AIM: To clarify whether there is any difference in the symptom relief in patients with reflux esophagitis following the administration of four Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). METHOdS: Two hundred and seventy-four patients with erosive reflux esophagitis were randomized to receive 8 wk of 20 mg omeprazole (n = 68), 30 mg of lansoprazole (n = 69), 40 mg of pantoprazole (n = 69), 40 mg of esomeprazole (n = 68) once a day in the morning. daily changes in heartburn and acid reflux symptoms in the first 7 d of administration were assessed using a six-point scale (0: none; 1: mild; 2: mild-moderate; 3: moderate; 4: moderate-severe; 5: severe). rESULTS: The mean heartburn score in patients treated with esomeprazole more rapidly decreased than those receiving other PPI. Complete resolution of heartburn was also more rapid in patients treated with esomeprazole for 5 d compared with omeprazole (P = 0.0018, P = 0.0098, P = 0.0027, P = 0.0137, P = 0.0069, respectively), lansoprazole (P = 0.0020, P = 0.0046, P = 0.0037, P = 0.0016, P = 0.0076, respectively), and pantoprazole (P = 0.0006, P = 0.0005, P = 0.0009, P = 0.0031, P = 0.0119, respectively). There were no significant differences between the four groups in the rate of endoscopic healing of reflux esophagitis at week 8. CONCLUSION: Esomeprazole may be more effective than omeprazole, lansoprazole, and pantoprazole for the rapid relief of heartburn symptoms and acid reflux symptoms in patients with reflux esophagitis.

We present some regularity criteria for the Leray–Hopf weak solutions to the Cauchy problem for 3d Navier–Stokes equations based on energy distribution at wavenumber bands. We show sufficient conditions for regularity based on the ratios of energy dissipation rates at sufficiently high wavenumber bands and neighboring medium wavenumber bands. Moreover, we give a regularity criterion based on relations between energy at high and low wavenumber bands.

Let （X,d,μ） be a metric measure space satisfying both the upper doubling and the geometrically doubling conditions in the sense of HytSnen. Under this assumption, we prove that θ-type Calderon-Zygmund operators which are bounded on L2（μ） are also bounded from L∞（μ） into rBMO（μ） and from H1,∞at（μ） into L1（μ）.

Conventionally,flexible barriers are rated based on their ability to resist a free-falling boulder with a particular input ***,there is still no well-accepted approach for evaluating performance of flexible barrier under debris flow *** this study,a large-nonlinear finite-element model was used to back-analyze centrifuge tests to discern the effects of impact material type,barrier stiffness,and flow aspect ratio(flow height to flow length)on the reaction force between the impacting medium and flexible *** show that,in contrast to flexible barriers for resisting rockfall,the normal impact force induced by the highly frictional and viscous debris is insensitive to barrier *** is because the elongated distributions of kinetic energy are mainly dissipated by the internal and boundary shearing,and only a small portion is forwarded to the ***,a new stiffness number is proposed to characterize the equivalent stiffness between a debris flow or a boulder,and a flexible *** the circumstance of an extremely elongated debris flow event,i.e.,low aspect ratio,the load on a barrier is dominated by the static component and thus not sensitive to the barrier stiffness.

The effects of acyclic liquid nitrogen(LN)treatment in a temperature range of-196℃to 50℃on the thermal and magnetic stability of Fe78Si9B13 and Fe73.5Si13.5B9Nb3Cu1 glassy ribbons have been *** intrinsic heterogeneities of the metallic glasses can be activated through cryogenic thermal cycling,making irreversible structural changes after the treatment and inducing rejuvenation to the *** microstructural changes of both Fe-based metallic glass(MG)and nanocrystalline alloy induced by LN treatment were *** experimental results show that the LN treatment could effectively rejuvenate the Fe-Si-B MGs and change their thermomechanical and magnetic *** on the partially-crystallinity and well-known magnetic constants,the increase of the energy at the order of 10m J/g and magnetic domain wall movement and rotation at the order of 5-6μm and 0.5°-0.8°are found for FINEMET-type amorphous alloy after LN *** is also found that LN treatment can contribute a little stored energy to the magnetic domain wall movement and magnetic domain rotation.

Changes in natural geographic features and landscape patterns directly influence the hydrology and non-point source pollution processes in the watershed;however,to slow down non-point source pollution,it is necessary to distinguish their *** the non-point source pollution process is interactional as a result of multiple factors,and the collinearity between multiple independent variables limits our ability of reason ***,taking the Burhatong river Basin,Northeast China as an example,the methods of hydrological simulation,geographic detectors,and redundancy analysis have been combined to determine the impact of natural geographic features and landscape patterns on non-point source pollution in the *** Soil&Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)has been adopted to simulate the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of total nitrogen and total phosphorus in the *** results show that the proportions of agricultural land and forest area and the location-weighted landscape contrast index(LWLI)are the main indicators influencing the rivers total nitrogen and total *** interaction of these indicators with natural geographic features and landscape configuration indicators also significantly influences the changes in total nitrogen(TN)and total phosphorus(TP).Natural geographical features and landscape patterns have different comprehensive effects on non-point source pollution in the dry and wet *** and TP loads are affected mainly by the change in landscape pattern,especially in the wet *** the ecological restoration program has improved forest coverage,the purification effect of increased forest coverage on the water quality in the watershed may be offset by the negative impact of increased forest *** high concentration and complexity of farmland patches increase the risk of non-point source pollution spread to a certain extent.

The interplay between Pleistocene climatic variability and hominin adaptations to diverse terrestrial ecosystems is a key topic in human evolutionary studies. Early and Middle Pleistocene environmental change and its relation to hominin behavioural responses has been a subject of great interest in Africa and Europe, though little information is available for other key regions of the Old World, particularly from Eastern Asia. Here we examine key Early Pleistocene sites of the Nihewan Basin, in high-latitude northern China, dating between ～1.4 and 1.0 million years ago(Ma). We compare stone-tool assemblages from three Early Pleistocene sites in the Nihewan Basin, including detailed assessment of stone-tool refitting sequences at the ～1.1-Ma-old site of Cenjiawan. Increased toolmaking skills and technological innovations are evident in the Nihewan Basin at the onset of the Mid-Pleistocene Climate Transition(MPT).Examination of the lithic technology of the Nihewan sites, together with an assessment of other key Palaeolithic sites of China, indicates that toolkits show increasing diversity at the outset of the MPT and in its aftermath. The overall evidence indicates the adaptive flexibility of early hominins to ecosystem changes since the MPT, though regional abandonments are also apparent in high latitudes, likely owing to cold and oscillating environmental conditions. The view presented here sharply contrasts with traditional arguments that stone-tool technologies of China are homogeneous and continuous over the course of the Early Pleistocene.

Glacial tills are highly compressible soils composed of loosely cemented sandy silt *** role,for instance,as initial filler materials in geo-technical projects along temperate glacier regions warrant a systematic evaluation of their compressive *** such,we carry out a series of onedimensional compression tests on re-compacted glacial till samples obtained from Tianmo Gully,Tibet,with the aims of evaluating their compressive behavior under controlled initial stress *** yield stress was determined from the void ratio versus consolidation pressure(e-log)*** compression and swelling behaviors were observed during the primary and secondary compressions of the consolidation *** the compression curves,a correlation can be found between the consolidation stress and the void *** addition,we find that the compression curves of glacial tills collapse into a single curve when normalized by the compression *** experimental results in this study provide a basic understanding of the compression characteristics of the glacial tills in Tibet,China.
