This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of enzymes in purifying and reducing the degree of polymerization of cellulose for the production of dissolving *** goal was to determine the contributions of xylanase(X)and endoglucanase(EG)in the treatment of pulp,specifically by quantifying the formation of soluble and insoluble reducing sugars using the dinitrosalycilic acid(dNS)***,the release of soluble reducing sugars(RSSol)was enhanced after xylanase treatment,while endoglucanase(EG)treatment led to changes in insoluble reducing sugars(RSIns).The maximum synergism was observed for RSIns when a high ratio of endoglucanase to xylanase(320EG:5X/g pulp)was *** relative contribution of endoglucanase to RSins was determined to be 15.6%of the total reducing *** viscosity of pulps treated with xylanase decreased only by 7%,whereas endoglucanase treatment significantly reduced viscosity by 45%.Modifications in the particle size were observed after pulp treatment with the combination of endoglucanase and *** summary,the dNS test is a rapid and effective method for evaluating the efficiency of enzyme treatments on *** measurement of RSIns correlates with changes in pulp viscosity to different extents,providing valuable insights into the effectiveness of enzyme treatments.

This article has the general objective of estimating the efficiency of urban solid waste management in 940 Brazilian munici-palities through data Envelopment Analysis(dEA)technique and has specific objectives:(i)to estimate efficiency scores;(ii)to compare the performance between different groups of municipalities;and(ii)to analyze the profile of efficient munici-palities from the perspective of the guidelines of Law 12,305/2010 and socio-economic and environmental *** technique used was dEA with output-oriented and variable scale to return *** results showed higher efficiency scores in the municipalities with populations above 500,000 *** score variation ranged from 0.5(municipalities with populationsdered efficient,and when analyzing the efficient group,it was found that adherence to legislation was not a major factor in achieving efficiency.

This work shows that despite a lattice mismatch of almost 20%, CdMnTe/CdTe/CdMnTe heterostructures grown directly on Si(111) have surprisingly good optical emission properties. The investigated structures were grown by molecular beam epitaxy and characterized by scanning transmission electron microscopy, macro-and micro-photoluminescence. Low temperature macro-photoluminescence experiments indicate three emission bands which depend on the CdTe layer thickness and have different confinement characteristics. Temperature measurements reveal that the lower energy emission band (at 1.48 eV)is associated to defects and bound exciton states, while the main emission at 1.61 eV has a weak 2d character and the higher energy one at 1.71 eV has a well-defined (zero-dimensional, 0d) 0d nature. Micro-photoluminescence measurements show the existence of sharp and strongly circularly polarized (up to 40%) emission lines which can be related to the presence of Mn in the heterostructure. This result opens the possibility of producing photon sources with the typical spin control of the diluted magnetic semiconductors using the low-cost silicon technology.

Urban green spaces(UGS)are relevant to city well-being,as recognized by the United Nations’Sustainable development Goals(SdGs).However,few studies have studied the temporal use of *** work assessed the seasonal,weekly,and daily use of three urban green spaces(Vingis Park,Bernardino Garden,and Jomantas Park)in Vilnius(Lithuania).The study is based on an on-site observation-based survey,which recorded users’characteristics,activities,and weather conditions during summer and *** results showed that UGS’s seasonal,weekly,and daily use differed according to park and users’*** with a higher diversity of facilities had a high seasonal difference in the number of observed *** numbers were higher in the summer for activities with children,social activities,sports,and water activities than in the *** Park had the lowest variability in user *** variables were linked to changes in users’*** precipitation and lower temperature were associated with reducing the number of users and the diversity of registered *** of the stationary activities were observed during *** diversity of the observed activities was associated with the available facilities rather than the park *** distribution of stationary activities was spatially correlated with facility/equipment(benches,playgrounds,sports,and fitness equipment)and proximity to water *** results of this study are relevant for UGS design,planning,and management.
