however, none of the cases displayed a G to T transversion at p53 codon 249. CONCLUSION: Aberrant FhIT transcripts were more common in hCC tissues as compared to non-cancerous liver tissues. however, Fhit expression was lost or reduced in a minor fraction of hCC tissues, while it was strongly expressed in non-cancerous liver ***, our study suggests that FhIT plays a role in relatively few hCC cases in South Korea.

The use of nanofillers with high surface area and extreme purity in polymer composite is an effective strategy to obtain high performance polymeric ***,the effect of nanofillers such as carbon nanotubes(CNT),titanium dioxide(TiO_(2)),and their hybrid on rubber-based composites was *** this study,rubber nanocomposites were fabricated by using room temperature vulcanized(RTV)silicone rubber matrix and nanofillers(***,TiO_(2),and CNT-TiO_(2))through solution casting ***,the purity and surface area of CNT(purity:>96%and BET surface area:300 m2/g)and TiO_(2)(purity:>98%and BET surface area:165 m2/g)were estimated by field emission scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive X-ray(FESEM-EdX)and adsorption *** mechanical properties of the rubber nanocomposites were enhanced by incorporating *** compressive modulus was 2.18 MPa for unfilled composites and increased to 6.8 MPa(CNT),3.95 MPa(CNT-TiO_(2)),and 2.44 MPa(TiO_(2))at 5 phr,***,the tensile strength was 0.54 MPa for unfilled composites and increased to 1.37 MPa(CNT),1.33 MPa(CNT-TiO_(2))and 0.61 MPa(TiO_(2))at 5 phr,***,the actuation displacement was improved with increasing input voltage and it was 2 mm for CNT,1.6 mm for CNT-TiO_(2) hybrid and 0.5 mm for TiO_(2) at 10 ***,a series of experiments show the potential application in piezoelectric actuation.

We recently described a new combinatorial strategy for modular catalyst development, one using self-assembly in the ligand scaffold-generating step to produce libraries of chiral self-assembled ligands. Metal-directed self-assembly of bifunctional subunits around a structural metal (typically zinc) can be used to form a heteroleptic complex in which a second set of ligating groups are suitably disposed to form a heterobimetallic catalyst system[1]. Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS) is a useful technique for accurate sorting of metal scrap by chemical composition *** this work,a method for intensity-ratiobased LIBS classification of stainless steel applicable to highly fluctuating LIBS signal conditions is *** spectral line pairs for intensity ratio calculation are selected according to elemental concentration and upper levels of emission *** is demonstrated that the classification accuracy can be significantly improved from that of full-spectra principal component analysis or intensity-based *** proposed method is considered to be suited to an industrial scrap sorting system that requires minimal maintenance and low system price.
