We have determined a value for the 1s0 neutron-neutron scattering length (ann). The scattering length result is presented for the extended-soft-core (EsC04) interaction. The value obtained in the present work is ann = -18.6249 fm. The method of solution of the radial schr?dinger equation with nonlocal potential for nucleonnucleon pairs is described and the result is consistent with previous determinations of ann = -18.63 ± 0.10 (statistical) ± 0.44 (systematic) ± 0.30 (theoretical) fm. The nonlocal potentials are of the central, spin-spin, spin-or-bital, and tensor type. The analysis from the EsC04 interaction is done at energies 0 ￡ Tlab ￡ 350 MeV. We compare the present result with experimental s-wave phase shifts analysis and agreement is found.

Time-series of land surface phenology （LsP） data offer insights about vegetation growth patterns. They can be generated by exploiting the temporal and spectral reflectance properties of land surface components. Inter- annual and seasonal LsP data are important for under- standing and predicting an ecosystem＇s response to variations caused by natural and anthropogenic drivers. This research examines spatio-temporal change patterns and interactions between terrestrial phenology and 28 years of climate dynamics in Central Asia. Long-term （1981-2008） LsP records such as timing of the start, peak and length of the growing season and vegetation productivity were derived from remotely sensed vegetation greenness data. The patterns were analyzed to identify and characterize the impact of climate drivers at regional scales. We explored the relationships between phenologi- cal and precipitation and temperature variables for three generalized land use types that were exposed to decade- long regional drought events and intensified land and water resource use： rainfed agriculture, irrigated agriculture, and non-agriculture. To determine whether and how LsP dynamics are associated with climate patterns, a series of simple linear regression analyses between these two variables was executed. The three land use classes showed unique phenological responses to climate variation across Central Asia. Most of the phenological response variables were shown to be positively correlated to precipitation and negatively correlated to temperature. The most substantial climate variable affecting phenological responses of all three land use classes was a spring temperature regime. These results indicate that future higher temperatures would cause earlier and longer growing seasons.

Background： There is considerable interest in using goats as models for genetically engineering dairy animals and also for using stem cells as therapeutics for bone and cartilage repair. Mesenchymal stem cells （MsCs） have been isolated and characterized from various species, but are poorly characterized in goats. Results： Goat MsCs isolated from bone marrow （BM-MsCs） and adipose tissue （AsCs） have the ability to undergo osteogenic, adipogenic and chondrogenic differentiation. Cytochemical staining and gene expression analysis show that AsCs have a greater capacity for adipogenic differentiation compared to BM-MsCs and fibroblasts. different methods of inducing adipogenesis also affect the extent and profile of adipogenic differentiation in MsCs. Goat fibroblasts were not capable of osteogenesis, hence distinguishing them from the MsCs. Goat MsCs and fibroblasts express Cd90, Cd105, Cd73 but not Cd45, and exhibit cytoplasmic localization of OCT4 protein. Goat MsCs can be stably transfected by Nucleofection, but, as evidenced by colony-forming efficiency （CFE）, yield significantly different levels of progenitor cells that are robust enough to proliferate into colonies of integrants following G418 selection. BM-MsCs expanded over increasing passages in vitro maintained karyotypic stability up to 20 passages in culture, exhibited an increase in adipogenic differentiation and CFE, but showed altered morphology and amenability to genetic modification by selection. Conclusions： Our findings provide characterization information on goat MsCs, and show that there can be significant differences between MsCs isolated from different tissues and from within the same tissue. Fibroblasts do not exhibit trilineage differentiation potential at the same capacity as MsCs, making it a more reliable method for distinguishing MsCs from fibroblasts, compared to cell surface marker expression.

