Ionic conductivity and relaxation studies in PVdF-HFP:PMMA-based gel polymer blend electrolyte with LiClO_(4) salt

Poly(vinylidene fluoride-hexafluropropylene)(PVdF-HFP)and poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA)-based gel polymer electrolytes(GPEs)comprising propylene carbonate and diethyl carbonate mixed plasticizer with variation of lithium perchlorate(LiClO_(4))salt concentrations have been prepared using a solvent casting *** characterization has been carried out using XRd wherein diffraction pattern reveals the amorphous nature of sample up to 7.5 wt.%salt and complexation of polymers and salt have been studied by FTIR *** morphology of the samples has been studied using scanning electron *** impedance spectroscopy in the temperature range 303-363k has been carried out for electrical *** maximum room temperature conductivity of 2.83×10^(-4) S cm^(-1) has been observed for the GPE incorporating 7.5 wt.%LiClO_(4).The temperature dependence of ionic conductivity obeys the Arrhenius *** increase in ionic conductivity with change in temperatures and salt content is *** number measurement is carried out by Wagner’s dC polarization *** tangent(tanδ)and imaginary part of modulus(M″)corresponding to dielectric relaxation and conductivity relaxation respectively show faster relaxation process with increasing salt content up to optimum value of 7.5 wt.%LiClO_(4).The modulus(M″)shows that the conductivity relaxation is of non-debye type(broader than debye peak).

Cyclic loading of marble: Correlating the attenuation of the electric and acoustic activities and highlighting criticality indices in terms of natural time

The attenuation of the acoustic activity in marble specimens under uniaxial compressive loading-unloading loops is quantified in juxtaposition to that of the electric activity. In parallel, the existence of "pre-failure indices" warning about entrance into a critical stage, that of impending fracture, is explored. The acoustic activity is quantified in terms of the normalized number of acoustic hits, their average rate of production and their cumulative energy, and, the cumulative counts and their average rate of change. The electric activity is studied in terms of the pressure stimulated currents and the electric charge released. The analysis revealed that the acoustic and electric activities are linearly correlated to each other, suggesting that they are different manifestations of the same damage mechanisms. In addition, kaiser's effect, governing the acoustic activity, is found to govern, also, the electric activity. Moreover, it is concluded that entrance into the critical stage is safely predicted by means of a simple criterion, based on the evolution of the average rate of change of the normalized cumulative counts in the natural time domain. These predictions are almost identical with those of the criterion based on the "variance" and the "entropies" of the time series of acoustic events in this domain. © 2025

dP/dt_(max):An underestimated prognostic factor in large animal infarction model

The present study aims to establish a reproducible large animal experimental unit using a minipig model to monitor cardiac function changes.A 90-min closed-chest bal-loon occlusion of the left anterior descending branch of the coronary artery was used to induce myocardial infarction in Pannon *** monitor the cardiac function,measurements were made by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging(cMRI),invasive pressure monitoring,and a Pulse index Continuous Cardiac Output(PiCCO)hemo-dynamic system at 0,72,and 720 h during the follow-up ***-diastolic and end-systolic volumes(EdV,ESV),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)obtained by cMRI evaluation,global ejection fraction and aortic dP/dt_(max)obtained by the invasive method,were recorded and *** 72-and 720-h EdV data showed a signifi-cant increase(p=0.012,d to baseline,and the day 30 data showed a significant increase compared to day 3(p=0.022).The ESV 72 h after the infarction showed a significant increase(p=0.001)compared to baseline,which did not change significantly by day 30(p=0.781)compared to day *** and ESV were signifi-cantly negatively correlated with aortic dp_(max),and ESV was significantly correlated with *** LVEF and dP_(max),a significant(pd p=0.002)worsening was demonstrated at day 3 compared to baseline,which was no longer statistically de-tectable for LVEF at day 30(p=0.141),while the difference for dP_(max)was maintained(p=0.002).The complementary use of PiCCO hemodynamic measurements in large animal models makes the previously used methodologies more robust and reliable.

The thermal nanofluids have garnered widespread attention for their use in multiple thermal systems, including heating processes, sustainable energy, and nuclear reactions. Research on nanofluids has revealed that the thermal efficiencies of such materials are adversely affected by various thermal features. The purpose of the current work is to demonstrate the thermal analysis of Jeffrey nanofluids with the suspension of microorganisms in the presence of variable thermal sources. The variable effects of thermal conductivity, Brownian diffusivity, and motile density are utilized. The investigated model also reveals the contributions of radiation phenomena and chemical reactions. A porous, saturated, moving surface with a suction phenomenon promotes flow. The modeling of the problem is based on the implementation of the Cattaneo-Christov *** convective thermal constraints are used to promote the heat transfer features. A simplified form of the governing model is treated with the assistance of a shooting technique. The physical effects of different parameters for the problem are presented. The current problem justifies its applications in heat transfer, coating processes, heat exchangers, cooling systems in microelectronics, solar systems, chemical processes, etc.
