We report the radio observations of the eclipsing black widow pulsar j1720-0534, a 3.26 ms pulsar in orbit with a low mass companion of mass 0.029 to 0.034 M⊙. We obtain the phase-connected timing ephemeris and polarization profile of this millisecond pulsar(MSP) using the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST), the Green Bank Telescope(GBT), and the Parkes Telescope. For the first time from such a system, an oscillatory polarization angle change was observed from a particular eclipse egress with partial depolarization, indicating 10-milliGauss-level reciprocating magnetic fields oscillating in a length scale of 5 ×10^(3)km(assuming an orbital inclination angle of 90°) outside the companion's magnetosphere. The dispersion measure variation observed during the ingresses and egresses shows the rapid raising of the electron density in the shock boundary between the companion's magnetosphere and the surrounding pulsar wind. We suggest that the observed oscillatory magnetic fields originate from the pulsar wind outside the companion's magnetosphere.

Endothelium-specific gene and stem cell-based therapy for erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction （Ed） commonly results from endothelial dysfunction of the systemic vasculature. Although phosphodiesterase type 5 （PdE-5） inhibitors are effective at treating most cases of Ed, they must be taken routinely and are ineffectual for a meaningful number of men. In recent years gene and stem cell-based therapies targeted at the penile endothelium have been gaining momentum in preclinical studies. These early studies reveal that gene and stem cell-based therapies may be both enduring and efficacious, and may eventually lead to a cure for Ed. The following review will highlight our current understanding of endothelial-specific gene and stem cell-based therapies performed to date in a number of experimental animal models.

A New Simulation of Track Structure of Low-Energy Electrons in Liquid Water:Considering the Condensed-Phase Effect on Electron Elastic Scattering

A new Monte Carlo simulation of the track structure of low-energy electrons （〈10keV） in liquid water is presented. The feature of the simulation is taken into consideration of the condensed-phase effect of liquid water on electron elastic scattering with the use of the champion model, while the dielectric response formalism incorporating the optical-data model developed by Emfietzoglou et al. is applied for calculating the electron inelastic scattering. The spatial distributions of energy deposition and inelastic scattering events of low-energy electrons with different primary energies in liquid water are calculated and compared with other theoretical evaluations. The present work shows that the condensed-phase effect of liquid water on electron elastic scattering may be of the influence on the fraction of absorbed energy and distribution of inelastic scattering events at lower primary energies, which also indicate potential effects on the dNA damage induced by low-energy electrons.

Structure of nanocrystalline WC-10%Co powder

Nanostructured WC Co powders obtained by mechanical milling were investigated by combination of X ray diffraction (XRd) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) techniques. Rietveld analysis indicates that the experimental XRd patterns cannot be satisfactorily explained with the hexagonal WC structure. HRTEM image analysis shows that in the as milled nanostructured powder, many WC grains contain stacking faults lying on the plane {10·0}. Analysis of phase images show that these defects are nearly periodically ordered along the direction. Based on these observations, a structural model was proposed for the WC grains with ordered stacking faults, which is in fact equivalent to a superstructure of WC with space group Amm2. When this model describing the faulted fraction of WC is introduced together with the normal WC structure (space group P6-m2) into the Rietveld refinement, a much better agreement between the calculated and experimental XRd profiles was obtained. This study allows to obtain the lattice parameters, grain size, microstrain and other structural information on the as milled powders.