Background: Postpartum inflammation is a natural and necessary response;however, a dysfunctional inflammatory response can be detrimental to animal productivity. The objective of this study was to determine the effects of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug(meloxicam) on ewe postpartum inflammatory response, ewe plasma polyunsaturated fatty acid and oxylipid concentrations, and lamb ***: After lambing, 36 Hampshire and Hampshire × suffolk ewes were sequentially assigned within type of birth to control(n = 17) or meloxicam orally administered on d 1 and 4 of lactation(MEL;90 mg, n = 19). Milk and blood samples were collected on d 1(prior to treatment) and d 4. Milk glucose-6-phosphate was not affected by MEL. Plasma haptoglobin(Hp) concentrations were less for MEL ewes;control ewes with greater d 1 Hp concentrations had elevated Hp on d 4, but this was not the case for MEL-treated ewes. Treatment with MEL increased plasma arachidonic acid concentration by more than 4-fold in ewes rearing singles but decreased concentrations of 9,10-dihydroxyoctadecenoic acid, prostaglandin F2α, 8-iso-prostaglandin E2, and 8,9-dihydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid. Nine oxylipids in plasma had interactions of treatment with d 1 Hp concentration,all of which revealed positive associations between d 1 Hp and d 4 oxylipid concentrations for CON, but neutral or negative relationships for MEL. MEL decreased 13-hydroxyoctadecadienoic acid:13-oxooctadecadienoic acid ratio and tended to increase 9-hydroxyoctadecadienoic acid:9-oxooctadecadienoic acid ratio(both dependent on d 1 values), indicating progressive metabolism of linoleic acid-derived oxylipids occurred by enzymatic oxidation after MEL treatment. European mountain systems have played a crucial role in shaping the distribution of species and of their genetic diversity during the Quaternary climatic changes,with the establishment of allopatric patterns across main mountain *** we investigated the evolutionary history of fea beetles of the Longitarsus candidulus species-group showing an uncommon disjunct biogeographic pattern across the Apennine and the *** applied a multilocus molecular approach and multispecies coalescent models to establish a phylogenetic and systematic framework for this morphologically homogeneous species-group and to estimate the time of main cladogenetic events underlying the origin of the Apennine-Pyrenees *** found strong support for the monophyly of the candidulus group with a sister relationship between Longitarsus laureolae and *** endemic to the Apennine and the Pyrenees mountains *** timing of speciation events in the candidulus species-group coincides with 2 major climatic transitions during the Early and Middle Pleistocene which resulted in signifcant environmental changes in Europe and suggest a scenario of allopatric isolation and divergence on distinct mountain *** split between the thermophilic species *** and the ancestor of the temperate species *** and *** is estimated at~3 Ma during the transition from Pliocene to Pleistocene and was probably triggered by their segregation in xerophilous and temperate *** speciation between *** and ***,estimated at~1 Ma during the Mid-Pleistocene Transition,can be explained by the establishment of unfavorable conditions in West Alps and Central Massif underlying the onset of the Apennine-Pyrenees disjunct ***,the strict association between members of the candidulus group and distinct Thymelaeaceae plants suggests further studies to address the hypothesis that speciation in these fea beetles might have been also associated with

To control water impairment in urban storm- water, it is important to evaluate changing patterns of water quality parameters in stormwater runoff. Thus, the authors performed a series of experiments to investigate the dynamics of common water parameters during storm events in semi-arid areas, with multiple samples collected and analyzed in field stormwater applications. At this field monitoring site within McAuliffe Park, McAllen, Texas, in the United states, a storm event increased the concentra- tions of Escherichia coli （E. coli）, but this event represented a decreasing trend over the entire event period. Besides, peak intensity of different pollutants in the stormwater runoff occurred at different times other than at any peak flows, representing a complexity of the temporal and spatial measurements. Multi-sample per- event approaches recommended based on the complexity of the hydrograph and different peak intensity times of pollutants. In addition, high bacteria and total suspended solids （Tss） concentrations in the initial stage of the storm event should be considered when designing Best Manage- ment Practices （BMPs） and Low Impact developments （LIds）. New strategies and solutions for addressing ecohydrological challenges should be proposed to avoid collateral damages to their both common wealth in ecosystems and human well-beings.
