Hydroxyapatite(HA)and its composites with inorganic additives,dopants,and polymers is a rapidly developing branch in the materials *** particular,carbon allotropes are widely used in these composites being widely applied for medical *** a gap of insufficient generalization of recent achievements in the field of the HA/Carbon composites,in this review we present the state of the art of the field of HA composites and hybrids with classic carbon allotropes and *** composites are known for carbon nanotubes,nanofibers,graphene and its oxidized forms,as well as,in a lesser grade,for graphite,fullerenes,nanodiamonds,carbon nanofoams,*** composites can be fabricated by a variety of classic and less-common methods,such as co-precipitation(with or without ultrasonic treatment),CVd,hot isostatic pressing,hydrothermal,spark plasma sintering,biomimetic mineralization,thermal and plasma spray,electrochemical and electrophoretic deposition,self-assembling,3d printing,electrospinning,and lyophilisation,among *** of various synthesis techniques can be also carried out for composite *** or synthetic HA can be used as it is for further interaction with carbon allotropes or it can be first prepared and then reacted with carbon counterpart;similarly,carbon allotropes can be introduced into the interaction with HA directly or they can be first synthesized,in particular from *** biocompatible composites can be produced in the form of coatings,powders,and scaffolds and can additionally contain quantitative amounts of third phases,frequently natural or synthetic *** these composites,especially with O-containing functionalizing groups,HA disadvantages could be considerably decreased with simultaneous enhancement of mechanical properties,becoming similar to human bone,chemical stability and biocompatibility,as well as possessing antibacterial ***→g reduction and higher HA decoration were obs

Aerodynamics of a Tandem-Bladed Axial Compressor Rotor under Circumferential distortion at different Rotational Speeds

Improved Leap-frog method for Time-domain Fault Location

The partial differential equation(PdE)solution of the telegrapher is a promising fault location method among time-domain and model-based *** research works have shown that the leap-frog process is superior to other explicit methods for the PdE ***,its implementation is challenged by determining the initial conditions in time and the boundary conditions in *** letter proposes two implicit solution methods for determining the initial conditions and an analytical way to obtain the boundary conditions founded on the signal *** results show that the proposal gives fault location accuracy superior to the existing leap-frog scheme,particularly in the presence of harmonics.

Effect of Ta_(2)O_(5)nanoparticles on bioactivity,composition,structure,in vitro and in vivo behavior of PEO coatings on mg-alloy

The present study investigates the physical and chemical characteristics,behavior in vitro and in vivo,and biocompatibility of coatings containing Ta_(2)O_(5),which are obtained by plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)on mA8 magnesium *** obtained coatings demonstrate in vivo biocompatibility and in vitro *** to the base PEO coating,the layers containing Ta_(2)O_(5)facilitate the development of apatite in simulated body fluid,suggesting that the inclusion of nanoparticles improves bioactivity of the *** was found that incorporation of Ta_(2)O_(5)nanoparticles increases roughness and porosity of the formed layers by increasing particle concentration in electrolytes for the PEO process contributing to sufficient soft tissue ingrowth in *** on in vivo studies,these coatings also provide favorable tissue response and minimal inflammatory reaction in comparison with the bare magnesium alloy due to protection of living tissues from deleterious corrosion events of magnesium implant such as local alkalization and intense hydrogen *** results obtained in the present study concluded biocompatibility,tissue integration of the PEO coatings containing Ta_(2)O_(5)nanoparticles making them a promising protective layer for biod.gradable magnesium implants.

The Effect of External magnetic Field on Electron Scale Kelvin–Helmholtz Instability

