Shape correspondence for cel animation based on a shape association graph and spectral matching

We present an effective spectral matching method based on a shape association graph for finding region correspondences between two cel animation *** formulate the correspondence problem as an adapted quadratic assignment problem,which comprehensively considers both the intrinsic geometric and topology of regions to find the globally optimal *** simultaneously represent the geometric and topological similarities between regions,we propose a shape association graph(SAG),whose node attributes indicate the geometric distance between regions,and whose edge attributes indicate the topological distance between combined region *** convert topological distance to geometric distance between geometric objects with topological features of the pairs,and introduce Kendall shape space to calculate the intrinsic geometric *** utilizing the spectral properties of the affinity matrix induced by the SAG,our approach can efficiently extract globally optimal region correspondences,even if shapes have inconsistent topology and severe *** is also robust to shapes undergoing similarity transformations,and compatible with parallel computing techniques.

In this paper,we present a surface reconstruction via 2d strokes and a vector field on the strokes based on a two-step *** the first step,from sparse strokes drawn by artists and a given vector field on the strokes,we propose a nonlinear vector interpolation combining total variation(TV)and H1 regularization with a curl-free constraint for obtaining a dense vector *** the second step,a height map is obtained by integrating the dense vector field in the first *** discontinuities in surface and discontinuities of surface gradients can be well reconstructed without any surface *** also provide a fast and efficient algorithm for solving the proposed *** vectors on the strokes are interpreted as a projection of surface gradients onto the plane,different types of strokes are easily devised to generate geometrically crucial structures such as ridge,valley,jump,bump,and dip on the *** stroke types help users to create a surface which they intuitively imagine from 2d *** compare our results with conventional methods via many examples.

Brucellosis is a zoonotic disease of economic importance. The clinical manifestations vary in humans;therefore a good diagnostic test is required to confirm the disease. The serum tube agglutination (SA) test, though still the most widely test used, can be problematic for the diagnosis of chronic infections. The other supplementary tests, such as the complement fixation (CF) test and ELISA, require special equipment, reagents and trained personnel. The Rose Bengal plate (RBP) test has shown potential as a good rapid diagnostic test. This is a report of serum samples from suspected cases of brucellosis that were tested using the RBP, SA and CF tests. The RBP test was shown to have a better relative sensitivity and as good specificity as the SA when compared with the CF test, and may be a useful initial diagnostic test for hospitals in remote rural areas if properly conducted with well stored antigen.

Cd40 ligation provides signals central to chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cell survival and proliferation. The release of soluble Cd40 (sCd40) may impact on both these signals and Cd40 targeted therapies. In this study we investigated the prognostic significance of plasma sCd40 inuntreated CLL patients (n = 34). We report that 56% had levels higher than those of normal donors and that elevated levels were associated with significantly shorter treatment free (TFS) and overall survival. In bivariate analysis sCd40 remained a significant marker of TFS independent of Binet staging, Cd38 positivity and lymphocyte count. RT-PCR analysis demonstrated that CLL cells expressed transcripts encoding putative sCd40. These results suggest sCd40 may play a role in CLL progression and that its function, prognostic significance and potential impact on antibody based therapies should be further investigated.

A Method to Evaluate Abrasion of Shoe-Sole Using 3d Scanning Technique

A study was carried out to evaluate abrasion of shoe-sole for subjects with different running gait. A 3 dimensional （3d） scanning approach together with a commercial software, CloudCompare Mesh Cloud Comparison was utilized for this study. In CloudCompare, a grid system and colored scale was applied to identify the region and extend of abrasion of the shoe-sole. This study clearly showed the extent of abrasion on regions of shoe-sole identified from the colored scale. This paper was done with kind support from Asics Institute for Sports Science, Kobe, Japan and Institute for Sport Research （ISR-NTU）.

【目的】研究外源过氧化氢(H_(2)O_(2))处理对采后荔枝褐变及活性氧代谢的影响,为荔枝采后保鲜提供途径,以期提高果实的贮藏品质。【方法】以清水处理为对照(CK),采用不同浓度(1、5和10 mmol/L)的外源H_(2)O_(2)浸泡荔枝3 min,在4℃下冷藏放置,每隔3 d取样一次,进行失重率、褐变指数、丙二醛(MdA)含量、细胞膜透性、内源H_(2)O_(2)含量、超氧阴离子(O_(2)-)产生速率、多酚氧化酶(PPO)活性和超氧化物歧化酶(SOd)活性等生理指标的测定。【结果】不同浓度的外源H_(2)O_(2)处理对采后荔枝会产生不同的贮藏效果。以5 mmol/L外源H_(2)O_(2)处理保鲜效果最佳,明显降低果皮中MdA含量、内源H_(2)O_(2)含量和PPO活性,并提高SOd活性,减缓O_(2)-产生速率。至贮藏末期(12 d),经5 mmol/L外源H_(2)O_(2)处理的采后荔枝SOd活性较CK显著提高31.41%(PdA含量、PPO活性、O_(2)-产生速率和内源H_(2)O_(2)含量较CK分别降低44.72%、38.72%、22.63%和13.75%,其失重率、褐变指数和相对电导率最低。1 mmol/L外源H_(2)O_(2)处理效果稍逊于5 mmol/L外源H_(2)O_(2)处理,而经10 mmol/L外源H_(2)O_(2)处理显著提高采后荔枝的MdA和内源H_(2)O_(2)含量,加速采后果实衰老。【结论】采用5 mmol/L外源H_(2)O_(2)处理可调节采后荔枝的活性氧代谢而延缓其衰老进程,为H_(2)O_(2)应用于采后荔枝保鲜提供理论支撑。

Context: Only 1%to 8%of adults with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survive to hospital discharge. Objective: To compare resuscitation outcomes before and after an urban emergency medical services(EMS) system switched from manual cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) to load-distributing band(LdB) CPR. design, Setting, and Patients: A phased, observational cohort evaluation with intention-to-treat analysis of 783 adults with out-of-hospital, nontraumatic cardiac arrest. A total of 499 patients were included in the manual CPR phase(January 1, 2001, to March 31, 2003) and 284 patients in the LdB-CPR phase(december 20, 2003, to March 31, 2005); of these patients, the LdB device was applied in 210 patients. Intervention: Urban EMS system change from manual CPR to LdB-CPR. Main Outcome Measures: Return of spontaneous circulation(ROSC), with secondary outcome measures of survival to hospital admission and hospital discharge, and neurological outcome at discharge. Results:Patients in the manual CPR and LdB-CPR phases were comparable except for a faster response time interval(mean difference, 26 seconds) and more EMS-witnessed arrests(18.7%vs 12.6%) with LdB. Rates for ROSC and survival were increased with LdB-CPR compared with manual CPR(for ROSC, 34.5%; 95%confidence interval[CI], 29.2%-40.3%vs 20.2%; 95%CI, 16.9%-24.0%; adjusted odds ratio[OR], 1.94; 95%CI, 1.38-2.72; for survival to hospital admission, 20.9%; 95%CI, 16.6%-26.1%vs 11.1%; 95%CI, 8.6%-14.2%; adjusted OR, 1.88; 95%CI, 1.23-2.86; and for survival to hospital discharge, 9.7%; 95%CI, 6.7%-13.8%vs 2.9%; 95%CI, 1.7%-4.8%; adjusted OR, 2.27; 95%CI, 1.11-4.77). In secondary analysis of the 210 patients in whom the LdB device was applied, 38 patients(18.1%) survived to hospital admission(95%CI, 13.4%-23.9%) and 12 patients(5.7%) survived to hospital discharge(95%CI, 3.0%-9.3%).
