The widespread availability of portable computing power and inexpensive digital cameras are opening up new possibilities for retailers in some markets. One example is in optical shops,where a number of systems exist that facilitate eyeglassess election. These systems are now more necessary as the market is saturated with an increasingly complex array of lenses,frames,coatings,tints,photochromic and polarizing treatments,etc. Research challenges encompass Computer Vision,Multimedia andHuman-Computer Interaction. Cost factors are also of importance for widespread product acceptance. This paper describes alow-cost system that allows the user to visualize different glasses models in live video. The user can also move the glasses toadjust its position on the face. The system,which runs at 9.5 frames/s on general-purpose hardware,has a homeostatic modulethat keeps image parameters controlled. This is achieved by using a camera with motorized zoom,iris,white balance,etc. Thisfeature can be specially useful in environments with changing illumination and shadows,like in an optical shop. The system alsoincludes a face and eye detection module and a glasses management module.

The present investigation studies the peristaltic flow of the Jeffrey fluid through a tube of finite length. The fluid is electrically conducting in the presence of an applied magnetic field. Analysis is carried out under the assumption of long wavelength and low Reynolds number approximations. Expressions of the pressure gradient, volume flow rate, average volume flow rate, and local wall shear stress are obtained. The effects of relaxation time, retardation time, Hartman number on pressure, local wall shear stress, and mechanical efficiency of peristaltic pump are studied. The reflux phenomenon is also investigated. The case of propagation of a non-integral number of waves along the tube walls, which are inherent characteristics of finite length vessels, is also examined.

The ability to correct for the influence of forest cover is crucial for retrieval of surface geophysical parameters such as snow cover and soil properties from microwave remote *** correction approaches to brightness temperatures for northern boreal forest regions consider forest transmissivity constant during ***,due to biophysical protection mechanisms,below freezing air temperatures freeze the water content of northern tree species only *** a consequence,the permittivity of many northern tree species decreases with the decrease of air temperature under sub-zero temperature *** results in a monotonic increase of the tree vegetation transmissivity,as the permittivity contrast to the surrounding air *** influence of this tree temperature-transmissivity relationship on the performance of the frequency difference passive microwave snow retrieval algorithms has not been *** ground-based observations and an analytical model simulation based on Mätzler’s approach(1994),the influence of the temperaturetransmissivity relationship on the snow retrieval algorithms,based on the spectral difference of two microwave channels,is characterized.A simple approximation approach is then developed to successfully characterize this influence(the RMSE between the analytical model simulation and the approximation approach estimation is below 0.3 K).The approximation is applied to spaceborne observations,and demonstrates the capacity to reduce the influence of the forest temperature-transmissivity relationship on passive microwave frequency difference brightness temperature.

The influence of the surface galvanic effects of 1Cr13 SS during cavitation damage has been investigated in NaCl solutions. The results show that the solution concentration and area ratio of bubble unacted surface to the bubble-acted surface greatly influence the cavitation damage of the alloy. The surface galvanic effects can speed up the dissolution rate of the alloy, and the mass loss per area of the alloy increases linearly with the area ratio of bubble unacted surface to the bubble acted surface of the alloy.

Canadian boreal mixedwood forests are extensive,with large potential for carbon sequestration and storage;thus,knowledge of their carbon stocks at different stand ages is needed to adapt forest management practices to help meet climate-change mitigation *** stocks were quantified at three Ontario boreal mixedwood sites.A harvested stand,a juvenile stand replanted with spruce seedlings and a mature stand had total carbon stocks(±SE)of 133±13 at age 2,130±13 at age 25,and 207±15 Mg C ha^-1 at age 81 *** the clear-cut site,stocks were reduced by about 40%or 90 Mg C ha^-1 at *** held 27,34 and 62%of stocks,while detritus held 34,29 and 13%of stocks at age 2,25 and 81,*** soil carbon stocks averaged 51 Mg C ha^-1,and held 38,37 and 25%of *** net primary productivity(±SE)in the harvested and juvenile stand was 2.1±0.2 and 3.7±0.3 Mg C ha^-1 per annum(p.a.),compared to 2.6±2.5 Mg C ha^-1 *** the mature *** mature canopies studied had typical boreal mixedwood composition and mean carbon densities of 208 Mg C ha^-1,which is above average for managed Canadian boreal forest ecosystems.A comparison of published results from Canadian boreal forest ecosystems showed that carbon stocks in mixedwood stands are typically higher than coniferous stands at all ages,which was also true for stocks in vegetation and ***,aboveground net primary productivity was typically found to be higher in mixedwood than in coniferous boreal forest stands over a range of *** from this study,together with those published from the other boreal forest stands demonstrate the potential for enhanced carbon sequestration through modified forest management practices to take advantage of Canadian boreal mixedwood stand characteristics.

Objective:To study the effect of family follow-up nursing in rehabilitation of elderly autistic patients in community ***:120 elderly autistic patients from February 2021 to July 2022 were randomly divided into a control group and a test group with 60 cases *** patients in the control group were cared for at home by their family members,while the patients in the test group were given family follow-up rehabilitation care on the basis of the control *** compliance of patients in the rehabilitation process,the UCLA loneliness score,the autism treatment assessment scale(ATEC)score of patients after this nursing care,and the quality-of-life scores of patients of the two groups before and after nursing care were ***:The compliance of patients in the process of rehabilitation treatment was better in the experimental group than in the experimental *** physical function score of patients after nursing was better in the experimental group than in the experimental *** UCLA loneliness score and ATEC score of patients in the experimental group after nursing were lower than those of the control group(Pderly autistic patients in community institutions can significantly improve patients’compliance and improve their prognosis,thus having high clinical value.

In this study,transient non-Fourier heat transfer in a solid cylinder is analytically solved based on dual-phase-lag for constant axial heat flux *** equations for the model are expressed in two-dimensional cylindrical coordinates;the equations are nondimensionalized and exact solution for the equations is presented by using the separation of variable *** showed that the dual-phase-lag model requires less time to meet the steady temperature compared with single-phase-lag *** the contrary,thermal wave diffusion speed for the dual-phase-lag model is greater than the single-phase-lag *** the effect of relaxation time in dual-phase-lag model has been taken on consideration.