We use particle-in-cell,fully electromagnetic,plasma kinetic simulation to study the effect of external magnetic field on electron scale Kelvin–Helmholtz instability(ESKHI).The results are applicable to collisionless plasmas when,e.g.,solar wind interacts with planetary magnetospheres or a magnetic field is generated in AgN *** find that as in the case of magnetohydrodynamic(mHd)KHI,in the kinetic regime,the presence of an external magnetic field reduces the growth rate of the *** the mHd case,there is a known threshold magnetic field for KHI stabilization,while for ESKHI this is to be analytically *** a kinetic analytical expression,we use several numerical simulation runs to establish an empirical dependence of ESKHI growth rate,Γ(B_(0))ω_(pe),on the strength of the applied external magnetic *** find the best fit is hyperbolic,Γ(B_(0))ω_(pe)=Γ_(0)ω_(pe)/(A+BB_(0)),where Γ_(0) is the ESKHI growth rate without an external magnetic field and B_(0)=B_(0)/B_(mHd)is the ratio of external and two-fluid mHd stability threshold magnetic field,derived *** analytical theory to back up this growth rate dependence on the external magnetic field is *** results suggest that in astrophysical settings where a strong magnetic field pre-exists,the generation of an additional magnetic field by the ESKHI is suppressed,which implies that nature provides a“safety valve”—natural protection not to“over-generate”magnetic field by the ESKHI ***,we find that our two-fluid mHd threshold magnetic field is the same(up to a factor √γ_(0))as the dC saturation magnetic field,previously predicted by fully kinetic theory.

Audits of death in HIV-Infected Children and Adolescents Followed up in the Pediatric department of the Regional Teaching Hospital of Borgou/Alibori from 2005 to 2020

Introduction: Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a major public health problem with high morbidity and mortality among children. The objective of this work was to audit the deaths of children and adolescents with HIV infection followed up in the pediatric department of the Regional Teaching Hospital of Borgou/Alibori (CHUdB/A) the from 2005 to 2020. Patients and method: This was a retrospective and descriptive study conducted in the pediatric department of CHUd/B-A in Parakou. All children with HIV infection who died from January 1, 2005 to August 31, 2020 were included. data collection was carried out in three stages: a phase of medical records processing, a phase of community survey and a phase of death audits. The variables studied were sociodemographic, clinical, biological, therapeutic and evolutionary. Results: Over the study period, the data of 464 infected children were recorded, including 92 deaths, representing a case fatality rate of 19.83%. Severe acute malnutrition (69.23%), gastro-intestinal tract infections (43.58%) and serious opportunistic pulmonary infections (24.36% pulmonary tuberculosis and 19.23% pneumocystis) were the main causes of death. The main dysfunctions found were: the delayed diagnosis of HIV infection (79.35%), the absence or delay in consultation when the child’s clinical condition deteriorates (32.61% and 47.83%), delayed initiation of antiretroviral treatment (42.39%) and non-adherence to treatment (38.04%). Non-adherence to treatment was predominant in adolescents (90.49%). Conclusion: Specific interventions for early detection, adequate nutritional care, psychosocial support for adolescents and mothers of children are necessary to reduce mortality due to HIV among children and adolescents.

The present study is a systematic effort to investigate the structure-sensitive magnetic parameters of Ce^(3+) substituted Ba-Sr hexaferrite nanocrystals chemically formulated as Ba_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)Ce_(x)Fe_(12-x)O_(19) where x=0.0-0.2 with Δx=*** hexaferrite powders were prepared using the sol-gel self-ignition route and structurally characterized by means of powder X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared *** creation of the m-type hexaferrite phase within the synthesized samples was revealed from the Rietveld refinement of the X-ray *** occurrence of a secondary phase of CeO_(2) was revealed within the hexaferrites for the substitution,x> *** refined X-ray diffraction data were utilized to compute the lattice parameters,X-ray density,and lattice parameter *** crystal structure plotted from the refined XRd data reveals the occupancy of the ions at different lattice *** XPS data of the hexaferrite were analyzed to confirm the oxidation states of the constituent *** nanocrystalline nature of the hexaferrites was revealed from the crystallite sizes calculated using Scherer's *** analysis of FTIR spectra confirms that only a fraction of Ce^(3+)accommodated in the lattice and the remaining Ce content reside in the form of the CeO_(2) *** morphology of the hexaferrites was analyzed from the FESEm profiles of the ferrite *** magnetic behavior study was performed by analyzing the Curie temperature,hysteresis loops,and hyperfine interactions by means of susceptibility,V.S.m,and mossbauer spectroscopy,*** hexaferrites with increasing coercivity,decreasing saturation magnetization,and decreasing Curie temperature are reported in the *** substituted Ce^(3+)ions inhibit the grain growth and create lattice imperfections giving rise to hexaferrites with tuned magnetic parameters suitable for different applications.
