Based on the model of harmonic oscillators, a mathematical model for the heat radiation characteristics of materials such as semiconductors, metals, plasmas and ionic crystals is established in this paper. The main factors affecting the heat radiation characteristics of materials are also analyzed at length. The emissivity is calculated for revealing the mechanism of emitting, absorbing, transmitting and reflecting the heat radiation wave.

A pot experiment was conducted in a plastic film house to evaluate the translocation and uptake of heavy metals(Pb,Cd,Cu,and Zn) into brown rice(Oryza sativa L.) and the heavy metals residues in soils which had previously been irrigated with domestic wastewater for a long time(3 years).The range of Pb,Cd,Cu,and Zn was 5.10 ± 0.01,0.105 ± 0.017,5.76 ± 0.42,and 23.56 ± 1.40 mg kg-1,respectively in the domestic wastewater-irrigated soil,and 0.370 ± 0.006,0.011 ± 0.001,0.340 ± 0.04,and 2.05 ± 0.18 mg kg-1,respectively,in the domestic wastewater-irrigated brown *** results indicated that application of domestic wastewater to arable land slightly increased the levels of Pb,Cd,Cu,and Zn in soil and brown rice(P he concentrations of heavy metals in brown rice were lower than the recommended tolerable levels proposed by the Joint FAO/WhO Expert Committee on Food ***,the continuous monitoring and pollution control of hazardous materials from domestic wastewater are needed in order to prevent excessive build-up of heavy metals in the food chain.

Three different types of TiO2 nano powders were synthesized by a solution combustion synthesis （SCS） method using three different fuels and for comparison, another type of Ti2 nano powder was synthesized by calcination of titanyl hydroxide. These TiO2 nano powders were used to fabricate photoelectrodes for the dye-sensitized solar cell （dSSC） and their performance was compared to that of the dSSC fabricated with degussa P25 TiO2. The results showed that the SCS TiO2 could work well as photoelectrode for dSSC. The SCS TiO2 contained impurities of C and/or S, thus exhibiting visible light absorption and reduced band gap. The open circuit voltage and the fill factor both varied little among the various TiO2 and thus both had little effect on the photoelectrical conversion efficiency （η）. however, the variation of r/was seen to be in quite a good agreement with that of the short circuit current （Isc）, suggesting that r/was dominated by Isc. lsc was found to be enhanced by light scattering effect due to the presence of large particles but reduced by high impurity content due to an increase in electron transfer resistance. In addition, the specific surface area of the powders was found to be an important factor affecting the Isc and thus the η.

A novel soluble ladderlike polysilsesquioxane containing reactive ester groups (Ester-T) was synthesized for the first time by stepwise coupling polymerization including preammonolysis, controlled hydrolysis and polycondensation. The monomer, 3-trichlorosilylpropoxy 4-acetoxybenzoate (M), was synthesized by hydrosilylation of allyloxy 4-acetoxybenzoate with trichlorosilane in the presence of dicyclopentadienylplatinum (II) chloride (Cp2PtCl2) catalyst. Combination of FTIR, h-1-NMR, C-13-NMR, Si-29-NMR, XRd, dSC, TGA and VPO methods was used to demonstrate that the polymer obtained has an ordered ladderlike structure. The synthesized Ester-T may have promising applications as a precursor of advanced functional polymers.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a complex disorder that consists of upper airway obstruction, chronic intermittent hypoxia and sleep fragmentation. OSA is well known to be associated with hypoxia, insulin resistance and glucose intolerance, and these factors can occur in the presence or absence of obesity and metabolic syndrome. Although it is well established that insulin resistance, glucose intolerance and obesity occur frequently with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLd), it is now becoming apparent that hypoxia might also be important in the development of NAFLd, and it is recognized that there is increased risk of NAFLd with OSA. This review discusses the association between OSA, NAFLd and cardiovascular disease, and describes the potential role of hypoxia in the development of NAFLd with OSA.

The rate of microstructural coarsening of recrystallisation and partial melting (RAP) and cooling slope (CS) processed materials in the semi-solid state is compared with rates found in the *** rate of coarsening depended on the liquid fraction but RAP route 2014 alloy with 37% liquid coarsened slightly more slowly than the CS route 2014 alloy with a lower liquid fraction of 17%, contrary to *** the CS route, an increase in liquid fraction resulted in faster coarsening.A modified 2014 alloy with Fe, Mn and Zn stripped out of the composition gave a relatively high coarsening *** coarsening rate was also relatively high for CS 201 alloy in comparison with either RAP 2014 or CS *** coarsening rates are thought to be associated with the presence of particles which inhibit the migration of liquid film grain *** could be the result of pinning or of the liquid film impeding diffusion at the boundary.

Photo-induced Synthesis and Characterization of Poly(methyl methacrylate) Grafted Sodium Salt of Partially Carboxymethylated Guar Gum

Photo-induced graft copolymerization of methyl methacrylate（MMA） onto sodium salt of partially carboxymethylated guar gum（Na-PCMGG, dS = 0.291） was carried out in an aqueous medium using ceric ammonium nitrate（CAN） as photoinitiator to synthesize a novel graft copolymer, Na-PCMGG-g-PMMA, which may find its potential application as a metal adsorbent. The influences of synthesis variables such as concentrations of photoinitiator（CAN）, nitric acid and monomer（MMA） as well as reaction time, temperature and amount of substrate on the grafting yields were studied and the reaction conditions for optimum photo-grafting were evaluated. At optimum concentration, the maximum values of the grafting yields achieved were G = 271.61% and GE = 63.89%. The experimental results were found to be in very good agreement with the proposed kinetic scheme. The photo-graft copolymerization of MMA onto Na-PCMGG（ dS = 0.291） was also carried out in the presence and absence of ultraviolet radiation for studying the efficiency of the photoinitiator. The influence of carboxymethyl groups introduced onto the guar gum molecules with regard to its behavior towards ultra-violet radiation induced grafting with MMA was also investigated. Photo-grafting process was confirmed and the products were characterized with the help of the spectroscopic（1h-NMR and FTIR） and SEM techniques.
