Knowledge and Perception of Women on Uterine Fibroids in the Gynecology-Obstetrics department of CHR Tsévié (Togo)

introduction: Uterine fibroids are benign tumors that develop from the connective and muscular tissues of the uterus. Common among African-American women, patients suffering from them often arrive late to the hospital in our African regions. This study aimed to investigate the knowledge and perception of uterine fibroids among women who came to the gynecology-obstetrics department of the Regional Hospital Center (CHR) Tsévié. Methodology: it was a cross-sectional descriptive study, with data collection conducted from May 7th to 20th, 2024, using systematic sampling. The study included all women present in the Gynecology-Obstetrics department of CHR Tsévié during the study period who willingly and informedly consented to participate in the survey. Results: 362 women participated in the study. Among them, 36.8% had a secondary level, and 72.9% were Christians. About 97.5% had heard of uterine fibroids. in 63.5% of cases, their entourage was the principal source of information. The diagnostic methods mentioned by the women were ultrasound in 94.6% of cases, while prayers and occultism were also cited in 28% and 33.3% of cases, respectively. While 91.9% of the women considered the hospital, the place for treatment, some indicated that treatment would require plant-based approaches (46.8%) and prayers (26%). The cost of treatment was an obstacle for 85.4% of women, and 61.3% expressed fear of dying during surgery. There was a statistically significant relationship between treatment choice and religion. Conclusion: The majority of women had heard of uterine fibroids but had incorrect information about the treatment.

Valorization of Ubiquitous Plant Species Used as Food Packaging in Benin: A Sustainable Solution to improve Quality of Life and Protect the Environment

Vegetal leaves play a significant role in the daily lives of populations in developing countries. This study aimed to highlight the plant species used as food packaging in southern Benin. A survey questionnaire was administered in local markets, and informed consent was obtained from native guides. data were processed using Google Forms, and a phytochemical screening was conducted on the sampled species. A total of 311 individuals, including elders, vendors, and consumers, participated in the survey. The most commonly used plant species identified were Tectona grandis, Thalia geniculata, Musa sapientum, Gmelina arborea, Manihot esculenta, and Terminalia catappa. Several reasons, primarily cultural, explain the preference for these species. Notably, Tectona grandis and Musa sapientum demonstrated superior morphological, physical, and organoleptic qualities, measuring 79 cm by 53.5 cm and over 2 m by 50 cm, respectively. They accounted for 33.33% and 32.35% of usage. Additionally, fermented corn paste, making up over 53% of offerings, was the most popular food item. The mechanical properties of these leaves, such as flexibility, toughness, and relative impermeability, along with identified phytochemicals like terpenes, alkaloids, gallic acid, flavonoids, and coumarins, enhance food preservation and limit microbial activity. Promoting the use of these natural packaging materials over plastic alternatives could significantly reduce environmental pollution and mitigate the risks associated with toxic microorganisms in food, contributing to both ecological health and food safety.

The spectrum and properties of the excited states of the nucleon are still poorly established despite decades of study. These proceedings describe new measurements of pseudo-scalar meson photoproduction at the Crystal Ball at MAMi, employing a new large acceptance nucleon recoil polarimeter. The double- and single-polarisation observables obtained will provide valuable and unique data to be used as part of the world effort to improve our knowledge of this fundamental spectrum.

We study the reduction of peak velocity on the ground surface of a soil valley caused by loss of wave energy by large nonlinear strains and strain localization inside the valley,for excitation by a half-sine P-wave *** study is a follow up to our previous study of out of plane response for excitation by an *** this paper,we consider the in-plane response,and assume that the soil material does not support tension,but the normal stress at a point in the soil can be compression(negative)or zero.A point in the soil with zero stress behaves as a stress-free point,it does not transmit normal stress and appears as a crack *** of this,along with the nonlinear response associated with compression and shear,the in-plane response in this study is more complex than that of the out-of-plane SH *** study the interplay of two opposing effects:(i)jump in impedance from a higher value(half-space)to a lower value(valley),which amplifies the linear motions at the free surface of the valley,and(ii)the occurrence of nonlinear zones in the valley,which reduce the motion at the valley surface.

The levered-dual response(LEdAR)Coulomb-damped system attains near resonant vibration isolation by differential preloads/offsets in linear *** takes the advantages of both the preloads/offsets in linear springs and the guiderail friction for realizing different levels of vibration *** isolation capacities are investigated on the strategies with both the horizontal and vertical guiderails,with the horizontal rail only,and without *** compressive preloads generally result in the consumption of most of the initial excitation energy so as to overcome the potential *** isolation onsets at the frequency ratio of 1∓0.095 on the left-hand side(LHS)and the right-hand side(RHS)of the lever are relative to the load plate *** observed near resonant isolation thus makes the LEdAR system a candidate for the isolation of the mechanical systems about resonance while opening a path for simultaneous harvesterisolation functions and passive functions at extreme frequencies.

Nitric oxide(NO) decomposition on catalysts, containing oxides of lanthanum and cerium, supported on γ-alumina

The present work was devoted to study the catalytic activity of lanthanum and cerium oxides separately,deposited on g-alumina in the reaction of decomposition of nitric oxide. The catalyst samples were prepared by the method of impregnation of g-Al_2 O_3 using solutions, containing nitrates of lanthanum and cerium. The prepared samples were calcined for 4 h at temperature 650℃ in an oven in air atmosphere. The catalysts were characterized by: chemical analysis by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(iCP-AES), X-ray diffraction(XRd), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) combined with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EdS), electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR) and infrared(iR) spectroscopy, as well as measurement of the specific surface area. The results show that the catalysts based on lanthanum oxide and cerium oxide deposited on alumina display high catalytic activity over 60% conversion degree with respect to decomposition of nitric oxide in the absence of reducing agent. in the presence of reducer the activity reaches 90% conversion degree.

Polyethylene glycol fusion repair of severed sciatic nerves accelerates recovery of nociceptive sensory perceptions in male and female rats of different strains

For a given T>0,we prove,under the global ARS-condition and using the Nehari manifold method,the existence of a T-periodic solution having the W-symmetry introduced in[21],for the hamiltonian system z+V'(z)=0,z∈R^N,N∈N^*.Moreover,such a solution is shown to have T as a minimal period without relaying to any index theory.A multiplicity result is also proved under the same condition.

New Features of the Pulsar B0950+08 Radiation at the Frequency of 111 MHz
