default or profit scoring credit systems?Evidence from European and US peer-to-peer lending markets

For the emerging peer-to-peer(P2P)lending markets to survive,they need to employ credit-risk management practices such that an investor base is profitable in the long ***,credit-risk management relies on credit scoring that predicts loans’probability of *** this paper,we use a profit scoring approach that is based on modeling the annualized adjusted internal rate of returns of *** validate our profit scoring models with traditional credit scoring models,we use data from a European P2P lending market,Bondora,and also a random sample of loans from the Lending Club P2P lending *** compare the out-of-sample accuracy and profitability of the credit and profit scoring models within several classes of statistical and machine learning models including the following:logistic and linear regression,lasso,ridge,elastic net,random forest,and neural *** found that our approach outperforms standard credit scoring models for Lending Club and Bondora *** specifically,as opposed to credit scoring models,returns across all loans are 24.0%(Bondora)and 15.5%(Lending Club)higher,whereas accuracy is 6.7%(Bondora)and 3.1%(Lending Club)higher for the proposed profit scoring ***,our results are not driven by manual selection as profit scoring models suggest investing in more ***,even if we consider data sampling bias,we found that the set of superior models consists almost exclusively of profit scoring ***,our results contribute to the literature by suggesting a paradigm shift in modeling credit-risk in the P2P market to prefer profit as opposed to credit-risk scoring models.

Copper(I)selenide-nanocrystalline semiconductor was synthesized via one-step mechanochemical synthesis after 5 min milling in a planetary ball *** kinetics of synthesis was followed by X-ray powder diffraction analysis and specific surface area measurements of milled 2Cu/Se *** X-ray diffraction confirmed the orthorhombic crystal structure of Cu_(2)Se with the crystallite size∼25 *** surface chemical structure was studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,whereby the binding energy of the Cu 2p and Se 3d signals corresponded to Cu^(+)and Se^(2−)oxidation *** electron microscopy revealed agglomerated nanocrystals and confirmed their orthorhombic structure,as *** optical properties were studied utilizing ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy and photoluminescence *** direct bandgap energy 3.7 eV indicated a blue-shift phenomenon due to the quantum size *** type of Cu_(2)Se synthesis can be easily adapted to production dimensions using an industrial vibratory *** advantages of mechanochemical synthesis represent the potential for inexpensive,environmentally-friendly,and waste-free manufacturing of Cu_(2)Se.

Let G = （V, E） be a finite, simple and undirected graph with p vertices and q edges. An （a, d）-vertex-antimagic total labeling of G is a bijection f from V（G） t2 E（G） onto the set of consecutive integers 1, 2,... ,p ＋ q, such that the vertex-weights form an arithmetic progression with the initial term a and difference d, where the vertex-weight of x is the sum of the value f（x） assigned to the vertex x together with all values f（xy） assigned to edges xy incident to x. Such labeling is called super if the smallest possible labels appear on the vertices. In this paper, we study the properties of such labelings and examine their existence for 2r-regular graphs when the difference d is 0, 1,..., r ＋ 1.

轮胎是橡胶工业中应用最广泛、经济效益最好的产品之一.随着现代汽车行驶速度和运输安全性能要求的提高,对轮胎驱动性能的要求也随之提高.轮胎行业的发展目标是生产智能轮胎.智能材料一般指能随周围环境的变化而作出反应并发生变化的材料.智能轮胎能对外部传感器信息作出响应,并提供轮胎即时状态信息--轮胎作用力、形变量、温度、压力、车轮转速等其它信息.这些信息被传输至现代汽车的电子设备.电子系统随后修正参数,从而使驾驶条件达到最佳.设计此种类型轮胎的可能方法之一是采用既具有常规性能又能对外部传感器作出响应的橡胶并用胶.添加磁性填料的胶料可能具有上述材料性能,并可用于生产轮胎胎侧胶或胎面胶,最终成为轮胎橡胶部件,在轮胎中起永久磁铁的作用,用以评估轮胎在行驶过程中的形变力.

To enhance the stability of traffic flow,a new car-following model is proposed by taking into account the support of intelligent transportation system(ITS)information,which includes both the headway and the velocity difference of multiple preceding *** new model is based on the Optimal Velocity(ov)model and its extended *** stability condition of the model is obtained by using the linear stability *** nonlinear analysis,the modified Korteweg-de Vries equation is constructed and solved,and the traffic flow is classified into three types,***,metastable,and *** jam phase can thus be described by the kink-antikink soliton solution for the mKdV *** numerical simulation results show that compared with previous models considering only one of the ITS information,the proposed model can suppress traffic jams more efficiently when both headway and velocity difference of arbitrary preceding cars are taken into *** results of numerical simulation coincide with the theoretical ones.

In eukaryotes, the RNase-Ⅲ dicer often produces length/sequence microRNA （miRNA） variants, called ＂isomiRs＂, owing to intrinsic structural/sequence determinants of the miRNA precursors （pre-miRNAs）. In this study, we combined biophysics, genetics and biochemistry approaches to study Arabidopsis miR168, the key feedback regulator of central plant silencing effector protein ARGONAUTE1 （AGO1）. We identified a motif conserved among plant premiR168 orthologs, which enables flexible internal basepairing underlying at least three metastable structural configurations. These configurations promote alternative, accurate dicer cleavage events generating length and structural isomiR168 variants with distinctive AGO sorting properties and modes of action. Among these isomiR168s, a duplex with a 22-nt guide strand exhibits strikingly preferential affinity for AGO10, the closest AGO1 paralog. The 22-nt miR168-AGO10 complex antagonizes AGO1 accumulation in part via ＂transitive RNAi＂, a silencing-amplification process, to maintain appropriate AGO1 cellular homeostasis. Furthermore, we found that the tombusviral P19 silencing-suppressor protein displays markedly weaker affinity for the 22-nt form among its isomiR168 cargoes, thereby promoting AGO10-directed suppression of AGOl-mediated antiviral silencing. Taken together, these findings indicate that structural flexibility, a previously overlooked property of premiRNAs, considerably increases the versatility and regulatory potential of individual MIRNA genes, and that some pathogens might have evolved the capacity or mechanisms to usurp this property.
